  1. Wow, that thread is a great read. If anyone has any questions about the AI in the BC series that'll shed a lot of light on it for you. Ignore the morons that post there though...
  2. Nullspace, seeming a graveyard, yet one of the most dangerous places you can be. Maybe the high AI NPCs that lurk there knew that commander that was using it as a pitstop was not very bright and showed mercy. Derek, did you code AI with mercy? :grins:
  3. About time they did this. I think this ought to put some life back into the game. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/riseof...ew_6089169.html
  4. Ewwww....ahhhhh.
  5. Good imagination. :-)
  6. Or you can just do what people have already said and ingress at a lower speed thus slowing down your speed once your planetside and eliminating all your steps which are ultimately useless.....
  7. Damn it. I see what you said now. I mis read it the first time. Sorry SC. That was the first retarted thing I've done in awhile though. :-)
  8. I've experienced this same issue in the same scenario (IA101). [ 02-10-2004, 08:48 PM: Message edited by: Bandus ]
  9. Ha ha ha. That was a good one.
  10. This sounds like some good news. Master and Commander rocked. I hope he can bring some of that to life in the game. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/piratesofth...ws_6089139.html
  11. Welcome to the scene Almatha. Some of the information you seek regarding UC can be found here: http://www.3000ad.com/products/uc.shtml As a quick answer to your questions though, "Yes, you can land and walk around on any planet (or moon for that matter) that you can see in the game." How did Derek do it? Well, determination, learning from experience, and I'm sure there are a few other explanations of how he did it as well. As for Simcopter, I played that game and it was absolutely outstanding for it's time. As far as an exact count of planets I'm not really sure of the top of my head. I assure you there are enough to keep you busy for weeks and weeks and weeks and that is assuming you go directly to each one, land, and immediately take off to move on to teh next one.
  12. I agree. Military uniforms are part of establishing an espirt de corps. School uniforms are for a completly different purpose.
  13. I've went to private Catholic school from kindergarten until my senior year of high school. Uniforms did NOT kill me. Furthermore, the bottom line is, if you don't like wearing them, go somewhere else. It's not that big of a deal IMHO.
  14. I've tried this as well and had no problem killing stuff. I agree, try a reinstall and see if that helps at all.
  15. Which leads to a possible solution. Make sure ALL drivers are updated to their latest versions.
  16. http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/internet/02/0...d.ap/index.html Doubt it's going to affect Kazaa all that much, but it's interesting nevertheless.
  17. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/farcry/news_6087423.html Whacha gonna do, whacha gonna do when they come for you?
  18. Looks like a cool idea for a game. Is it just me or does half of the website not work? Also, what language is the forums in?
  19. I really enjoyed Outpost and Outpost 2. Outpost 2 was cutting edge when it came out but unfortunately it just didn't launch like it needed to.
  20. You won't get jumped or flamed unless you deserve it. Just remember to keep profanity down to a minimum if non-existent state. Follow the rules and you'll survive, break the rules and I'll kick your butt myself. Well, not really myself, this guy who lives kinda close to me though will do it. ;-)
  21. They could I suppose, but I don't think it would do them much good. I mean, they are saying that by lowering the price to $19.99 the game will sell DOUBLE what it would if it were $39.99. It was THEIR choice to lower the price and Derek could simply say that since the price was dropped he had not the funds nor the time to create a demo.
  22. My fingers, eyes, toes, and anything else I can cross is crossed. Good luck, good hunting, Derek.
  23. Being politically correct drives me nuts. I understand the reasons why people go to great lengths to be politcally correct, however, in the end it doesn't do any good in my opinion. Take this thing whole argument over Grand Theft Auto Vice City saying, "kill the Hatians." They called it an "incitement to genocide." I mean, for christs sake...thats a bit melodramatic wouldn't you say? I am like you Jaguar, I don't sit around re-reading things I type to insure that a word I used might be taken out of context and that it MIGHT offend someone...I don't have time for that kind of BS...
  24. I thought they squeaked. *squeak, squeak*
  25. I absolutely agree with everything said previously. This is one of the best movies in the last few years. Easily gets my rating. 10/10
