That's right for the first time in a year in a half it's not a winky eye happy face...It's a blue sad scared face...Why? I saw somthing yesterday that scared the hell out of me and I just had to get it off my chest here because I know you guys will listen.

It started out at about 10:00 yesterday morning my friend called me (We'll call her Mary...Just to protect her) she wanted me to help her with moving out of her house because her X had left in a tizzy that morning over her not wanting to sleep with him one last time. His name is Jeff and I don't care about protecting his name.

Anyway before all of this happened Jeff had loaned Mary some money so that she could pay the bills for the month...They had broken up only a couple weeks after moving in together but nither could move out and so they both made the best of things. Jeff had put a down payment on a tatoo the day I was going to help her move Fifty dollars. She had taken out One Hundred from his account after he gave her his pin number and his card.

Anyway I was helping her move the tv stand (We're strong we can really handle heavy stuff) and he showed up. I really thought nothing of it. He told Mary. "Here let me help you with that you'll hurt yourself." Well me being there she was obviously not going to hurt herself and Mary said "No thank you." We went into the house after loading the car with the tv stand and went to her room...We saw that Jeff was pulling matresses out of his room and moving all of his stuff so we ignored him.

We were going to move her dresser next so we were pulling out the drawers...We lifted up the dresser and were moving when all of a sudden he was in the doorway. His eyes were clouded like he didn't really even see us.

Door -> Jeff -> Mary ->Dresser -> Me and the rest of the bedroom.

So I tried to get by Jeff but he shoved me back...We were trapped in the room and all he could say was "I want my money." Mary calmly explained to him that she owed him a hundred. He insisted that she owed him a hundred and thirty...Anyway so Mary continued saying that he had to pay his part of the phone bill which was fifty five bucks so she said she'd give him fourty five which when you add it up is a hundred.

He refused...By this time he was violently shaking Mary so that she was constantly hitting the dresser and cut her hand...At lest I think that's when it happened. He was threatening to call the police and was yelling that "If I don't get my hundred and thirty now I lose another fifty tonight!" (That was for his irrisponsible tatoo by the way). Okay so Mary insists that she dosen't want to fight...Meanwhile I'm pacing the room trying to find a way out but seeing none! I'm panicking! I thought he was going to kill us right then and there!

Suddenly he pushes Mary violently aside so that she hits the wall and throws the dresser accross the room saying that. "This dresser is worth about fifty five dollars I'll just wreck this!" Meanwhile I'm still panicking and I manage to bolt past him down the hall. I pick up the phone to dial 911 and the phone is dead...It had been disconnected because everyone was moving out.

In the room I can hear her hitting the floor, he's hitting her and banging her against the wall. I just want to run away but I've known Mary since I was born and I couldn't. I can't go back in but I can hear her crying and screaming. Then he comes out and Mary is right behind him she's bleeding from a wound in her hand pretty badly.

Since I've never seen or had this happen to me before I try and stay away from both of them...Jeff tries to make up with Mary who tells him to get out of the house...He's still insisting on the one hundred and thirty dollars but he dosen't get violent again.

She comes outside and sits on the porch with me and then for the first time in nineteen years that I've known her she crys. I have NEVER seen Mary cry. NEVER. So all I can do is hold her...She's shaking like a leaf her hand is dripping blood and she's crying because this was the breaking point. Her father is dying, her brother keeps getting into problems and now this.

So then the new tenant comes by with her kid. I'm so scared by that time I don't know what to do. I explain the situation to the new tenant and she is very VERY concerned. She tells us to call the police right away....

So here I am. My friend is a mess...I'm scared to go outside my house...And I don't know what to do.

I had to write it all down here because I know you guys would understand. This is just way to much for me right now. Wish I knew what to do...

I've never had to deal with this before. I'm a good kid! I don't understand why people are so angry.

Tell us that you called the police and if you haven't you do it right now. That's not a suggestion, no it's really not.

I concur with the previous statements. There is NO reason for a man to EVER hit a wonman, I don't care who she is.

Is it chivalry or chauvinism? I don't really care, women should be, at the very least, treated with respect and courtesy. Any man that would act violently against women should be first run out of town on a rail in a very literal sense and then locked away.

Definitely call the police. And get documents. Get the police report. Take your friend to the doctor and get a copy of that report. Take pictures. Take pictures of the injury. Take pictures of the damaged property. Take pictures of the residence if any damage was done to that.

I'm sorry this happened to you and your friend. Be prepared to protect yourself and your friend.

I'd give you a cyber cookie but I put too much sugar in the last batch and they aren't quite right. Would a hug do?

Take care.

Akuma I hope your friend was not hurt to bad. You need to call the police you can't let him get away with it!! If he does he will do it again to someone else. He needs to learn how wrong his actions were and get help to be able to control his anger.

Definitely call the police!! No if's, and's, or but's. Make a report, press charges, teach this guy that that type of behavior is unnacceptable.

Any man that hits a woman, should be strung up by his privates and stoned. This is not chivalrous or chauvinistic, this is just the way it is!!!

I know how you feel, at least to some extent.

I know someone (I won't name names) who suffers from severe Depression (the psychiatric disorder). Before we found some medication that worked, there were several occasions when the following happened. First, the person becomes very withdrawn, as if they're thinking in fast forward, and ignores your attempts to talk to them. That's the sign. I can always tell when this person is going to snap, but I can't do anything about it because any attempt to calm them down only aggravates them. By this time they're incapable of reason. All I can do is wait for this person to start screaming, throwing fists at walls and doors, throwing objects across the room, and pacing around with a wild look in the eyes. This type of thing lasts from half an hour to two hours, and in some cases the person will injure themselves in a fit of rage. After that, the person starts to slow down, and realizes what they are doing. In some cases, they start crying for as long as an hour afterwards. It's very painful just to watch it happening, especially to someone you've known for a long time. I consider myself very lucky that this person is normally very gentle in nature, because those fists could have been hitting me if that wasn't the case.

I suggest you ask Mary first. If she wants to call the police, let her do it. If she doesn't want to, then you do it. In any case, doing nothing is not an option, because Jeff obviously has some issues that need to be addressed.

Akuma, I'm so sorry to hear about your experience.

It is imperative you protect both yourself and your friend. You need to contact the police. If he shoved you, as you explained, then by touching you without your consent, he has committed an assault against you as well as your friend. If you haven't already contacted the police, it's not too late - they are trained to deal with matters such as this after the event, and they understand that fear and apprehension often make it difficult for victims of an assault to talk about it for some time afterwards. Contact the police and ask for an apprehended violence order, or whatever the Canadian equivalent is. This will prevent him approaching you. If he breaches this, contact the police immediately because he can be charged.

Considering the evidence - your friends' injury, and the fact that you were a witness to his actions - he will probably be charged anyway. But get an order regardless, because there is always the chance he will be allowed off on bail until a court hearing. As well as this, there is also the fact that (as callous as it sounds, and the legal system is a callous thing) it improves your chances of being believed in court. And lastly - stay as far away from him as you can. Don't approach him. Don't try and talk to him. You might have a thousand questions for him, but believe me - none of them are worth it.

What has happened to you and your friend is extremely serious. You need to talk to someone about it, and as flattered as we are that you have chosen us, we can't offer you the same things as a professional counsellor can. Even if you think you are coping with it, talk to a counsellor. The police will be able to refer you to someone; if not, your local doctor should be able to. Talk to a professional. Experiences like that come back to haunt you; if not dealt with, they can colour the rest of your life.

Take this from someone who knows.

Everything above goes the same for your friend.

I hope that you pull through this. Everyone on this board is thinking of you, and you are in our prayers, for those of us who pray. For those of us who don't pray, you are in our thoughts. For those of us who don't think...well, maybe this will get us all thinking.

Hmmmmmm

The views I have here are my own.

How can you even think about calling the police, he has just treated a woman like a punching bag.

He needs far more than police or lawyers he needs a good solid chair leg through his neck and call it self defense.

If your not upto that then here is the even more politically uncorrect way of dealing with scum, you see even within the criminal element of our society there is rules and hirarchy and wife or lady beaters are kinda low lifes even by there standards (I once used this avenue myself to help a friend being in a biker gang when I was a young en).

There is certain bullitin boards and newsgroups inhabited by Lifes rule breakers if totally innocently his name and address and details on what he did found there way onto these places, he may have an interesting time of it and believe me what some of these guys think of as erm interesting times would give most of you a heart attack and even saying them would get me permanently banned from this board.

Akuma I'm sorry you hadto see this side of life, sadly I've seen too much of this kind of thing.

I hate bullies like this they are total scum

like with all bullies its that feeling of power they get when they beat on someone weaker than them, they are the ones who only start fights they can win.

Wish I knew his full name and address he wouldn't be smiling for long

CALL THE POLICE its not an option just do it, if Mary won't then you have to, you were a witness and he needs to be sorted out or he'll just keep getting worse.

Don't let her become a victim like so many others out there. She needs to send him a message and the police are the best way to do it.

I don't really know if calling the police would be a good idea or not. Sometimes these guys won't give a damn unless u a)go over 5 mph on the speed limit or b)other traffic offences. I KNOW from personal experience that they just don't care. When my wife was pregnant a burglar broke into my house (while I was out working). Being a bit of a hot head (bless her) she confronted the burglar (whom she knows the identity) and tried to push him out of the house. He then reacted by shoving her to the ground, proceded to steal a lap-top and left the house as if nothing had happened.

Now when I heard about it (five hours later as my wife was still in shock) I decided to call the police. The police DID arrest the guy but he had to be let off because of 'insufficient evidence'. Over the next few weeks the guy tried to wreck havoc on our lives and began scratching my car, breaking the fence and doing all sort of things which caused my wife to have a nervous breakdown (while pregnant). Again I contacted the local bobbies but guess what? insufficient evidence again.

After several weeks my wife gave birth to our beautiful kid and I knew if I did nothing my wife and child would be terrorised for the rest of their lives. So I just cracked-up and broke a promise that i have kept to my wife for 2 years - I decided to lay the sh*t out of that heroin induced scum-bag (not really my choice of word to describe this guy but hey). The scariest thing was I enjoyed it and like riding a bike u never forget how to. I ended the fight by putting him in a chock-hold till he passed out and the only thing that stoped me from going any further is the thought of my wife and child living alone with me in jail. Anyway he tried to get me arrested but nobody seems to care and as he was high up on drugs he could not remember when this happened. After that incident he left our estate a week later and was never seen again (its been almost 2 years now). Ironically i DID get in trouble with the police a week later. I got caught doing 85mph in a 70 mph zone.

Now I don't really think my path is the one u should follow but please try to think of the consequences when u get involved (by calling the cops or by taking matters in your own hands). Remember the most important things when reporting to the police are witnesses and tons of evidence. Otherwise it will all be in vain and guess who this guy is gonna look for next? Good luck and hope you get to resolve this soon.

Let me put down some reason.

No man should ever initiate a physical confrontation with a Woman. However, this being your friend, use your past knowledge to guide you as to what to do.

The best answer is to get HER to call the police. Make her take responsibility. I have seen women get passive in these situations out of fear. It will take both the police AND her to stop this. If you overstep her instead of push her, you may not be helping her in the long run.

I was in a similar situation once. Where returning to a girl's house from a date revealed her step dad had decked her moms (he had been drinking). She knows where the phone is and she knows 911. I left.

I understand the pressure you must have felt, especially you being trapped in that room. I think he purposely inflicted that pressure/intimidation. He knew she couldn't pull $50 out of thin air in the middle of that room. Glad that relationship is over so soon.

I sympathize. The police know how to handle it, I hope she calls.

Thank you so much guys. I think I'll call Mary and see if she's done anything. Heh. On the brighter side of life I'm moving in with Foss in two weeks. Now he'll post more often! Yea!

Geez, thats more fratenization than I like to see going on between two of my officers. Besides, what does this mean for you and me, honey?

Ah, dont answer that ..

Hi Folks.

I had a similar thing last saturday night, while out for a night with my wife.

A couple of youths were hassling some young girls at a taxi stand, so I had to step in.

They left the girls alone, and then proceeded to get into me.

Now I'm no slouch, 6'1 and solid but I still ended up with a suspected fractured cheekbone, 2 black eyes, a fat lip & chipped teeth. (fun what a few kicks to the head will do)

No point ringing the cops, as they did a runner as soon as a taxi pulled up, and I didn't fancy filling in @#$%in police reports for 3 hours. They did leave the girls alone after that, which was my main aim, and I'd more than likely do the same if I saw it happening again.

Like you all said, theres no room on this planet or any other planets in the BCM galaxys for scum bags that treat females like that, and sometimes getting the cops involved can be more hassle than its worth.

Tho in Akuma's case, a restraining order could be in order.

Cheers

Dazzer

Damn. I think I'm gonna have to have my radioactive garden gnomes form a new rapid-deployment patrol squadron.... if any of you women out there start getting hassled and all of a sudden see the guy run off with a plethora of darkly-clothed small objects clinging to his back, don't be surprised
