  1. I have it. It works with Sho. He's my only friend at the moment. What I did was ran thru the start menu to join MP server and copied (drug and copied) back to the start. Instead of depending on XFire or anything to start MP I just click start and the icon is up there with IE and Windows update.
  2. Cadrian, your very first sentence in the very first post in this thread mentioned parallels between Vietnam and Iraq. If you didn't want Iraq discussed perhaps you shouldn't have mentioned it?
  3. quote:I have tried to get a disabled fighter on my command ship with tractor beam. First time i used the tractor beam everything worked fine. I was asked if i want to dock the ship. I pressed Y but then i had fighter bays without power. So i thought no problem ... i powered up my fighter bays and tried to do it again, no chance .. i never got this question again. Fixed way back in BCMG quote:FIXED: If you attempt to tow a unit when there is no power to launch control and cannot, when you turn power on to launch control and try again, the tow operation will fail. What was happening is that after the message "LAUNCH CONTROL NEEDS POWER" message is displayed a further message: "RECOVERY FAILED" is queued. This message had a zero display time, which is used when asking a question. But no question was issued with this message. The consequences of this situation are: 1) the message is never seen 2) the message remains locked in the message channel (waiting for a response) 3) the icon representing the person asking the message will remain on the display 4) further messages from the person are queued but never seen The deadlock is cleared when the message queue is flushed. Also as others have stated it must be your own craft you are trying to recover.
  4. no Jake 2.0. Was on server3 for about 45 mins this evening. Played with someone named Kahn in the Kobayo Ashi Moru. I killed him once then he got a better ship and hid out on Tapestran. I sent the fighters after him but he took out two right away. He killed the pilots in the other one. Only 3 made it back in one piece.
  5. Bleh, it was cancelled in January. I coulda swore I saw it listed just last week. There is a fan site that is trying to get it on DVD. That would be cool.
  6. quote:Ok which servers are you guys using? Whichever one has someone on it. There weren't many people this weekend. Sho twisted my arm and I got that XFire chat Derek promoted a while back. It's pretty sweet. My name is of course chavik. Or; my ICQ is 14169676, name also chavik. I can shoot for say 6:00 or 7:00 PM Central any weekday. I do have my shows though. Monday is Fear Factor, Tuesday not much on, Wednesday is Enterprise and Jake 2.0, Thursday well Survivor wrapped up so don't know, and Friday not much on.
  7. The Adventures of Pluto Nash. Rented it last night. It was campy and Eddie Murphy can't act for diddly but it was fun. I especially liked the Bodyguard Model 63 Robot. Hehe.
  8. Hehe yeah. I don't think he knew what hit him. I should have used chat and said hello but I didn't. He must have got on and left to go the the bathroom or something. It wasn't even a fight. They did kill one pilot though. Starfire I think.
  9. Finally got all my ducks in a row and got on an MP server. Was fun. Killed somebody. Had to track him down.
  10. Dennymala is going to love this story. quote:ROME - Italian drivers who like to use highways as their personal speed-tracks are about to lose the race. Italy's state police presented a sleek new addition Friday: a Lamborghini Gallardo, with a top speed of 192 mph. The car is ready for service, bedecked with a siren, painted blue-and-white, and the word "POLIZIA" ÔÇö "police" ÔÇö stenciled on the side. Police showed it off at an anniversary celebration in Rome on Friday. They said the Lamborghini will be used on the Salerno-Reggio Calabria highway in southern Italy, for emergencies and to transport organs for transplant.
  11. I found it. http://www.militarydial.com/army-force-structure.htm quote:ARMY ÔÇô 50,000+ soldiers. Typically commanded by a lieutenant general or higher, an army combines two or more corps. A theater army is the ranking Army component in a unified command, and it has operational and support responsibilities that are assigned by the theater commander in chief. The commander in chief and theater army commander may order formation of a field army to direct operations of assigned corps and divisions. An army group plans and directs campaigns in a theater, and is composed of two or more field armies under a designated commander. Army groups have not been employed by the Army since World War II. So when the history channel is talking about Hitler's armies it seems to be talking about army groups (and a graphic I saw did use the term army group) which is in itself called a complete "army" totalling 50,000+ men. That's a lot of people. Religion and resources are what I typically see as the main cause of war. We will never have the same religion and will never have an equal distribution of resources so ....
  12. We also compared your answers with others who have taken the test, and according to the sorts of questions you got correct, we can tell your Intellectual Type is a Precision Processor. This means you're exceptionally good at discovering quick solutions to problems, especially ones that involve math or logic. You're also resourceful and able to think on your feet. And that's just some of what we know about you from your test results. quote:Relative frequency of various IQ scores (revised Stanford-Binet scale) *(Note : IQ tests scores of a person may not be an accurate or consistent measure of his intellectual potential, capacity or giftedness. It varies from day to day, test to test, and depends on the test experience, mental state during testing) IQ Score..Equals/exceeds % of population..Top % of population 160.............99.99....................................0.01 140.............99.3.....................................0.7 135.............98.......................................2 130.............97.......................................3 125.............94.......................................6 120.............89......................................11 115.............82......................................18 110.............73......................................27 105.............62......................................38 100.............50......................................50 .95.............38......................................62 .90.............27......................................73 .85.............18......................................82 .80.............11......................................89 .75..............6......................................94 .70..............3......................................97 .65..............2......................................98 .62..............1......................................99Found here. Hmmm, some of those dots wrapped. Please read the IQ score as whole numbers and not the decimals they appear to be. It's that way on the site too. I think he was trying to keep them lined up.
  13. quote:Originally posted by Steve Schacher: Previously posted by me on this thread. Snip Steve's huge post. Was that for me? Thanks. Most interesting and I remember reading it now. Much better than a dry old history book. Care to try #3? What's an army? quote: Shingen: Steve, I think that no one will comprehend your observations, and that you will be consigned to the realm of "conspiracy theory fanatic", as I have been. It's as plausible as any other reason. Plus Steve qualified it really well with the "it could be argued" statement rather than presenting it as fact.
  14. He had thyroid problems and was going to the doctor. He was running that internet radio site but the posting slowed to a halt and then after a while the message board was taken down. Haven't seen hide nor hair of him since. Back to the IQ test. I am excellent at math and verbal skills but those spatial things get me. Weird shaped boxes that you have to pick next in sequence. Ughh. Anyone remember the brackets for the scores? Average, above average, gifted, genius, etc.? When I was young they wouldn't tell mother mine. They didn't want her to relay it to me and give me da big head. They did say I was somewhere in gifted though.
  15. Ok I'll play. 1.)Ok ages ago alliance were built through marriage. So all the rulers of Europe wound up being related somehow. World War I was a big old family feud. At the cost of a lot of lives though. I'll take "No, that's not right" "No that's silly" or "Could have been a contributing factor." 2.)How did Germany wind up being the aggressor in both World Wars? I hope I have that right. 3.)What's an army? I was watching a history show a while back and it was talking about WWII and Hitler's 3rd 5th and 7th army being somewhere and other numbers being somewhere else. So what's an army? Our army is simply called the army. Or do smaller armies make up our total army? History was always rather dry in school but on TV it's pretty interesting stuff.
  16. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/05/11/...ain616842.shtml This is getting stranger and stranger. Wanna hear a conspiracy theory? Thought it up all by myself I did. He converted to Islam; joined Al Quaida; and martyred himself. MAybe not but it is strange. He was offered a ride home a month ago according to the CBS story in my link. THEN he was detained. Then disappeared a couple of days after release. I don't know if they offered him another ride home or not after he was released.
  17. Well street it wasn't you. It was all those one liners. I'm sorry you felt included in that description. I was trying to be polite and not call names. That would be about the same as slapping them in the face and calling them redneck. Oh, hi there Lostinspace! This place blows up every so often. Hopefully we are good to go for the rest of the year.
  18. It wasn't the content of the threads; it was the incessant bickering displayed by a certain number of new members. I have discussed this with Jaguar and may quietly open them in a couple days. They were good threads till they all got about 30 new posts each in about two hours.
  19. Sigh. I'm on tickle.com. I think they are fairly benign but Lostinspace may have a point. Remember Blades? Somewhere he posted the "official UK/british" IQ test. I scored way high on that. For the Tickle test I am about par with those who have posted here. Some of their tests are just outright fun though.
  20. quote:BOARDERSYou haven't been playing ENOUGH bc. If you had you would have known they are INTRUDERS! (Sorry about your house)
  21. The Man Song (beware popups)
  22. quote: I am publicly schooled although I dont think mine is so bad. Then perhaps you may enjoy this thread. I've been biting my tongue in that one (maybe I should post this there instead) but if you're intelligent and don't absorb everything they throw at you like a mindless sponge then I think you will avoid all the pitfalls mentioned. If you ARE a mindless sponge then you deserve what you get. Up to and including being a drone for the industrio-political machine. Ok there we go. Post duplicated in this thread where it belongs. Just trying to keep stuff straight. Do try to keep the flames low.

You know we beat them militarily and they give up. But I dont think the Vietnamese liked that idea. That last sentence strikes me funny. I remember news footage when Vietnam Vets came home but that's about it.
  24. He has a report due in 9 days. He is using this forum for his research. Not good. Q:How do you use the PTA? A: RTFM. Same thing I am having a tough time with this one. If I was in say 10th grade I would certainly ask my parents, friends, and associates (like you have associates in 10th grade) their opinion. I would listen to what they had to say and perhaps even read books they suggested. Perhaps you are more correct this time.
