  1. Ok, so I am floating around Pixan and have been defending it until it is worth leaving. It was a lot of work to capture it and I am not letting some Insurgent punk ruin my day. Anyway, things are quiet when suddenly an Insurgent freighter pops in and loads me up with intruders. These guys are GOOD, they manage to pop off 3 of my marines and a medic and raise holy hell on the subdecks of my shiny BC MkII. I eventually give up on my own marines compentency. But I will give them some credit, most of them have been going strong for about 13 hours and needed a break. I docked at Pixan and let the station security round them up. When I launch I have 3 of those dastardly evil people in my detention hold...3 seconds later, one escapes. Now this ticks me off, and being a bit of a distance from HQ I load up the other two prisoners, 3 marine guards, and myself into the transpoter and beam down to a sunny spot of Lennon. Needless to say, justice was swift and left nothing more than a smoking barrel and two dead prisoners to be pecked apart by whatever lives on Lennon. I didn't think to take screenshots, and if I did, I don't really have a way of getting them here, but let me tell you....that was cool. You can do damn near anything with this game. I hope that escaped prisoner doesn't break into my quarters to avenge his example-made buddies. [ 12-20-2001: Message edited by: Korono Lakeela ]
  2. Well, I have heard that the DVD release will have a load of deleted scenes, about an hour or two worth. Oh, BTW....I agree with the SC, the best movie I have ever seen.
  3. DEAR GOD, ITS ALMOST TOMMORROW!, I haven't read the book in so many years (about 13) that I decided to touch up on my facts. And I have been slacking, have 98 pages to go by 4pm tommorrow.....that doesn't seem like a lot, but Tolkien, as I forgot, has as way of dragging in a few places! Now don't take that personally, he is the KING of all the is cool in the fantasy world...but sometimes his classical writing style and attention to EVERY DETAIL known to man is a little rough. But that aside, this movie is going to rock..I have not heard one bad review about it, heck, their putting it up there as one of the best movies in the last 50 years.
  4. Hey man, I ain't exactly loaded either, especially after moving out to the most damned expensive city ever, especially as a professional musician. But as a HONEST music collector, and hardcore computer geek...it just is so much cooler to have the game, the album, or whatever payed for and right next to you. And if you can't afford it, that is your drive to improve your situation and yourself so that one day you CAN afford it. It just feels that much better to earn anything. But enough pseudo-preaching. Welcome Back! [ 12-18-2001: Message edited by: Korono Lakeela ]
  5. Wow, our own little cuban missle crisis scenerio! Man, anything is possible here! Derek, you rock man, and hell, if your vacation takes you up here in the New York City area, stop by and we will give you the baked goods hookup for your journey. Now, go be human for awhile
  6. Well, all I have to say is, Thank you to Malfador Machinations for Space Empires. Imperial Starfire was a game I always burned to play back in the heyday when time was something that was no consideration. And a word about obscure RPGS....all Hail "Expendables"......and a word of advice...just crawl into a box and hide if you are in a "Rifts" campaign and you have no gun. BTW, I am a gamer and I shower twice a day....
  7. got mine
  8. quote: Same problem? What same problem? Could you be more specific? Sorry, the same problem in that the patch remained expired, thus keeping me from the game. I will send the information, thanks for the reply
  9. Ok, I am having the same problem in a sense, but I have noticed something. Last night I was playing the campaign when the game crashed. (Ter/Mil, launched from Galcom) The "dbhelp" caused an illegal operation around Xylan and everything went boom. Anyway I didn't play again until today and when I loaded up and the patch screen came up it said that the patch had expired and the game would not load. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the game and it would run fine, but when I reinstalled the patch, the same thing happened. I then downloaded the patch again and reinstalled everything, and bam, same problem. I have a legit copy and I have Direct X 8.1 installed. Happy Turkey Day! 10. Got mine, I have to say Derek, it all paid off, everything looks very sleek and just plain awesome, especially the keyboard sheet, the color map takes the cake! (and the bonus map is hella cool too) The waiting was worth it, thanks for bringing the gamers a great game. Got a little bit of time to actually play...damn, all I can say is...I'm home!
  11. quote: No problem. uhm, can you post this in the impressions thread I just created please? Sorry chief, was losing my marbles at the time...tis moved!

  15. Hmm, they must have gotten zealous over at EB, they seemed to have reactivated an old order of BCM that I had to cancel in July. Well, as much as I would like two copies....I can't afford it!
  16. Man, the airlines just can't seem to win these days. Gonna have to bring back the days of the rail.
  17. Heh, yeah, I'm just some dude Well, thanks for the luck, I am going to need it with the rate airplanes keep falling out of the sky in that area!
  18. Ok wraith bretheren. This week I begin my exidous to Brooklyn, New York. Hopefully I will be up and running fairly soon....hell, with as much as I post, you probably won't even notice!!
  19. Well, he came forward with it, not to gloat, but to notify and he (I hope) is doing his best to rectify things. Unless he posts something like..."Muhahahah, my copy of BCM has arrived, next Decepticons, the World". Then I would freak out. And the SC has every right to be explosive on this matter...BCM has been, well...his LIFE...and his livelihood! One is lucky not to have his head exploded for even joking about this matter. Now if you will excuse me, I am going to flee this powderkeg thread...hope things turn out to be a false alarm. [ 11-12-2001: Message edited by: Korono Lakeela ]
  20. Damn, oh well, can't wait until next friday, if all goes as dated.
  21. Yeah, got it yesterday. And all I can say is, YES! The Marine at midnight with headphones in the dark, not for the feint of heart. And that damn shoulder lamp, don't know if I like it or hate it!
  22. Bah, give me 3 shreks hiding in a city anyday...or just 3 shreks in general. Something about a 4 story TARGET looming over the battlefield doesn't do it for me [ 11-07-2001: Message edited by: Korono Lakeela ]
  23. Silent anticipation......burning, festering, overwelming, silent anticipation....
  24. Wow, another decent episode, could it be that quality is actually creeping it's way into Star Trek again? [ 11-07-2001: Message edited by: Korono Lakeela ]
