  1. That WAS pesky! he wasted 2 minutes of my life! I want em back!
  2. I liked both games alright, SS1 had a great story, SS2 had great graphics. Using ShockEd(SS editor), maybe someone could completely remake SS1 using the SS2 engine. Or, better yet, someone could create a SS1 script for BCM At least, once that internal level enhancement is released.
  3. My results... Paranoid: Moderate Schizoid: Moderate Schizotypal: High Antisocial: Low Borderline: Moderate Histrionic: Moderate Narcissistic: High Avoidant: Very High Dependent: High Obsessive-Compulsive: High Guess I really am crazy
  4. I've been there before, PowerCow's is a GREAT website for starting out, or discovering new secrets to BC3K. It helped me discover that the Galaxians even existed!
  5. IMO, he SHOULD have been saying ,"Marine is ready", not "Marines ready", since he says it when ONE marine is ready at the time. Does...er, DID he do a bad job commanding troops? Or is it better to just command them yourself?
  6. quote:Originally posted by DeSylva: Multi-Platform Integrated Simulator (MIPS) -GD Ah, but that implies that it's for multiple systems, like Win, Mac, PS2, XBox, etc.
  7. Wasn't he the guy that was always saying that the marines are ready?
  8. I just want to hear what SC says about all this My ideas: Sci-Fi action sim It's Sci-fi, it's action based(duh),and it's a giant sim. Multi-gameplay Sci-Fi sim Multi-gameplay, because it offers tactical aspects of a RTS, action of both FPS and space combat, AND the quality and length of a good RPG. Multi-genre? Last but not least: OmniGame It has everything, so why not
  9. Even worse is the guy that keeps saying "Aye" every 5 seconds. The bridge comms chatter always sounded to ME like this: "More power! More power, duh-duh-blue, blue-thingy-blue, blue, MORE POWER, MORE POWER! duh-duh-blue, blue-blue-blue..."
  10. LOL! At the meeting for "Battlecruiser Anon"... Hi, my name's Ian, and I'm a BC3K addict. HI IAN!! Hi, my name's Jake and I'm a BC3K addict. HI JAKE!! Hi, my name's Zach, but I'm not an addict! Seriously, even though I play it when I should be working, and I play it 25 hours a day, I'm not a BC addict! BOOO!!
  11. quote:Originally posted by Sidargo: FASA is planning on a BT movie ... for years. Doubt they will EVER finish it Hmm, sounds like somebody else I know...(hehe, jk ) quote:Originally posted by Emmett.hendrick: I've seen Tomb Raider and I thought it was a let down. Movie tie ins of Games DO NOT work. Period. My point exactly. The grim future I see for games is this: Movies will be made FOR games, and games will be made FOR movies, thus we get MORE bad movies, and worse, MORE bad games.
  12. Great! I thought it was that simple, but I wasn't sure
  13. I noticed something about the BCM Ep. 2 demo. After I installed the little upgrade which contained the bonus mission, BCM had a different font. It had letters that were a larger size, and thinner. Later, since I was bored, I re-installed Demo Ep. 1. Then when I went to go play Demo ep 2 again, it was replaced by the regular BCM font. Can anyone explain this? Not a huge prob, but I'd like that font back
  14. I have it(and the expansion pack,Defiance). It's alright, but I like BC3K(and BCM) better for one important reason. While BC is open ended and free form, I-War uses a similar engine, with advanced controls of your ship, but is mission-to-mission(ala freespace) based. A lack of in-game music just makes it worse. This game looks like one that was released a little too soon. I-War 2, however, looks like an awesome game, more Privateer like
  15. Heh, it does feel like ST:V, since some exploration of flux fields left me stranded in Gammulan space
  16. Well, I noticed in the XC scenario, attackers will not follow you if you go planetside. Not like I mind
  17. I was having an odd conversation with my father the other day, and I mentioned how the older games, like the older Commodore 64 D&D games, and the ELITE series(and of course BCM ) just kept going and going, like big open ended epics. NOW, however, games have gotten shorter and shorter. Take Max Payne for example, a game with excellent graphics, but paynefully short. Why? My dad gave his explanation," Your going to think this is ridiculous, but consider it for a minute. What if hollywood sees the gaming industry, and collaborates with game makers to make more money. How would they do that? By making games have more definet, movie-like endings, so that there can be movies based on them. And vice-versa, having games based on movies. That way, in the future, every movie will have a game, and every game will have a movie." I think that would be horrible, if that was actualy true. What do YOU think?
  18. Actualy, when I first figured this trick out, I was new to the game(I had just seen BC3K in the bargin bin of a computer store, and I remembered an article in CGW in 1994 about an awesome new game...)so I didn't know that the ship's reactor used a fuel source at all. I was hyperspacing all over the place at my every whim, only at one point I didn't have enough radine crystals. After some experiments with interceptors and the VTOL system, I found that trick out. SLOWING DOWN, on the other hand, is a big problem. You can do the trick backwards, which barely works, you can turn the ship around a lot to lose momentum, or you can just wait until you are within range of a space station, and hit ALT-D to dock. Give REAL physics, going from 50,000 to 0 in 3 seconds would be like that one scene in "SpaceBalls" . But I see it as the station's tractor beams pulling you in(or something).
  19. It's not a secret , but either A) Pick up and sell cargo boxes with a shuttle, then sell the contents, Trade items based on the standard trading rule: Buy low, sell high. You can also mine minerals off planets using a drone(am I correct on this one?), and if you tractor-tow an enemy ship, you can deliver it to a starstation(by docking with it) for some money as well. But the easy way is to let the game sit for one day, as you get paid 75000 GalCreds per standard Earth day.
  20. Elite 3: First Encounters was an awesome game, although it had a few(?) bugs. Having a more realistic ground-space transition would be nice, but it would be hard to change the game THAT drasticly at this point. For one, the model for the ground is flat, where a real, spherical planet model would be needed. That in itself would take a lot of resources, and might cause the game to lag. I kind of like it as it is though, it's easier to escape any attackers
  21. OH OK...I just noticed what you are talking about in the screenshots. I think you need to run the BC3K 3DFX shortcut, as for your voodoo card, I'm not sure. I think the 3DFX will work even you don't have a voodoo card, but you should go read the FAQ.
  22. Um, do you mean the BCM screenshots or the BC3K 2.0X screenshots? In BCM there is a blue nebula background for the earth zone, but not in BC3K as far as I know.
  23. "Attack of the Clones" LA couldn't have picked a worse title IMO. Granted "Clone Wars" is redundant, but still. Did anyone see a bizarre movie from the 1970s titled,"Parts, the Clonus horror"? As far as I can tell, it was a movie about a science lab where they make clones designed as spare parts for rich guys. And it had that guy from "Biography". "Star Wars: The Clonus Horror", heh
  24. Cmdr. Wilco of the GCJV Eureka, reporting for duty
  25. And BTW, in BC3K 2.0x, the cap ships are as manueverably as fighters, but I think in BCM fighters will be a bit more important.
