mrjingo Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Hi, I don't know if this is limited to my system alone but, when docked to the station orbiting Europa, navigating to the TRADCOM menu causes a CTD everytime. I don't know if this happens at other stations or not.

EDIT: I've just reproduced it in 1.00.01 but not in 1.00.02. Looks like an INI file out of whack. I'm on it. Supreme Cmdr Posted February 7, 2004 Report Posted February 7, 2004 Download this data file and unzip the contents (with folders intact) into your game folder. It will ask you to overwrite two files. Do that. You may need to start a new profile IF your existing profile exhibits the same problem even with these update INI files. The upcoming 1.00.02 patch will have these files as part of the distribution.

The reason I didn't post in this thread was because this thread seemed to be specific to a single star station. Mine happens on any star station or star base, and the fix posted here does nothing to help it. Although I will grant that I haven't actually been to that particular moon and maybe if the fix only works on that station it would work there, I dunno. Anyway, I'll just say that I'm having the same problem as the original poster.
Supreme Cmdr Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 This one is top of my list to investigate tomorrow because one of the testers is reporting a similar issue. It looks like its the save game thats causing the problem. Try it without first saving the game, just to confirm this.
Pwnman Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 OK I tried roaming around without saving to test it some more and it still crashed once I went to tradecom after about 30 minutes of roaming. I did do an off-duty resume in the middle of it, if that counts as a save I don't know. I tried to do one before that without the off-duty resume but I had a separate CTD when I tried to exit my CC...not really reproducible.

I deleted my old profile and created a new one, and when I tried to use tradcom, it crashed.... Is there anything I did wrong? thx for your help StanRex
sckid1108 Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 Same here: 1) Start game as a commander of a BC MK2 at Earth2 Genesis Station. Use Tradecom no CTD 2) Save Game & Restore 3) CTD whenever I dock with Genesis station and use tradecom. 4) I also "patched" with the UC_DATA_FILES.zip that SC posted but the CTD persisted. I tried creating a new profile but I also ran into the same problem. This is a easily reproduced problem since it happens everytime.

My friend (who I convinced to get in Battlecruiser after I got BCMG) just got UC, but came across the CTD when trying to access Tradecom as well. P.S. I am trying to put my order for UC through EB, but it is taking some time as they are checking up on my visa card since I am in Australia I can't wait (been playing it on my friends computer).
