Heh, before it was CD sales now it's satellite radio. I guess they are so underwhelmed with nothing better to do with their time and money. They should just concentrate on making CD's the price vinyl albums use to be. If I remember correctly, anywhere from $6-$8 depending on where you bought it and how new it was. The organization surely must know that these CD copy protection efforts are doomed to fail in the market, and in fact as I've argued before they're probably driving frustrated users to online services (sanctioned and unsanctioned) where they can get less-restricted electronic copies of music. It seems possible that the RIAA has renewed its anti-CD-R rhetoric in order to lay the groundwork for a campaign to enact a Canadian-style tax on recordable media. The RIAA can argue that they've tried copy protection and that it just doesn't work, so a recordable media tax is necessary to make up for sales lost to CD-R-based "piracy."

Looks like the gaming industry is going to have to revise the Software License Agreement to include not only the end user of the product but the store in which the product is being sold and bought (second hand). Such as, "Not to be resold" or add in a certain percent from the resale of the game to go to the publisher/developer. I'd say 75% is a good start. Hmm, I like the part about Microsoft's non-game program stance. Then again, who would sell up their OS or Office programs. When no matter how good you are at keeping your computer running up to snuf, one has to eventually install a fresh copy. Anyway, good thing that the electronic retail is taking off. The sooner the better to keep these retail chains, that didn't put any sweat or money into the game's development, from cashing in big time (with no compensation going to the other side) on other people's IP.

Grayfox, I did rather enjoy the article in the science section for the HAARP device. Stranger things have come out of Area 51 research. Let's see, on a more reality note: The Earth's magnetic field is weakening getting ready to do it's flip. Which in turn, allows more solar radiation to enter the atmosphere heating it up and heating up the oceans and in turn reducing the ozone layer again reducing the Earth's ability to repel even more solar radiation heating the atmosphere and oceans even more. Also, for all we know, the Earth's own internal heat engine may fluctuate (I don't think anyone has done research on this either). If the Earth's own heat engine increases this add's more energy to the atmosphere and ocean temperatures. Sorry to hear about that Jag. I've gone through three four dogs myself and sucks when they die. The worst one was the one I lost only a few months after my baby nephew died on me. I did the same thing with that one buried him at my sisters house in rockland county very nice spot in her back yard. Anyway, the Democrats had a golden opportunity, a golden opportunity to say to every American we are putting politics aside and throwing ourselfs 100% behind the president in this national crisis. The acriminations will come after this is over. Did they do this? Nope they are playing politics as usual. What happened to the new improved democratic party? The something different spin they gave us. You see the president not doing things then you rally all the other states and take matters into your own hands. But no still no such heros in the government. I don't know if any of you guys are aware of this but New York City sent a legion of firefighters, police officers and humanitarian relief when it was realized what a clamity it was in NO. We know devistation all too well. As Jaguar has stated this was mainly a failure of the state and local leaders even in the aftermath. Louisiana leaders gave everyone the impression they had everything under control.
