I've opened this thread so we can keep track of news related specifically to Prime Fleet's Gamma Wing. Well boys and girls, it's time to get down to business. I've been given command of Prime Fleet's first operational wing, and I have need of every able bodied commander I can get my hands on. A little background on what Gamma Wing is: As a wing under the direct command of Prime Fleet, Gamma Wing is a generalist wing. We do everything: patrols, exploration, diplomatic escorts, raids, invasions, defence, recon, sabre rattling, and showing the flag. Members of Gamma Wing will be called upon to do everything from mining to minelaying. Also, because our home station is Genesis in lunar orbit, rather than GalcomHQ, there is a little less brass around. That means that there'll be a little less spit and polish, and a bit more elbow grease. So SIGN UP with Gamma Wing!!! This is your chance to have fun and see some combat with a team of trusted comrades at your back to back you up. The emphasis will be on teamwork at the squadron level, and having a good time in the process. The following positions are currently open in Gamma Wing. As these fill up, I will open up other positions. All are welcome: veterans, newbies, and lurkers alike. Gamma Wing Head of Intel and Security: Head of my intelligence group. You will be able to command a small group of intelligence gatherers. More details available upon acceptance of the position 2nd Squadron members: Just want to play games with a team and have fun? Want to kick Gammulan and Insurgent butt without the mantle of responsibility of a squadron command or staff position? This is for you. I'd like to get at least three commanders in here before opening up a second squadron. That's four (4) ships per squadron to start. Note: As these positions fill up, I will make other positions available. If you are already in a position, and wish to change, no problem! The Chief of Staff will command Genesis station, and all of the ships assigned to her, as well as commanding the wing in my absence. 1st Squadron Commander: I'm looking for a hard worker for this position. Squadron Commanders will have the difficult but rewarding job of turning their squadron into a fighting team. That means I'd like them to play everything from Quake to Homeworld with their team members before BC:M is released. But on the up side, you get to lead a fighting force into battle, and you can propose a name for the squadron. 1st Squadron members: Just want to play games with a team and have fun? Rico, Currently, there isn't much for any of us to do. Some of us may work on the web page, but really, that's all there is in the way of real work, unless you want to be a recruiter. We're building a structure so that when multiplayer, and then later massive multiplayer, becomes a reality, we'll be ready. Then there will be lot's to do. But if you want to work your way up through the ranks (which can be a lot more fun, espicially if you're new to multiplayer), why don't you join Gamma Wing's 1st squadron? You'd start as a fighting member of a small team, and work your way up through squadron commander, to Wing staff, and then on to whatever takes your fancy. The position is open if you want it. Once the squadron has a few people in it, I'm going to try to organize other multiplayer games for them to play together as a team, so you'd be introduced to multiplayer nice and easy. Anyway it's a suggestion. Let me know. PS: Doesn't greek go Alpha Beta Gamma Delta Epsilon? That would make Gamma Wing S3, not S5, right? ------------------ Commander S. I have to agree that Max has more experience in the area of Security and Intel, so I will respectfully bow out of the G2/G3 position. However, I don't think I'd like just the G3 position, so I'd like to officially request a Wing Commander position. Since I'd rather not be stationed at GalcomHQ (just because I always have been) I'd like Gamma, Delta, or Epsilon Wings, if possible. Best of luck rooting out those insurgents and finding New America, Max!

I've had a thought concerning the squadron sizes. As it stands now, we have a squadron size of 9. This is just fine and dandy for the RPing end of it, but it kind of messes with the actual Multiplayer parts. BC:M has a maximum number of players per server of 16, which means, if we are playing against anyone, we'll only have 8 slots per game. So, one person per squadron will be left out. So, I propose we change to 8 ships per squadron, including the squadron commander. That way, we can put two full squadrons into an MP game of BC:M.
