  1. Sometimes a format is simply more time effective. If I'm at work and a computer has a problem I'll mess with it for awhile but if I can't figure it out I'll reformat it in a heartbeat because I can reformat and have it built up again before a solution to the original problem could be found. Same goes for my home computers....
  2. I have since watched multiple replays of this event. I now think he should be shot in BOTH knees.
  3. ROFL. Thats hysterical. I wish I coulda seen that. What the hell kind of quote was that, "The sea lions got my boy and I'm never going to see him again." LOL!
  4. Hell yeah, DREADA. I was named...ehh...well...Bandus. :grins: I hated that and I was considered a "masterful" crafter of defenses. In the rare times I wasn't in an engineering suit I was in a sniper suit. But I don't want to go off topic...PM me sometime and we can discuss more. I am very excited to be seeing this game on XBOX actually. I mean, on a computer, you can do so much more because in my opinion it's more open ended. But on that same token, the XBOX has many advantages over a computer. I'm really excited about both titles.... Edit: Woot! My 600th post.
  5. Jesus. SC, that part about needing engineers rocks. When I use to play Tribes and Tribes 2 I was an engineer all night long keeping bases intact. I love doing that.
  6. Silk...you must be talking about: Conquest:Frontier Wars
  7. I doubt he intended to hurt him THAT bad. Though, I think he SHOULD be SEVERLY fined and punished. Maybe shot...but just in the knee or something....
  8. LOL. I think Spindoktor is on to something there....that would be a classic easter egg...

  11. I'll have to get the update for Enigma, I haven't gotten it yet. Thanks for the heads up.
  12. Not blowing anything out of proportion in my opinion. I work in the IS field and I am very familiar with the nature of technology. I understand that sometimes some computers can be defective right out of the box even. However, my problem is that if you go on google and search for Alienware reviews they are nearly almost ALL bad. I definetly should have obviously checked this out before I bought it, but that was my dumb mistake. Fortunately, I've learned that lesson now. Furthermore, I will take it to court because they are planning to charge me a restock fee. Are they seriously going to restock a laptop that is defective? I could eat them alive in court for that... Furthermore, with all due respect, I know how to handle laptops correctly. I did nothing to abuse the laptop or anything of that sort. All software installed was standard stuff. A few games here and there, WinAMP, AIM. I had AdAware and Norton AntiVirus. Other than that there was nothing. Most of the installed software was stuff that Alienware sent me with the laptop. Even if the laptop hadn't failed after 5 days I believe I have justification to feel this way. I wouldn't recommend them because when I called their technical support and customer support people are a bunch of arrogant and abrassive jerks. I had to tell them I was sure I wanted to return the laptop, and I do not exagerate, over 8 times before they would finally let me talk to a customer service rep. THEN I had to ask the customer service rep 6 times for an RMA# because he too was trying to convince me to reconsider. THEN he transfered me to a customer service supervisor who ALSO tried to convince me to reconsider. FINALLY, I hung up on them and called back...got a different supervisor on the phone and I told him I wanted a RMA# and I wasn't going to discuss it with him. In my opinion, I'm not blowing anything out of proportion. I've boxed the laptop up, drafted a letter to the CEO. The package containing the laptop and letter will be signed and certified return receipt because I want him and only him to get it. I refuse to pay a restock fee on a computer that is defective. Especially considering I would not even be returning it if it hadn't been defective in the first place. /me ends rant.
  13. Ok. As I previously stated I paid $4,357 for my Alienware laptop. A pretty hefty sum in my book. After 7 days of use my brand new laptop is dead and needs to be RMAed so they can fix it. I did a bit of looking around and found some pretty bad stuff about Alienware and then confirmed it myself when speaking with their customer service reps. They want to charge me $600 to return the laptop to them. Of course you know....this means war. I'm planning on calling the BBB, Consumer Affairs, and if it comes down to the nitty gritty I'll see about taking them to small claims court. I must say, that I would never recommend Alienware nor will I shop with them again. DUDE! I'm gettin a Dell! :-) [ 03-05-2004, 03:10 PM: Message edited by: Bandus ]
  14. Your signature still is not correct. You really need to fix it. Refer to this thread for instructions on how to do this. http://www.3000ad.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?u...c;f=22;t=000005
  15. I agree completly with Silk on this one. I have no problem with gays, lesbians, or bisexuals however I believe that that type of action should be kept in their own homes. Being gay, lesbian, or bisexual does not make them bad people. However, from a religious perspective marriage is a sacrament with a lot of sanctity to it and I believe that a marriage is sacreligious in the eyes of God and of most Churches around the world. Practically, I agree. The majority of people in the US are against gay marriages however those in power abuse it and ignore the people for politics. I believe it should not be legal and I also stand beside President Bush for standing up to it. Also, I think it's fine to be proud of being gay, lesbian, or bisexual. I'm proud of being heterosexual, however, I don't go out and cram it down peoples throats.
  16. Both OP3s that are in development are really nothing more than glorified player mods. It isn't actual companies that are making the games. I'm not too hopeful to see OP3.
  17. Your definetly sticking your head into the alligators mouth. Do a search. There is a reason it's called UC. There is also a reason it's priced how it's priced.
  18. quote: "I think they're trying to communicate!" Hey! Thats my line Aphelion!
  19. When the little ships first arrive on scene....that is called the startup phase. The SC has said many times in this thread that during the startup phase the ships cannot be damaged. To put it another way. It has been acknowledged that the ships cannot be destroyed. It has also been explained why. The explanation is that they are invulnerable during the startup phase. That is to say, the ships are in the startup phase when they first arrive on scene. Folks, it's intended. Please lets drop it. It's not a bug, a script error, or anything of that nature.

    Hello?

I have my copy of UC, but Tac is in command. We should probably schedule some kind of meeting with all active Wraithers so we can get a bit organized.
  21. Engima:Rising Tide, was a great game. Very underrated, but very fun. I love trying to sink subs with depth charges the old fashioned way. Good times, good times. I like GalCiv because Stardock is continually releasing updates and expansions for it. They really love the game they've created and it shows.
  22. Your network goes down and the first thing you think to do is to send some marines down to check it out and search for intruders.
