Well, my best friend who works at the Union Square Hotel saw both impacts (he said the first plane came in low and level) and he said they were really not very loud and that there were several car bomb explosions in the area (one in front of his favorite theater!)........according to him they hit the trade centers as everybody was on their way to work so if they had waited an extra hour it would have been far worse. My friend says right now there is a lot of racial tension. He was almost attacked by a couple of gloating arabians and such. Also, in further news...the aircraft circling West Virginia has been escorted away by 4 f-16s...I could be wrong about this...that part was some hotshot newscaster [ 09-11-2001: Message edited by: Korono Lakeela ]

Rather just said there were about 50,000 people in those buildings...he didn't say if that was the death count though.....god...and those poor terrified passengers(hostages) in those 4 planes....god dammit. BCFreak, Berman and crew have the money to be a "little" more creative than the Akiraprise. This new show should be a forum for ideas and interest. I mean come on, it is not THAT hard to develop an acceptable old style ship. Sleek or not, that doesn't matter, but COME on...is it really that important to save the money on development time by just copying an existing design. I mean, I know the Enterprise D had the same concepts as the Old constition, saucer, struts, nachelles, but it was very much different. Well, compared the stories to some of the other big sci-fi over the last couple of years, this one is pretty good. ~~semi spoilers~~ The comic relief got what it deserved before it got annoying....the love aspect got curbed where it should have. Independance Day...a lameass hero commerical, Armeggedon didn't do this, it kept BOTH the comedy and love aspects to an all time annoying high.....Pitch Black, while good, was more a blatent Aliens rip off than this will ever be. At least they put an interesting backround to the creatures in this flick. And for god's sake, at least the "villian" had convictions and was not some mindless sadist. I mean, Lucas should take a look at this. This story had a lot more substance than say...uh..Phantom Menace (which I really felt was Lucas just showing what he can do with his money). While the story was not perfect in this movie, it had some glimmers of creativity I have not seen in a while. Of course, this is just my opinion, I could be wrong. Simply phenominal, if, graphics aside, for the fact that they put a GOOD story along with all the pizzazz!

I mean, this design does put emphasis on the "saucer" section concept that trek humans seem to put in as a design staple, but there are a dozen other ways to it than ripping off an exsiting design. How can they go to this sleek ship to something you would find in the Franz Joesph Tech Book?, I mean, if they were to rip off any design, I could understand using the Saladin Destroyer from that book. I have found that a decent trackball is pretty nice. I haven't used a mouse in years.

Looks good Tac. I have a question though, I know that a good number of the fleet go'ers are pretty hip on the Rping aspect, I think it might be kinda neat for fleet members who command cap ships to put together maybe a one page site on some crap server that gives a little insight into their vessel, like class and quotes, kinda like the US navy has a webpage for each of it's vessels. Thought it might be an interesting idea. I am already taking a few screen shots out of the Demo to consider making up a site with. Just a lameass idea.

Too bad their aren't any caves on the planets, I could take a marine character and go up into the mountains of some far off planet, keeping an eye on the city below...and see if anybody comes along and causes trouble.....kinda like..the mountain hermit class. lol.....there are legends of the marine that comes down from the mountain in times of trouble.

Well, look at it this way, the universe is there to make anything you want of it.....the barebones documentation will promote imagination. You know the Gams have green skin and they are "evil" ...thats all you need...make them what you want...and from the rp threads....they are already becoming something.
