Well, DarkHorizon, you'll have it tough the first several months, but once you are finished with bootcamp and assigned out to the FMF, it'll get better. You will have bad days and be thinking, "What the heck did I join for?," and you'll have good days. I found that all the good days amounted to more than the bad days that I had. My advice for bootcamp for you is to: (1) Keep your mouth shut, (2) Do as you're told and (3) Leave any attitude problems at home. Do those and you'll be okay! As Rattler had suggested earlier, you probably should have started running a few months earlier. Start doing it now...don't procrastinate on it. I used to run one day rest the next while I was in the Corps and it seemed to work for me. But then again, we had PT 3 times a week too! I totally agree, Gallion. Old Slick Willy is certainly the most screwed up CINC the United States military has ever had. The guy gets impeached over the Monica incident and still slides out of it. If that'd be some Colonel or General, they'd be out of a job! But, on the other hand, he is still the President and we unfortunately have to respect that...at least for a few more months! As far as the attack on the USS Cole, that is very unfortunate and I feel for the families of the deceased crewmembers. I know that whole Middle East thing has been going on for ages, but it'd be nice if those people could reconcile their differences....especially in our lifetimes. Here we are in the 21st century and the world still can't get along.
