Guest John Stone Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 Greetings fellow Commanders, Pilots, and Marines; Does anyone have any tips advice, or strategies on how to successfully trade commodities. How do you what items to buy low and where to sell high? Also, does anyone know how to speed up the passage of time in the game. Real-time is cool, and great, but most sims provide a way to speed up time, especially for travel or waiting at a base / planet / systems / etc for attackers. Traveling on the surface of the planet can become a real bore as hour upon hour of nothing to do but fly in empty airspace drags on until arrival. I've actually gone to bed once waiting for things to happen, got up in the morning to resume. Repairs and mining would also be great benefactors of such a sped up time passage. If such a feature is not built into the game, it should be. Would there then be any way to 'tweak' the game to make it do such? Looking forward to hearing from you guys, thanks in advance.

This means buy from low inflation star stations and sell at high inflation bases. Use your shuttle early on, it makes a great trading vessel. Check you manual appendix for details on inflation rates. quote: Real-time is cool, and great, but most sims provide a way to speed up time, especially for travel or waiting at a base / planet / systems / etc for attackers. This ain't most sims. Real time is real time, no cheating. I personally like this, maybe there's a cheat to bypass it but I'm not aware of it. Its a very fundamental design decision and its not going to change. Have fun!
Wolferz Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 If you are trying to pass time to train up your crew AI. I always make sure the CC has plenty of fuel for reactor and sheilds, then I just park the cc on some safe planet or moon, go to bed and leave the game running. I had my RE up in the 40 ish AI range until some intruders boarded, headed straight for the lab and killed her. I was So Pissed, I tied Resnig to a tow cable and drug him through one of Earths oceans for awhile. Ignorant bastard! After that I put him on KP for a month, Right after emergency airlock procedure drills. Two days worth.

This is where all the documentation is hidden (you can also find it in the install folder in a sub-folder called....docs). Read the Troubleshooting FAQ (file bcmgfaq.html) and search for cheat. WARNING, the -cheat commandline is not officially supported. Use it at your own risk.
