I bought it and tried it out for half an hour. It's late at night. It's interesting so far. However, the combat goes a little quick and sometimes its hard to get a lock on the target. The combat module is a little unique and difficult to master at first. The key configurations are messed up from the start, which sucks. It feels like there are a few ship commands missing as well. Also, the graphics are a little more consuming than i expected. You can expect a full review from me early this week, because i won't have a life for the next 7 days.

Any one ever taken the Mensa test? Any thoughts on it regardless if you've taken it or not?

It's a shame that they had to let off good people. Oh well, lets hope some of their fans flock your way SC!

Anonymous hacked the website of HBGary and posted this as an image on the site. HBGary is a a private security firm that has been helping the Feds track down the invidiuals behind a number of DDoS attacks on companies like Amazon, Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, and others, after they suspended service to Wikileaks. The CEO's twitter account was also hacked and used to send offensive messages and his home address, cellphone number, and social security number. DailyKOS reports that HBGary backups were deleted and Forbes claims that other HBGary executives had their LinkedIn profiles hacked. According to krebsonsecurity.com, the HBGary site was compromised by getting a security administrator to give them complete access to one of the company's sites by way of social engineering techniques. http://www.thinq.co.uk/2011/2/7/anonymo ... lping-fbi/

I don't have AAW so i can't give you any comparisons. You don't walk around in capital ships in the UC series but in AAW it is there. But it is to my knowledge that AAW is a first person shooter, and you have no control over cap ships, only fighters, vehicles, and gunships. UCCE you can do everything, but ground combat i imagine isn't as enjoyable as in AAW. I dislike it very much in the UC series, so my marines tend dying fighting 15+ intruders onboard my Engstrom instead.. I just find the ground combat horrific. Also, if your going to start playing UCCE 2.0, i suggest not choosing the Engstrom Carrier unless you like being overpowered. The turrets blow everything out of the sky, and the only thing capable of taking down your shields are the missiles launched by most space stations. You kill every ship like a knife through butter; basically there is no challenge playing with it. I've already gotten quite bored with it.

I personally find multiplayer fun when its with multiple people, not a 1v1. However, the host needs to have a good connection, otherwise gameplay will lag, and that is not fun when there is more than a 1 second delay. I'm not qualified to tell you if you should or should not buy it.

There's a newer version than the free released singleplayer? The latest patches I see on 3000AD's site don't list higher than this version D: What's the latest version? I'm half-tempted to just buy the newest version if I have to and install it on an XP virtual machine if the newest release doesn't work on Win7 for me, but I'm not sure if that will help my issue. Does the fact that my keyboard is USB and not PS/2 have any hold on the issue? I know some older games have issues with USB peripherals (though I guess my mouse wouldn't work either, wouldn't it?) Oh man you don't know what your missing out. There are two latest versions of UC. UCCE 1.14 and 1.2 1.14 is new and fixes most bugs. 1.20 is the newest and it features entirely new graphics. Not recommended if your graphics card sucks. This is a standalone upgrade. If you want to go to/back to the 1.14 patch, you will need to reinstall the entire game all over again and then patch it to 1.14. Both have much more versatility than the free version.

I'm here. This damn forum is always giving me some sort of issues when im trying to write or add a reply.

um Try running it in compatibility mode. If that doesn't work, then i'm not sure. You can try re-puggling your keyboard when you're in that screen. If you haven't restarted your computer at all, then do that. Which version of which game are you running? Newer ones tend to be more stable and full less of bugs...

D'oh! Sounds like my type of game from the way you describe it.

If you pay for it, i'll gladly be willing to test it out. I like first person shooters with a twist of space combat, like Reach

Yeah, they will start showing the last 10 episodes beginning in April. SyFy has a bunch of dickhead executives thats what it is. All they do is cancel good shows even shows that are generating enough viewers they still cancel. I wish some other company would pick up SGU but it won't happen.

those bastards i found out yesterday

I looked at it and it looks interesting. Might take a shot at the demo when i have time. However, these game developers set such high requirements in order to run their damn games. Has it occured to them that they might attract more people if the game was a little less CPU consuming? I mean, just look at the recommended requirements. Most ordinary gamers don't have that tech unless they aren't on a limited budget. And since there are no other types of requirements, that is to be assumed to be the min. requirements in any case.

Unrepairable fighter (UCCE 2.0)

Because you made hostiles so i don't have to do it myself. -
Unrepairable fighter (UCCE 2.0)

So are you saying i should fly straight at a group of hostiles without a shield? Because my main life support is at 57% right now, and it has been for the last couple of days. NOt to mention everything on deck 1 is always under constant repair when its already at 100%, especially bridgeviewer and the bridge . I've also been having those same issues with my fighters time to time. Although i can afford to destroy and replace them :| -
Woah, that was a really close call huh? I just had another one happen recently. I was in Gamma-1, and i clumsily destroyed Hexar station instead of capturing it. Used my Engstrom to take it out, only with EMD, no cloak. My shields dropped to 20% at the lowest. Over powered carrier ftw. So anyways, a minute after when i was checking my assets and etc., my shields stopped functioning. Apparently, i ran out of plutonium. So i jumped to the planet, and what do you know. A couple of fighters follow me. I turned on EMD and turned my PTA towards them. What i didn't know, incidentally, that i was going straight for a fighter that my PTA was about to destroy. And thats when things started getting BAD. My PTA blew up the fighter and i flew straight into the explosion. The shrapnel took my hull down 2%, damaged a couple systems on deck 3 to 95%, and totally F'd over my nuclear reactor. The officers rattled on while i was positioning myself for maximum solar power. The engines even managed to work for a minute so i could slow down (thank you solar battery ) I checked logistics, and it my NR was destroyed, and i was a core housing unit short. I cleared the radiation. Tried calling for a tow, luckily i realized could still turn my Nuclear reactor on in short bursts so comm, tactical, and sub-light engines could work. Unluckily, no one was there. Went in my fighter, blowing up ships looking for a core housing unit in the pods. Gave up eventually. Didn't feel like towing a broken ship, with 4 intruder-caused missing assets and about 16 intruders that were also fiddling around with Resnig's porn collection on the sub-deck. It's a close call because i saved 10 minutes before in the system below Gamma-1. Thank god i decided to save over my trip in the Pravis system. Phew.
