  1. Exporting America on CNN. I just watched this segment on CNN bloody amazing how the Democrats are blaming the Bush administration when ex President Clinton also helped big time with this issue with NAFTA. What a bunch of hippocrates! It's a politician issue pow powing to the corporate lobby and should not be blamed on one party or another I blame them all not to mention rising taxes and rising health benefit costs among other issues that add to company woes and make them want to out source to other cheaper countries. I do have one question that I'm curious to find out anyone's take about. Do you think the government should be involved and meddle in private corporate free trade?
  2. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: Actually, I contacted Fileshack and they sent me this statement. So, the files are just fine. quote: I've found this to be not the case. First of all I never downloaded the initial corrupted demo. Though something could still have gone wrong transferring the demo from the 3000AD server to ours, I downloaded a copy just to be sure and indeed it installs just fine. We did have server problems yesterday when the Unreal Tournament 2004 demo was released, which might've resulted in some downloads being dropped. I downloaded the demo last night from Gamers Hell, I was going to wait since I plan on picking it up next week but saw people saying that the demo does does not work, and I get an error right away in the install. I do the ctrl-alt-del and get the close program box and right next to UC install name is (Not Responding). I also download UT2004 demo from them and that was fine. They also placed the UC demo in their own zip with two other files (a gamers hell faq file and some other file don't rememeber off hand what the other file was) which they did not do to UT2004. Why can't these guys leave these files as is and not mess with them by placing them in their own zips. Anyway, just thought you'd like to know this.
  3. Very cool Hydrogen Fuel Cells
  4. "U.S. Customs Service, which arrested Breen and 40 other individuals after an elaborate undercover operation known as "Operation Buccaneer."" What an original name Pirates Vs. Buccaneers
  5. Looky here an upcoming game from the makers (sonalysts) of Sub Command Dangerous Waters.
  6. On Gamespot they have two types of Reviews a generic fill out form just for marking Gameplay, Graphics etc.. The other one is an actual reader review that's where the 4.7 is coming from. Others filled out the generic form and I'm sure we all know who they were . If you notice, there is no In house review yet the guy is probably still trying to figure the game out without reading the manual bloody ten year olds .

  8. Well, this past thursday I replaced my old Radeon 9000 with a 9600xt. All I can say is that I'm more than pleased with this card after putting it through it's paces. Most of my games like Prince of Persia, Splinter cell, Max Payne 2 etc.. run baby smooth in 1600x1200 mode . The only game I seem to still have trouble with is Gothic 2 and I still need to keep the two options they give for visuals at 100% the max is 300% but I do believe that is because of low system memory since I only have 256mb and the game recommends 512mb and seeing the amount of detail in this game I understand that. I also read on various sites that some games do require more system horsepower than rely on video card power. In short, a memory upgrade will be next for me. Oh yeah, I also have a voucher for Half Life 2 when it is released. A freebee for a new game WOW.
  9. quote:Originally posted by Cruis. In: i didnt feel like creating a topic for this. my question do you think if a terrorist group got a wam bam nuclear warhead or missle that they would use it? would they go that far? i mean what they do is still on conventional terms, using standard explosives to blow themselves up, but would they use a nuke? i couldnt say for sure, since i will never see into the mind of a terrorist, but i think if they did they would lose all their arguments to the world that they are soldiers and not terrorists. Hell yes they would use the damn thing. We've seen it time and time again with the indiscriminate use of car bombs, and this one is for El che too, where civilian women, children and men get killed. Take the lesson from the Lord of the Rings and the scouring of the Shire no one is safe from harm. Do you think a little thing like a Nuke is going to stop them from using it? And a Nuclear leak has happened as I saw on CNN (couldn't seem to find the article about this CNN's web site) Pakistan Scientists Leaked Nuclear Technology. These terrorist groups seem to thrive off of civilian, not military, mass kills. Just look at the world trade center. They were more than happy with themselves with the massive civilian casuality count and patted themselves on the back. When we attacked Iraq, all our targets were political and military not civilian but Hussein in his wisdom placed these military facility right on top if not near civilian neighborboods and housing. It's like the leaders of terrorist groups they travel around shielded by a group of children body shields so if any one takes him out they take out the kids too to dissuade anyone from attaking them. Anyway, I don't see as much outcry from these action as I do towards Bush's actions. As for the weapons of mass destruction, hello, we did find one in a hole Saddam Hussein. Just ask the Iraqi's. Actually, I think that the military WMD's was a snow job on all of us from Hussein himself to keep his enemies at bay namely the Kurds, Shiite's and Iran. Hussein had to keep up that illusion so he did not appear to militarily weak.

  11. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: We were not successful in obtaining an injunction primarily due to the fact that the performance of the product in the market at $19.99 instead of $39.99 can be tested and we can seek I don't understand that at all. You did not sign a contract with dreamcathcer using you and your product as a test subject for game pricing but contracted at $40 so how can the Judge even come to that decision. I do however hope that the game does sell twice as many copies because then you would increase your fan base and keep the profit at that of selling the game at $40 and would save you a bunch on further law suits even though that would give credence to Dreamcatcher's move.
  12. I dunno, I think he rather looks like a NEO of the Matrix from an alternate dimension.

"James Bond 007: Everything Or Nothing" game that didn't come out for christmas. some1 forgot Doom 3... 1. True very true. I keep looking at it through a gamers perspective. 2. Not me!! I'm patiently waiting for it's release as well as Half Life 2. As long as these games don't go the way of Duke Nukem Forever.

That's why I've stayed away from most forums. 99% of the conversations that have gone on on other sites I could swear I was talking or reading posts from 10 to 14 year olds.
  17. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: According to Hollywood Reporter I'm glad what I've been saying for a long time is true about the christmas release crap"Game publishers, in general, recognize that the Christmas rush -- in which an avalanche of games comes out at the same time -- is a huge marketing problem. This past Christmas, they say, there were too many good games coming out at the same time and quite a few didn't sell well." But I disagree with "It's too dangerous to try and sell weaker, second-tier titles when there are few consumers around. Hardcore gamers may be in the stores in March or April, but the casual gamers aren't." If it's second tier game, who's going to want it anyway while they are shopping. If they are shopping for a game, you know damn well it's gunna be a name game because more than likely if it's not for christmas it'll be for a birthday or something. Give you an example this is how I shop. I go into a game store to pick up a name game say GTA Vice City or Prince of Persia or Gothic 2 then as I have the game in hand and looking through the shelves I see another game that maybe I haven't heard about I don't pick that game up right away I go home with the name game and check all reviews I can find out about the game that caught my eye and if the reviews are good (they don't have to be great) I go back and pick up that game. I've done that with games like Urban Chaos, Outcast, X beyond the frontier. All three of these titles were bought by seeing them in the store first when I went to buy a popular game and checked out their reviews.

  22. quote:Originally posted by Jaguar: Let me know what you find out LIS, if the 2X Bosch works, let me know and maybe I will build one of these things. Sounds like fun, and my wife thinks our 35" is too big!! LOLWell zee plans have changed a tad since my 15 inch monitor blew and I got a new viewsonic 19" flatscreen CRT. But let me tell you, that this monitor is very bright even more so than my 15" and when I put the 3x fresnel lens that I ordered up to it and onto my old 6 foot movie screen the image in the middle the middle looks great but since the lens is only 8x11 well just the middle of the desktop comes out focused. But it does do on the 19" what it was suppose to do on the 15" but the smaller screen just didn't have the brightness anymore. Someone had posted here a web link for large 2x fresnel lens for 19"-21" screens that was suppose to be for people with poor eye sight I think it was about $30 bucks but since it is rigid acrylic it should do the job well. That'll be the next one I try.

You know the ones hooked to laptops (or a PC) that projects to a wall? Price dude, Price. $900+ for a projector then it's $300+ for replacement bulbs. Who do you think we are JOE MILLIONAIRES!!!
  24. Does anyone know what OS the landers are using? They've been keeping awfully quite about it. Makes me wonder if they are using a Windows OS!! Maybe it's Windows ME (Mars Edition). And if that's the case, be prepared for many crashes and lock ups.
