Ok, here we go again, there is a new Activision Trek Title sitting on the shelves, and it looks really cool....Activision does have 1 flop to their name "Armada" and one jewel "Elite Force". I found this link while I was floating over at the mess that is the Star Fleet Command II forums. Its a totally legal operation. Basically, if it is a cool and relatively forgotten, or old PC title, you can get it there. I just downloaded every title in the Elite series and am now working on some old Buck Rogers goldbox RPGs....man, they have a load there. Well, have been playing the demo and needless to say, I am waiting for my copy to arrive. This is my first venture into the SE universe. But with the exception of BC3K, and any X-Wing/Tie-Fighter title, Space Empires builder's are my first love. MOO was by far the best and probably will always be and the sequel wasn't bad. Imperium Galactica II was worth the buy, though those damn Kraken really do through a monkey wrench into the whole "winning" the game concept! But back to SE4. Being able to customize EVERY aspect of your empire and race is just...well, awesome. For once you can actually build various fleets..(carrier groups, destroyer flotillas...etc) and use them effectively rather than just piling everything you have in ONE big fleet and rampaging through the universe. I think this one is a winner. This is just posted in concern of a trend I am seeing in multiplayer games, this may not be all that uncommon for some of you, but heck, I can't afford to keep up on buying games, anyway. I noticed that BCM requires a 56K modem for multiplayer, now, will this allow for direct modem to modem computer connections, or merely for the internet connection? The reason I ask this is because titles such as Klingon Academy and Imperium Galactica 2 ask for such, but when I get to multiplayer, bam! No modem connection, I guess this is kinda of a pain for me since there are two PCs in this house, and since I don't have the resources to go buy another network card I tend to use the 2 phone lines to my advantage, but with the recent games I have purchased, I can't even do that! So, in conclusion , will BCM have direct modem connections available? rp/ ~An annoyed fist comes down on the personal log recorder as the door to his personal quarters closes~ Galcom must not have been totally satisfied with my taking of Pixan, it is not my fault that recent budget cuts have taken a semister out of the basic training of our bridge engineers. Cutting the reactors by accident during a critical pass on a heavily armed space station is a most excellent way to get half of your marines blow out into space. But the station was still taken and a vital beachead to Sygan was established....but that wasn't enough, Sygan was about to fall as well to the power of the King Crimson, until 2 hothead cadet MK 1 BC's had to jump in and finish off the station before my marines could round up all the insurgents for prison mining detail in the deepest caverns of Luna. I guess Galcom decided that I could not be trusted to handle a station alone. Hay all, been lurking for about a year and a half, but just figured anything constructive I would have to say would have been said better by someone else! I just popped up to ask what some of you plan on doing with your brand new Battlecruiser the day you step on the bridge? First I have to go sink big bucks into getting a 128 ram chip into the machine so the blasted thing can handle it! I figured that 160ram was a needed total anyway. Well, the first thing I plan on doing, well, is kinda sappy, but I can't wait, I plan on landing the BC on the deserts of Earth, jumping on out into FP, lite up a cigar and just admire it from the ground, and then...well..hop into my APC and go RAISE SOME HELL!
