  1. Yup, pretty much. Good effects and stunts. See it on the big screen for that.
  2. Spot on about the dems and repubs. Calling them socialist is a bit harsh though.
  3. quote:theyre coming to take me away haha theyre coming to take me away haha hoh heehee... Remember when you ran away and I got on my knees and begged you not to leave because I thought I'd go berserk? Oh crikes what is that song? I used to know it verbatim.
  4. Just saw it. I thought it was good. Very suspenseful in parts and very humorous in parts. I didn't mind the end. Humanity triumphs and all that.
  5. Been a while but if you're posting you're approved. When filing out your profile don't fill out the cd key even though the field is there. In the box for your sig use UBB found on the UBB Code page This is the code from my sig code:Commander Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet System Profile
  6. quote:The United States is a Constitutional Repuplic.Haven't heard that one before. But it's believable and sounds nice. quote:A Republic in which the members of the government are divided constitutionally and limited to certain extents of power - theoretically.ok quote:Democracy is majority rule; i.e. three wolves and a sheep voting on what's for dinner.Once again we/ya'll are talking a PURE democracy. I agree that might get sticky. We have gone through this before. It is still nicer to call ourselves a democracy. It is democratic because everyone can vote for a representative. Semantics at work I suppose. quote:If you want the true outcome of a democracy, look no further than post civil war Southern States. No knowledge of that. No comment. Sorry. quote:The white majority kept power and the rights of the minority were trampled.I do remember learning about poll taxes and such. quote:This country provides safeguards against that.Cool quote: Democracy is an ugly word,Nope, it appeases the masses. quote: if this were a democracy we would likely be at the mercy of the whim of mob rule. Back to "PURE" democracy vs republican democracy or whatever. Oh well, your vote don't count anyway (start a thread). The politicians will get into office and begin building their power base. Now back to the thread topic. America is an economic and military power. Our "role" should be an example of constraint with fortitude. Nudge other countries toward democracy. Oh my, there is that terrible word again. But, only do so if they want it.
  7. quote:He's got the name for an Insurgent... Hey!!! I heard that. And it weren't nice neither. quote:just to see how much people like me push the rate member button and voteYou sure you wanna ask for that?
  8. quote:that is why what they did is totally ludicrousLetter of the law and all that. Imagine the poor sod (the guard) wondering if he's gonna get wrote up or worse yet, fired, for not following instructions. P.S. Draconis, Bomb dogs train in my warehouse. It's cool.
  9. Down here we had our first set of sextuplets born to a local family. They have gotten corporate gifts, interviews, parties honoring them, and a ceremony giving them six keys to the city. While the miners have been on the national news these sextuplets have been on air aobut a week. Oh well, life sucks then ya die.
  10. quote:You can turn that off... Did you go into RealOne Preferences and uncheck "Always Play File with RealOne" for media types?Uhhh, yeah. THat's my last paragraph. quote:Huh? You don't have to give them ANYTHING to download the free playerOk, ok. So I had a bout of consumerism (idiocy). Plus I got duped by the slick page and the HUGE "FREE" button. However I did read the info carefully and knew what I was getting. I chose to get it and then opt out. My mistake was not being online so the software could tell the server to get me out. Rant 2: The software reverted to the basic player but I was still getting billed. Elenkis is correct. THere is a link for the free player. It's in tiny print on the bottom left of the main page. So this still serves as a warning. Usually I catch stuff like that but this time I thought it was all they were offering. Like those try for thirty days magazine subcriptions that you can then cancel. In my opinion I did everything correctly I just wasn't online for it to work. Real player ain't too terrible if it would play fair and stay in it's own sandbox. In days gone by ALL new programs would take over or monopolize your files. Winamp did it, quicktime did it, and real did it. But the big difference was that if you started another program and it prompted you to put things back (and you did it) things would stay that way. So Quicktime would play quick files, winamp played mp3's, and real would play rm files and they all got along famously. This latest wrinkle was annoying to say the least. I found the fix as Elenkis pointed out and things are better. It's Tools>Preferences then you get a window similiar to windows explorer and you have to choose media. Then you can uncheck all the things you don't like. Funny; I seem to remember winamp asking first and I know paint shop pro did. So anyway I called and cancelled. They were nice enough about it. Of course they mentioined all their great features but didn't push to hard. Lesson learned and hopefully I won't have another bout of consumerism anytime soon.
  11. DON'T get it. Stick with realplayer8 or whatever it is. You'll get hit with update reminders but it's better than this. This stupid thing has taken over every media on my computer. If you go to a site that uses something other than RealOne the program you expected to open tells you another program has changed settings. It asks you if you want to change back. Sure I do. Does that end it? NOoooooooo it doesn't . Each and every single time RealOne nabs the settings and changes them back causing the scenario to repeat itself ad infinitum. I only wanted to update the basic player but instead I got this. You have to give them your credit card info FIRST and then "Opt out". What a freaking JOKE. First they don't tell you the program HAS TO BE ONLINE to opt out. Then the PROGRAM ITSELF doesn't warn you that it ISN'T ONLINE. Noooo, it goes ahead and tells you you are "opted out" lulling you into a false sense of security. Next month comes along and you find a charge on your credit card bill. Below is a letter I wrote when I was cancelling: "You have taken over every media on my computer. This is MY computer NOT yours. I and I alone decide which program plays what. I am tired of going to sites that use something other than realone and having that program tell me another program has changed settings. I hereby cancel my subscription. I have already taken the issue to my credit card company and will be disputing the charges. I have already received a courtesy credit for the first month (you still got your money) but I expect a credit for the second month, no more charges, and for this program to revert to the basic free player with no recurring charges. Your cooperation in this matter is appreciated. Sincerely; Charles W. Lindsey" I write this nice letter thinking it will go to customer service and everything will be taken care of. NOoooooooo. I click continue and get a STUPID 1-800 number. I have to call them MANUALLY. ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I have mistakenly assumed the 'net was supposed to make things easier from purchasing to customer service. Guess not huh? They want to make it hard to cancel . They want the slippage. Money grubbing twerps. They want me to call them? Fine, I'll call them. They'll get what for too. So consider this a warning. If you want the service fine but I'm warning you what will happen. Guess what? I got mad enough to drill down (way down) and finally find the preferences and reset them all to my liking. Oh well. Doesn't change anything. I'm still cancelling and reverting to the basic player.
  12. It'll make a decent rental when it comes out in a couple weeks. As for the ending; they forgot the cardinal rule of bad guys. He (the bad guy) has to go down/get hurt at least three times before you can really kill him.
  13. It's a bit late don't ya think? Sanctions are already in place. Move to lock this thread.
  14. Just got a "confirmation" email asking if I still want to participate. Don't think that means I have actually been asked to join yet. I will have to respond. It could mean they are just keeping in touch with those interested. Or; it could mean people are bailing out left and right and they are scraping the bottom of the barrel. Hehe. Shame on me. I might like it. Who knows?
  15. Ya know. Sometimes I feel all snug and cozy and other times it's frightening. This is like a bad episode of Pinky and the Brain. Narf!!!!
  16. Glad you liked. I'm up ot episoed 5 now and it's still rather disjointed. They haven't brought everyone together yet.
  17. quote:aka The Evil OneHehe, that just cracks me up. 1. Strangely enough I like BB3, Survivor, And the new Dog Eat Dog. Fear FActor with the gross stuff kinda puts me off but the other stunts are ok. I like watching the relationships develop on the first two. 2. Haven't had cable in years. Dropped it as a cost cutting measure. I miss it but not terribly. 5. And Golf and basketball and football, not a sports guy. 7. Hehe a. 18. http://www.mp4.com/media/5/5408.html "Broken Saints". Don't quite know what to make of it. Anyone else give it a shot? Edit in: Oh, I only watched the first episode. [ 07-19-2002, 11:41 PM: Message edited by: Charles Lindsey ]
  19. Hair bands. Gotta love 'em.
  20. quote:The world community would find us a dangerous enemy, just as much so as they have found a very beneficial partner. I'm saying we shouldn't turn our backs to our allies, merely restrict exactly what kind of aid we do give them. Makes us sounds like Microsoft. Hehe.
  21. quote:The only way to make a virtual convention would be for the SC to make a special BCM server with only a small planet as universe, only FP allowed and 500 max people allowed There is half of an idea in that. Set up a server, use the instant action universe [trion(?), hellseye (?), and the other (?)], allow as many users as the limited universe could allow, and use it as a chat room. I know there is supposed to be a chat room but it would would be so cool if you could fly around in an actual BC setting and chat instead of a static chat room. Would be so cool but only Derek knows how it's gonna work so might be denied, too hard too implement, etc.
  22. So basically "they" want to please everyone all the time to gain users. Not gonna happen. Right about one thing though. If I choose to devote my time to BCM then that's what I am interested in and no one else is gonna get me. Pick your market like Derek did and stick with it. Don't upset everyone by making "it" too dumb for the hardcore, too hard for the newbies, and no fun to play at all.
  23. quote:A) The man was restrained He posed no threat to the offending officer or anyone else for that matter and C) The officer clearly crossed the line. Just saw on the news. They now say the detainee grabbed the officers crotch.
  24. I actually like repairing the ship to full functionality from an almost destroyed state. I have no idea why but I consider that fun. You have to use all your skills to survive while completing repairs and actually having the stuff to repair with.
  25. Have fun with my friends.
