I wish all of you success in love too ) In the same time I'd like to know what resolution(s) you people decided to abide to. Personally, I decided to stop being lazy. I pass too much time doing nothing even if I'm not so tired. I don't put enough of my mind in action when I'm trying to learn something - such as those damn cpp tutorials. Raven Posted January 1, 2003 Report Posted January 1, 2003 Yes, well I resolve to continue my resolution from last year, which is to say that I resolve to do as I please, striving to speak (and even more so to type) in a manner that is both technically correct and convoluted, to be even more irritable and capricious, to take strong stances on topics I know less about, and to generally behave in a manner coinciding with a concept of civilized behavior that only superficially resembles others ideas of civilized and includes blatant disregard for fact while ranting at uncivilized persons who criticize this most sacred (and perpetually dynamic) code. I resolve to be both officious and impertinent, and yet never to take myself to seriously, and thus to affect an air if irreverence and smug superiority while behaving in a manner that is most condescending and irksome to those around me, and to derive pleasure from the vexation that my whimsical behavior produces in others. I resolve to laugh louder, to cackle, and to cultivate a sense of humor this is both obscure and opaque, making sense only to those few that I deign to explain myself to, thus taking pleasure both in mystifying those around me and in proving my own intellectual superiority while convulsing with convoluted humor at the same time. I resolve to eschew and consider repugnant such labors as others consider an aspect of everyday existence, to preserve my appearance though strict abstinence from unseemly manual activities that put undo strain on my epidermis and thus cause unsightly tearing or calluses (such as cutting bread) while affecting open disgust for people who, either through choose, manipulative incompetence, or the lowness of there birth, find the need to have rough or dirty hands or skin that is anything short of fair, be they male or female. I resolve to maintain my dignity by wearing impractical and expensive clothing that is unsuited to the occasion, whatever it may be, and to thereby perpetually overdress and thus demonstrated my marked superiority in clothing and choice of cosmetics, all the while being extraordinarily vain and generally decrying other uncouth individuals who feel that plaid shirts are suitable attire for even the most degrading of manual labor, not to mention social gatherings of any sort and to continue the Greek tradition of reviling all things that are ugly while considering those persons possessed of beauty and elegance to be supreme, placing myself above all others by arbitrarily defining my appearance as the epitome of beauty by which all lesser beings are measured. In other words I resolve to continue being myself, only even worse then I was last year.

Guest Grayfox Posted January 2, 2003 Report Posted January 2, 2003 happy new year. i resolve to not change anything about myself at all, and to remain single. its just part of what makes me so loveable ill smoke (except in front of my boy), ill drink (except in front of my boy), ill curse (except in front of my boy), ill scratch myself when and where i please, and ill never EVER ask for directions... christopher columbus didnt need directions, and neither do i. Thank god for being single no one to nag me about small stuff, no one to tell me how to do something, and i dont have to worry about if the toilet seat is up or down. Lol. now thats what i call prioritizing. maybe ill get off my arse and finish my damn book (it falls between the medium of short story and novel). thankfully im done with school, but work is almost as bad...ick.

I will send Grayfox the package sitting on my computer table that I promise everyday to put in the mail(sorry Fox) 3. I will remember that as much as Jag and DL piss me off no day is complete without reading their always well written diatribes and long for the day we can argue face to face over cold beverages. 4. Stop playing BC3000 and join everyone else in the present. 5. I will stop cursing at the TV during football games. 6. I will drive the speed limit. 7. I will stop cursing at the TV during video football games. I will not buy another joystick because the four I already have are to hard to configure. 8. I will have patience for people afflicted with terminal stupidity , vapidness , vanity , self righteousness and various other shortcomings

Dee-Man Posted January 3, 2003 Report Posted January 3, 2003 Thanks Rosko. It's a massive story about the very first time we attempt greater-than-light space travel. Once I got through the early parts (theme, character development, plot, etc.), I hit the wall in detailing the alien race these brave souls mistakingly encountered. I'm working on a whole new approach to this subject. We'll see.

I'll stop going to school, I'll lose the whole "Job" thing, and I'll stop trying to right my damned novel. I'll date some insane woman that does everything for me so long as I let have my toe-nail clippings and allow her to change my socks. I'll keep smoking, as a matter of fact I'll smoke twice as much so I'll be half as depressed as before! There we go, that should be enough. Oh yah, and I'll stop all that working out stuff. I'm in good enough shape now I can just let it go for a year or two.
