  1. It's them. Them that are out to get us.
  2. That was painful. You are a cruel, cruel man. As cruel as a ... Nah, can't do it.
  3. Sorry to sound defensive. Just for clarification I was talking about Yahoo pages and such. I don't like the ads but live with them. Pop ups I hate worse. I try not to go to sites that throw pop ups at you. I seriously doubt I would use the Google mail. That would be too annoying. Patriot act: Hehe needs it's own thread in politics. Maybe there is one. But if we're gonna keep it small I will say that I like the idea of getting bad guys but hate the idea of what everyone else may lose. I wonder how far the FBI/whatever other agency does this stuff researched me because I am an Insurgent in the role play aspect of the game and have two web sites mentioning Insurgents. I bet they looked just to make sure.
  4. Click! (Cruis. In slumps to floor) Sounds like you need some down time. Go see a movie. Even if you shouldn't afford it. Library maybe? I'd invite you for a day at the lake but you have an ocean and I haven't gotten the boat ready yet. Take care.
  5. Oh I'm not looking for a free lunch nor do I think there is one. That's why I put free in quotation marks. It's not really free because I have to look at ads. But it's free enough and a trade I'm willing to make. I do share some of the concerns of these privacy groups. If Google does it then everyone is going to start and we won't have a minutes peace.
  6. Welcome to the wild, wild, wonderful, wacky world of AMD.
  7. quote:Bush had the advantage of claiming executive priviledge if he wanted to, but he gave in to public pressure, and I don't think that he should have.I don't care how honest you actually are; if you refuse to testify you appear dishonest. I'm glad he caved. He'll get to say the same thing behind closed doors that would have come out in press conferences. quote: Clinton used that priviledge shamelessly,How so? THe Whitewater stuff? Yeah that upset me too. quote:This socalled nonpartisan committee has turned into on of the biggest CYA Clinton debacles I have seen in a while. We're three years in. Bush owns it now. quote:This committee is going to turn into a major laughing stock,100% agree. quote:because it is not doing anything but proving to the American public that the Democrats are in MAJOR CYA mode right now.Change Democrats to Congress and I would again agree 100%. Look back on page 1. I already said this is just congress posturing.
  8. quote:FSB is set to 166Mhz and the multiplier to auto which is giving a CPU clock of 2083MHz Memory is clocked at 400That's the prob. The mobo supports 200/266/333 yet is set at 166? The CPU expects 226/333 And why is the memory set to 400? None of the speeds match. That's the prob. And it's NOT an AMD 2.8 Ghz. It's an AMD 2800+ which clocks at 2.08 Ghz according to Newegg.com spec page.
  9. Many users use "free" email as a way to maintain a buffer from their ISP. Consider a family gets gmail for that extra privacy. Say the 10 year old daughter emails her friend her mom is pregnant again. Now suppose Gmail inserts condom ads, birth control pill ads, or other inappropriate stuff for a ten year old? Worst case I know but it's possible. I generally agree that if you agree to terms of service you're sunk but the above scenario is possible. Also, by reading Yahoo I am bombarded with ads on every page. The price of "free". Does this invade my privacy? No. This is that same as billboards on the highway. If I go to the finance page and financially oriented ads appear does THIS invade my privacy? Again, no. It's still the same as going down fast food alley and seeing food billboards. The same with my AOL. Full of ads. That I PAY FOR! Ughh. Hehe. Imagine if every time you picked up the phone Bellsouth ran a voice ad. I better hush or I'll talk it up. But that's off topic anyway. If you read the PCMag linked article there is a another link to a discussion board. Good points on both sides. Just don't use it. Your email is sniffed/snooped anyway. Etc, etc. I don't have a really strong opinion on this but let's say I see potential for abuse. And if Gmail becomes dominant then well.
  10. Bush didn't want to testify at all. Then conceded to an hour, then two, then full testimony. That's the way I remember it. But if Bush wants to go behind closed doors fine. We're seeing more and more stuff but I'm still not gonna lay blame. Shell lied about reserves
  11. Google is planning on introducing a new free email service along the lines of Hotmail and Yahoo. However, they are going to scan the text of the message and try to place pertinent ads along with the Email. Several consumer groups say this invades privacy. Does it?
  12. I think I mentioned that on the first page. Or one of the articles did.
  13. I sorta like GOA3000AD. He's been mostly polite if opinionated. I found this link http://www.taiwandc.org/history.htm which has the following. quote:The date 17 April 1995 marked the 100th anniversary of the Treaty of Shimonoseki, in which China ceded its sovereignty over Taiwan in perpetuity. The Treaty was signed in April 1895, at the end of the Sino-Japanese War of 1894, in which the modernized Japanese imperial army defeated the antiquated Chinese Ching dynasty army.Seems Taiwan has been independent for over a hundred years. If China reforms and Taiwan wishes to re-unite then fine. If China wishes to forcefully (re) absorb Taiwan then not fine.
  14. I probably shoulda made a thread named Save Hubble but eh. We started talking about it here. robot mission to save Hubble under study So it needs new batteries as well as gyroscopes. Ok. I can live with not putting anything new on it as well. I hope they do it. Perhaps China would like to help. Dual benefits. They get more space experience and it helps Hubble. I also learned Hubble had/has a booster hook up designed into it. Seems even worse now that I know it was designed to be boosted but they don't want to do it. However it's like wishing for a pony as a child. You want it so bad but you're pretty sure it won't happen.
  15. Here's a tip. Don't reach blindly into the fridge. I reached into the fridge and grabbed a can thinking it was Mountain Dew. I popped the top and took a big old swig and about choked to death. I had opened a Natural Light instead.
  16. Thank you for continuing this in this thread GOA3000AD.
  17. That isn't quite the report Pugwash wanted. We need to know about the computer itself. What CPU does it have? (AMD 2200 for example or Pentium 4 2.4 GhZ) How much system memory do you have? (256 or 512 meg?) What kind of video card? Are you pretty good with computers and can answer this stuff?
  18. I like chinese food. Hot and sour soup. Several places around here have good ones but they are all slightly different. Mongolian Chicken is good at one particular place but most every where else it's a bit on the greasy side. Perhaps it's supposed to be that way but I like the non greasy version. Hunan chicken is good too it just has different veggies. I don't like that one with peanuts and celery. Nasty. I particularly like the buffets because you can try different things.
  19. GOA3000AD do you want talk to us?
  20. In GOA3000AD case his international "flavor" was lost with his provacative sig. Using a democracy to promote communism? Ughhh.
  21. Leave it be Cc.
  22. Is he a troll or did we just get into an argument soon?
  23. SC means that there are forum rules. The rule is that if you ask for tech help you must have your system profile embedded as a link in your sig. The easiest way is to scroll this page back up and click on the fairly large "Battlecruiser Online Commlink Forum". It's a link as well and will take you back to the main page. Underneath where it would say for you "Hello, Gannon" is a row of links. Click the one that says Forum Sig. That thread explains how to make a sig with your system profile.
  24. Yeah my syntax was a tad bit clunky the first time wasn't it? Apologies. But, I know it works now. Shame on me for waiting so long to use the comms system. Thanks again all.
  25. Ouch, this is a tough one. What you have to do is correlate whatever patch is mentioned, with the thread you had happened to be reading, and which particular 3000ad game that thread pertains too. Thus the RC2 patch for Universal Combat (UC) would be entirely different from the RC2 patch for Battlecruiser Millenium Gold (BCMG) which in turn would be entirely different from the RC2 patch for Battlecruiser Millenium (BCM). Edit: Also; Old RC patches are deleted once a new one is ready
