Ouch, be glad he was busy with the SS. I was in the middle of a pretty nasty fight in the gammulan quadrant once and kept getting the "something's out there" message and my plutonium was getting low. Well to make a long story short in one of my various manouvers I happened to turn around just in time to see a stormcarrier decloaking almost right on top of me. I'm still not sure who the thing belonged to all I remember doing was raking down the entire length of the thing with IOD's before it went up. I decided it was a good time to head back to friendlier territory and restock.

I've found that in general ships will not attack once tractored. Of course fighters can be annoying while you are dragging a carrier but no pta or main cannons, SC can probably expound further on the whys and wherefores of this.

Will this be held after July 1?

Bout time. Now we can put to use all those wonderful skills we have been practicing for the past four or five+ years.

Huh!? Somehow I missed this post even though I seem to be on the forums 24/7 WB, Sir!

WB, join MP, sit still for us... need to test PTA arcs.

Ignoring that is a good way for a MIL aligned player to end up in negative EPs fast. That is what Tractor beams are for kinda like a nonlethal way to break up a fight

You shouldn't need to. To my knowledge IFF will always be in operation and automatically tag threats as red.

defend the diplomat mission in campaign
Eclipse replied to pkkane's topic in Universal Combat Series

Giving them a defend mission should keep them from doing that. It has been quite some time since I played through that one and when I did I would always launch a shuttle to tow the diplomat and drag him to Majora. I seem to remember that this isn't allowed anymore but I'll have to try it to be sure. It's allowed but no where near as fast. Shuttles towing a CC travel at ~550 instead of their usual 2000+ (Hey, what is the speed rating, MPS? I never can remember.) Peter, do a forum search on Diplomat1 and you'll be amazed at all the help you'll find. Ah yes that was the solution decided on. -
Hehe.... In BC3K we didn't have beam weapons save for teh PAD. Beams have only been around since BCM. As for the vilon I could see a closer resemblance to a Romulan starship. But that is just me personally.

You can't space the Command crew, but you can leave them in Gammulan territory for a few days.

Not bad, I can't wait to see what the media will be saying once BCG is released!

If you leave it there with a halt order, your marines will find a way back to the shuttle and come aboard. Eclipse, I thought that might be the method you were hinting at but I remembered a number of issues with doing that like the one mihau mentions. I'll poke around with it this evening and post any oddities in Area 51. Ok, I'll do a bit more with it too and see what shows up.

I have, but I'm using BCMG 1.01, It should work on BCMG 1.0 and BCM but I've not got those versions installed. I also use should to account for user error; it is part of my quest to get awafy from being about as tactful as a lead brick.

It is reltively simple, tell your sfm's (make sure you choose the right marines if you are unsure of their numbers, check perscan) to board one of your shuttles, goto to tacops and set a deploy team waypoint in space and launch the shuttle. The shuttle should fly there and drop off your SFM's. either recall the shuttle or just goto tacops and set a new waypoint near the deployed SFM's as extract team and set the marines to evac. It should fly there halt and wait for the marines to board.
-
Actually, tyrn, you can deply SFM's as well as extract them in space.
-
If you are beaming into a hostile environment, use the hold command in tacops to make it a little easier to give orders to your troops.
-
I believe that you need to wait for the 1.01 patch.

Congratulations! Have you decided on a college yet?

You have been hanging around these forums too longs when you know the following: what the Blind Man with Sleeves award is and who won it. What the Iron Man award is and who won it. Who commands the ICV-Necromancer. Remember GW1 and II. Have ever seen Pandora post. Remember the "old girl" (2.0 codebase) being laid to rest Can name at least three people whose registration date is listed as "a long time ago!" Know the differance between the nicknames Raven and Crow and to whom they refer. (Bonus, name his ship) Have fun!

NP, glad you found it.

Ic, it shouldn't make too much of a difference, just look for the section "Docked Operationstrading" in the manual index. I don't think the location for planet info has changed at least since BC3K 2.0.
