  1. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: I will be releasing GBS-II at the same time as the 1.0.06 patch.SC, are you still planning on releasing GBS-II now that the 1.0.06 patch available? I havent heard any one mention it for a while, so I figured I would ask to see what you had planned.
  2. It sounds more like a 'system' problem than a problem with the game. When posting messages about certain problems and CTDs, please try and reproduce the problem in a "reliable" way before posting about it so that others can reproduce your steps and trace the problem. Thanks...
  3. Personaly, I like Black Ice, now that they have pached up the problem with Windows XP. Its simple, effective, and Ive had no problems yet with it! Well other than the random crashes before the patch came out.
  4. Hmm well 27.42 is working well for me. Fixed a lot of problems with various software (Combat mission being the main one for me with windows XP). I havent had a crash since I started using them, but I still dont see the transparent structures in BCM, which I am hoping that it will be fixed by nvidia soon! But altogether, I personaly prefer this version for both game playing and developing software.
  5. I tried a few things, including what was asked. Atempt No 1 Did the steps to the letter and CTD, as mentioned by other above. Atempt No 2 (variation) Didnt launch CC in to space, left it where it was and set the shuttle off to retreve the drones by zooming in to the drones area, and setting the waypoints, sending marines to the shuttles, then launched them. Same CTD after drones were picked up, and the shuttles started to RTB. Atempt No 3 (another variation) This time, I set the waypoints close to the ship, so they didnt travel very far. This DIDNT cause a CTD. Not sure why. Maybe because they didnt venture out of the area, where the ship starts in. Not sure if this helps at all, but I hope it does. 6. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: LMAO!!! Now thats funny, Skyfox anyone else who wants to volunteer, let me know, then post your results.) for this assignment. I'm trying to prove a point. Yup, Im up for it SC. I will try it out tonight when I get home from work.

Makes sense though since stations should have their own defences.uhm, stations have defenses. They're called missiles and turrets. Sorry, I meant that they should have extra defences, not just their own. I should have worded that a little better.

  9. Great. Actualy, I havent done any scripting for BC3K in a long long time, only because at the time, my PC was running too slow (its upgraded now). Im really looking forward to trying my hand on the new GBS-II, just to see what ideas I can come up with for BCM. It will be a very nice change from the scripting Im doing at the moment. Cant wait to see it SC
  10. Do scripts have to be defined as missions, or can a script be left running in the background as you roam, so that it is triggered to do something under certain events. Just a few examples... 1.. You write a script to make Galcom launch a ship as a escort when your badly dammaged, so it comes to your aid. Yes. e.g. code:.galcomhq events !damaged player 50 launch military,sunflash,2,escort player broadcast "Sending a pair of Sunflash escorts" endevents 2.. When you aquire a certain artifact, it upsets one of the other races and causes them to turn against you because you have stolen their tech. You can, but it would be complicated. Especially since there is no direct method of detecting the player's cargo contents via a script. You'd have to script a an object (cargopod, ship etc) to have the item. Then use a trigger to determine if the player collects that item. At which point you can then use the MOD_ALLIANCE to set the alliance matrix e.g. say it was a Vesperon pod containing the item, this command would make the Terrans and Vesperons extremely hostile toward each other. e.g. code:mod_alliance terran,vesperon,0 mod_alliance vesperon,terran,0 3.. Entering restriced areas will cause you to be hunted down (ships are launched to intercept you, or spawned from another location). If you know how to actually write a script, you should know the answer to this one. Just a few ideas I had.. [ 02-14-2002, 18:14: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  11. I agree with most of the posts here when they say that the stations were too easy to destroy. So Im quite pleased about the changes the SC has made. Cant wait to try the new patch out!
  12. If you read various parts of this board, you will notice that you WONT get tech support unless your System profile is in your SIG. If your unsure what I am talking about, then Click here to jump to a forum topic explaining how to do it. This goes for both of you guys. Thanks....
  13. Is GBS II just for space objects? or can you script objects on the planet too? For example, use it to place/create a marine on the ground and make him run a circle... I know that GBS I didnt allow this, which was my main reason for asking, after I saw the comment above regarding the creation of a 'away mission'.
  14. A couple of questions spring to mind... 1.. Your doing it from a saved game, so I am assuming that when you reinstalled, you were still using the same saved game right? 2.. Did you try it from a fresh new game?
  15. Its funny you should mention that problem. I managed to get it to work for about 30 seconds last night All I did was attack a ground base, then after I beamed in another person, the buildings I destroyed became transparent, as they were supposed to. Mind you, as soon as I moved the camera (I was in tacops at the time) the buildings went back to how they were. Im keeping my eyes open though for 'leaked' drivers that may fix it. Opps sorry, off topic. Lets keep this on topic guys *slaps himself* I should know better than that! [ 02-11-2002, 08:38: Message edited by: Roberto ]
  16. Yippeeee! I know what Im gona do this weekend!!
  17. I would love to try my hand at it SC. With docs or not. Im always up for learning something new.
  18. Did you check to see if the Integrity was at 100%. Im assuming your running the lastest patch. Errrm I just noticed your other post above which was edited by the SC. This isnt a bug reporting area, so if its a bug, and not something you think you just overlooked, please post it in the relevant area. This area is not for tech support.
  19. What I would like to do is to take part in a 'real' rescue mission, just like the one in Instant Action, but the people on the ground are other players. It would be fun to join a group of people, working together to get our comrad out in one piece while other players provide air support. 100% possible [ 02-05-2002, 14:22: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  20. He! I still have my spectrum! I wish I still had my ZX81 though. That was a fun machine to have! 1K memory, and boy, those games, who can remember what the games were like with only two colors (black & white). I still remember the 3D monster maze I had on a tape. Any one remember the tape drive that came out for the spectrum? And the printer that needed special silver paper since the ink was inside the paper? Boy those were the days...
  21. Gordon, I think he was refering to the IC, not the CC.
  22. Not sure about the cargo pod, but I know when your on the cargo screen, there is a eject button for ejecting cargo.
  23. Yes, this is actualy recomended for a lot of games out there. The less you have running in the background, the better! Some people dont like closing down virus killers and fire walls though (like me!!!!) and in most cases, its ok, but I have noticed that some games do show problems, or performance issues. BCM is recomended to have as little (or nothing) running in the background so you have as many free resources as possible for the game to use. It had been mentioned a few times in diffrent posts (not sure if they are all still there).
  24. Either that tac, or a command line option. That would work too. Ah well, we can dream, right?
  25. Actualy Fox, this is already so when it comes to the cargo bay (not sure about the weapons bay though). Ive had unsafe level of minerals in my cargo bay, and had a explosion because of it (oppps silly me!!!). I cant remember off the top of my head which two minerals react with one another. Just be carefull when your cargo bay gets dammaged as this has been one of my reasons for loosing the WHOLE cargo bay after an explosion occured! Actualy, now that I remember, I think I have seen this mentioned in the apendix in the section that shows what your crew does at diffrent AI levels. Take a look.
