I had to play 600x480 or 800x600 I tried it on higher screen settings but it ran like molasses. The physics and graphis are great. But the video options didn't have and Advanced submenu all you get to choose is Screen rez and two other options hopefully the full game will have more tweakable video options. Scroll down for more video options. I'm not sure why the game runs so slowly. It doesn't have THAT great of graphics, though they're still good. Oh well, I guess I'll try it on my new computer (All-in-wonder 9800 ). Thanks I'll check that out about the extra options. I don't think it's so much the graphics but the physics of the game that's slowing it down. The lighting and shadow effects from the fire cans look real cool. I love tossing things at people. There's a little back hallway in the bar where a thug is walking and a loose tire. They don't react though the way you think when someone gets hit with bulky items .

  3. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: Thanks LIS!! I like the guy one better. Its a lot funnier and the guy really nailed it. My pleasure. Yah, that guy is perfect. Just the expressions and the girl's voice coming outa his mouth right to the end when she/he stops speaking and just gives you that stare. The second best one is the old lady one where she's skimming her pool talking like the guy who ripped her identity off the third best is the girl in the beauty parlor.
  4. Ugh, I'm losing my mind here's the thread I was looking for so I can post the link to the citi card commercials. Okay here's the poop I zipped up two commercials for now The one where the guy talks like a girl (this is the complete one finally) and another one where a woman talks like a guy with this buggy laugh . I had started another thread where I had links to two seperate files the guy one (which was incomplete) and an old lady one I'm sure some of you musta gotten the old lady one by now so I've replaced it with the woman talks like a man one. If you don't have the old lady one, you'll have to wait cause my 10mb web page has no space left. Thanks SC for taking care of the new topic I started didn't mean to give you more work but I just kept missing this thread. Just left click on the link and it will start the download. CITI_THEFT.ZIP ENJOY!!
  5. Well I tried out Return of the King for the PC. The short of it is I give it a 5 out of 10 only for the Graphics, Sound track and Movie Cutscenes. Other than that, this games leaves much to be desired. The levels are short and what developers did to overcome this shortcoming is make the levels intollerably hard with no sub chapter saves. For example, you play as Aragorn in King of the Dead level. Okay that king is very hard enough to kill then you are made to make haste out of the cave while it's collapsing battling the entire way while being chased by the cave-in. I was alsmost out they just kept sending waves of dead knights and the cave in finally caught up with me and I died. I selected retry but it seems that the developers made it even more difficult the second time around by having the cave-in timed just right behind ya tally around for just a second and you're history. Well needless to say I got tired of this and quit the game. Went back in some time later and guess what you have to start that level all over again from the dead king to the escape outa the cave. All I can say is that I can see alot of broken joysticks just from this frustration. This is just one example. And the game also reminds me why I hate console ports the controls and camera angles. Also, This game would have been alot more re-playable and enjoyable if you could play Co-op online for the PC rather than having to wait 'till someone is visiting and play together on the same computer. I really wanted to like this game because the demo was good.
  6. I was watching tech tv and they mentioned the DMCA and it's problems so I investigated and found quite a few abuses of this law. DMCA Here are a few excerpts: quote:Sony Threatens Aibo Hobbyist Sony has also invoked the DMCA against a hobbyist who developed custom programs for SonyÔÇÖs Aibo robotic ÔÇ£petÔÇØ dog. The hobbyist cracked the encryption surrounding the source code that manipulates the Aibo to reverse engineer programs that allow owners to customize voice recognition by their Aibos. The hobbyist revealed neither the decrypted source code nor the code he used to defeat the encryption, freely distributed his custom programs, and made no profit. Nevertheless, Sony claimed that the act of circumÔÇôventing the encryption surrounding the source code violated the DMCA and demanded that the hobbyist remove his programs from his website. Responding to public outcry, Sony ultimately permitted the hobbyist to repost some of his programs (on the understanding that Sony will have the rights of commercial development in the programs). The incident, however, illustrated SonyÔÇÖs willingness to invoke the DMCA in situations with no relationship to ÔÇ£piracy.ÔÇØ David Labrador, "Teaching Robot Dogs New Tricks,"Scientific American, Feb. 12, 2002. quote:Apple Harasses Inventive Retailer When Other World Computing (OWC), a small retailer specializing in Apple Macintosh computers, developed a software patch that allowed all Mac owners to use AppleÔÇÖs iDVD software, they thought they were doing AppleÔÇÖs fans a favor. For their trouble, they got a DMCA threat from Apple. AppleÔÇÖs iDVD authoring software was designed to work on newer Macs that shipped with internal DVD recorders manufactured by Apple. OWC discovered that a minor software modification would allow iDVD to work with external DVD recorders, giving owners of older Macs an upgrade path. Apple claimed that this constituted a violation of the DMCA and requested that OWC stop this practice immediately. OWC obliged. Rather than prevent copyright infringement, the DMCA empowered Apple to force consumers to buy new Mac computers instead of simply upgrading their older machines with an external DVD recorder. Declan McCullagh ÔÇ£Apple: Burn DVDsÔÇöand WeÔÇÖll Burn You,ÔÇØ CNET News, Aug. 28, 2002. quote:Disgruntled Ex-employer Sues For Unauthorized Network Access In April 2003, an automated stock trading company sued a former contract programmer under the DMCA, claiming that his access to the companyÔÇÖs computer system over a password-protected Virtual Private Network tunnel connection was an act of circumvention. Pearl Investments had employed the programmer to create a software module for its software system. In order to complete the work remotely, the programmer connected a separate server to the companyÔÇÖs server, to which he connected from a VPN tunnel from his office. Although the contractor created a very successful software module for the company, the relationship turned frosty after the company ran into financial difficulties and terminated the contractorÔÇÖs contract. The company sued the contractor when it discovered the contractorÔÇÖs server connected to the its system, claiming electronic trespass, violation of the anti-hacker legislation, the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) and violation of the DMCAÔÇÖs anti-circumvention provisions. Pearl claimed that it had taken away the authorization it had previously given to the contractor to access its system through the password-protected VPN and that the VPN connection was therefore unauthorized. The Court rejected the companyÔÇÖs electronic trespass and CFAA claims due to lack of evidence of any actual damage done. Even though the second server was not being used by the programmer at the time, and its hard drive had been accidentally wiped, the court agreed with Pearl that the existence of the VPN was a prohibited circumvention of a technological protection measure that controlled access to a system which contained copyrighted software. As the DMCA has no harm threshold, the anti-circumvention provisions are open to misuse by unscrupulous companies who seek to avoid paying former employees or contractors by revoking authority previously granted and then alleging circumvention. Pearl Investments LLC v. Standard I/O, Inc., 257 F. Supp. 2d 326 (D.Me., April 23, 2003).
  7. There is one big annoyance I find with this video and that is I WASN'T PLAYING!! Very, very cool though. Where is air support when ya need it. Order an airstrike on that hot spot then go in and mop up. When all is said and done come back to base and then send out the landscaping contractor to resurface the ground and replant all the trees. quote:Original post Jaguar: I played one game where one of the AI's was shooting at the same target I was, and the stupid jerk killed me instead. I can't remember the game, but I remember how PO'd I was that I got killed by one of my own guys. LOLThat is called realism. There isn't a war that has ever been fought were there hasn't been an instance of friendly fire casualties on either side of the conflict.

But I have seen what goes on at most of them and just don't want to get involved in all that. BTW: Not to change the subject (and to save making another post) but I've finally fired up the BCMG on my new 19" monitor. Held my breath as I went and put it up to 1600x1200 32bit. Damn it runs baby smooth better than on my old 15" at 1024x768. As it turns out, my old monitor was definitely holding me back.

Bye Bye alien abducted emoticon . Question, as long as it's not in sig box, can I still post that in the main body of the message? If you are doing it as a one time thing, no because we are supposed to LINK to images not post them outright on the forum to save bandwidth. If you are trying to circumvent the "no unauthorized sig pics" rule just stated by not putting it in the sig but still using it as a sig image, no. Basically NO. So I guess that's a no. . I have no problem with that. I wasn't going to even bother leaving images unless I needed to emphasis a post as I have done in the past. Actually, I was just experimenting with the GIFS uploading them to my web site and linking them into here. And I did forget about the bandwidth sorry about that. I'm sure my question was useful for all the other Cadets and Ensigns. quote:Originally posted by Cmdr_ Laracuente: i dont want to sound like a fool, but is there something wrong in my signature?... you know, theres only text on it but i wanna be sure. Rubbish. Not only did BCM Gold have a lot more features than BCM, to even say that UC is the same game as BCM is just braindead stupid. And the game is part of a series (look up the word in a dictionary when you find time), therefore, several aspects will be the same or similar. Now piss off and go post that crap over on the DC forums. You think we don't know that Delta1 and DeltaBravo (on DC forums) are the same person? The fact that you've posted the same rubbish more than once - and nobody replied - should be a clue I think. Oh boy, another poser eh...
  14. Thought you guys would get a kick outa this one UNDERSTANDING WOMEN: THE POINT SYSTEM For thousands of years, men have tried to understand the rules when dealing with women. Finally, this merit/demerit guide will help you to understand just how it works. Remember, in the world of romance, one single rule applies: Make the woman happy. Here is a guide to the point system: SIMPLE DUTIES You make the bed.....+1 You make the bed, but forget to add the decorative pillows.....0 You throw the bedspread over rumpled sheets....-1 You leave the toilet seat up.....-5 You replace the toilet paper roll when it is empty......0 When the toilet paper roll is barren, you resort to Kleenex.....-1 When the Kleenex runs out you use the next bathroom.....-2 (Got the idea? 15. quote:Originally posted by Vanethian: Hello!!! you said Vanethian??? PUFF! Here i am in a smoke and lightning effect Thank you, Derek!!! Thank you very much for your words!!! I suggest all of you guys to don't pump the volume too much as soon as you'll start the game or you'll risk to make your building crumble to dust!!! (is correct english grammar? oh well ). It would be cool to buy an HIFI SYSTEM only for this great game... UC deserves it!!! And if you know a guy who annoys you and you hate him and he lives next to you... what about putting a sub woofer aside his window, at late night, and ... hey, using that fabulous SP911, clicking like a mad??? hehehehe Universal Combat - good to play, good to use it against jerks! Greetings Vanethian. As for a HI-FI system here's my little power house JVC Home Theater and I have full sized speakers none of those mini imitation ones for me. Luckily, I live in Manhattan so blasting this reciever is no big deal. Whenever I play my FPS's down to BCMG, the locals just think it's another drug war errupting no big deal. In other words, nobody notices.
  16. quote:Originally posted by Emmett.hendrick: got this little Gem as soon as it came out over here and it's very well recommended. As well as being my first real venture into online RPG's I have to say I'm really enjoying my expierence with this game. I love the fact that if you don't like the way your character is devoloping you can surrender skills that you don't want and put them in to something else. Adventuring is really fun and skill progression is easy and well explained. The in game Helper's are excellent are always ready to help with any question you may have. In short I would recommend this game if you are a fan or if you like MMORPG's But what's up with those dancing wookies!! I mean I know that when you watch them you get healed but common... Egads they look rediculous...

I┬┤m happy with it at present but if it┬┤s really like you say, and it could be much better, perhaps I'm on time to change it. Thanks That's why I have never bought a pre-configured computer but build my own. I at least know what's being put into the computer case. quote:Originally posted by Kneecaps: Graphics card is probably the most important part of a system for a gamer. Example, i have a 2 year old self built Athlon 1ghz machine (640mb ram etc etc), Geforce 2 GTS (very fast card for the time!). I recently built a Athlon XP 2400 (512mb DDR ram) etc for my wife, and purchased a Nvidia FX5200 to go in it. After 10 mins of using the new computer with new games like halo etc I could tell something was wrong. It seemed slower than my 2 year old graphics card. All the tests benchmarks, games etc told me that the new computer (FX5200) was performing worse on the same games than the (GF II GTS).Very true, I've always said that a video card can make or break a system. My current video card is a Radeon 9000 pro it was an upgrade from my VOODOO 3000 (which just wasn't hacking it anymore with the current games) so I did my research and it came down to NVIDIA or ATI boy am I glad I picked the ATI to all the NVIDIA budget cards it's the most bang for the buck as compared to NVIDIA even at 1600x1200 (since I just got my new 19" monitor from a 15") 90% of my games run baby smooth. I never base my decision on company name alone but the features and performance of the target card. Alot of people, I've notice, base most of their decision on brand name. They see a system with say an "NVIDIA" card and they go "WOW NVIDIA IT MUST BE GOOD." Don't believe it! Check the specs of that particular model first. Just because it's tagged with the name "NVIDIA" means diddley-squat and this holds true for even "ATI". Say you are looking in a certain price bracket and see that NVIDIA does indeed have a card that is slightly better than an ATI for the same price then go for the NVIDIA. Well you get the idea.
