  1. Ok, well, sorry I asked a redundant and unclear question SC. I included that quote because Ep. 5 said that BCM will use the same system BC3K did, which that quote proves it does not. If I'm wrong, well...
  2. Ok, once again I've proven to be an idiot Sorry
  3. http://www.3000ad.com/cgibin/ultimatebb.cg...ic&f=2&t=000761 Here's what SC posted: quote:In BCM the planets do orbit the Sun (now a 3D spatial object). They also rotate (which is what gives the day/night cycles) in an orbital plane. If you look in the VCF, you will a description of how to check this using debug mode. You're just not going to see this orbital plane or rotation, by sitting there staring at it . So, I'll ask again. Given the way he described it, will jumpgates still have a purpose in BCM? -EDIT Ok, I've speculated on the idea of having "orbiting zones", if that's how it works. 4. I have a question. SC said that instead of the "zones" model for space(earth zone, moon zone, mars zone etc), there will be a dynamicly moving space region thingy, which will have all the planets in a given solar system(and moons) orbiting around a star(which you can't fly to). What I'm curious of is, will jumpgates still be used? Or will ships just use the hyperdrive, like when flying to a relatively close-range object? Or will jumpgates have a different purpose?
  5. Admins would delete the SC's posts?? ROFL
  6. I know very little about XP itself, but I am worried about M$'s new business model, of leasing OSs. Next, they'll be leasing you your own data!
  7. I recommend any video card, as long as it's integrated into the motherboard (J/K!!)
  8. My favorite ships come in order of what class: OC: Humvee! I always wanted one in real life FC: The P-21 Vandal was my favorite fighter, even from BC3K CC: I like the Questar for it's look, the Warmonger for it's power(despite that it looks like a duck's beak), the BC Mk3, and the Firestorm carrier. My favorite races are Terran, Vesperon, Droidion(and Syrion), and Gammulan. Terran for obvious reasons, Vesperon becuase they remind me of the Klingons, Droidion and Syrion because they(vaguely) remind me of the borg, and Gammulan becuase the represent the official "enemy" of the BC series. 9. There are a few keys to any successful info-mercial, for example... #1 Cameos! Have some celebrities, like the SC, make a guest appearance and try out your product!(and swear that you've never met them, never seen them before, and/or not related to them) #2 Have people that have tried out the product appear! Same rule as above, you do NOT know *cough, cough*, the person saying,"Yes,BCM changed my life! Thank you SC!" #3 If you can take the tape of the infomercial, chop it up, rearange in a random order, and it's STILL the same infomercial, it works!
  10. quote:Originally posted by Soback: Did people from the EB actually called you guys? If so then I am getting worried as nobody called me yet. Well, one person said that they "let him know", maybe he went down there and asked? I asked them too, they said the 15th. And the person just before said BMT Micro emailed them. BMT Micro and EB Games are unrelated, right?
  11. quote:Its READY when its ready. Right now, its READY!! ...but those bastards have started yet another countdown!! LOL!! [ 10-02-2001: Message edited by: R_wilco ]
  12. FTP= File Transfer Protocol, a way of transfering files(duh) invented in the days of Unix. Btw, you mentioned a CGW article...well, I have a collectors item. It's an April 1994 issue of CGW, and on the cover, in big bold letters, it says code: In this issue: Set a course for Battlecruiser: 3000ad! Also reviewed: Frontier: Elite 2 Nomad Arctic Baron... In the actual article, it talks a little about the game, and various things in it. The reviewer made a mistake, confusing flux fields with wormholes. It also shows some screenshots, which depict BC3K, made for a 486/DX. I was 9 years old, but when I saw those screenies, and read what the game was like(despite many references to "StarFlight"), I thought,"OMG!! I have to own this game! It's awesome!!" I REALLY want that proof-of-product demo, but as SC's already told me... quote:It's in my personal collection and not for download. You can get version 1.07 at www.theunderdogs.org Oh well, doesn't matter to me much since I'll get BCM in the mail in a few weeks [ 10-01-2001: Message edited by: R_wilco ] [ 10-01-2001: Message edited by: R_wilco ]
  13. Hey Jaguar, I'm in Vancouver WA, that's just a little north of Oregon
  14. quote: Defending your honor! Well someone's gotta! I'm there too, what is the deal with that Shirley guy anyway?
  15. That doesn't mean we can't critique it
  16. Now for my say... (I really hope I don't come off as a trekkie for saying this...) Anyone remember an episode of DS9 where they accidentaly go back in time to the classic star trek episode,"The Troubles with Tribbles"? They look at the klingons with very, very small head-ridges, someone says something like,"THAT'S a KLINGON?? but...but..his head!!" Worf says," It is a long story, we prefer not to speak of it...." My point: AHA! THEY SCREWED UP!! That implies that BEFORE A CERTAIN POINT Klingons did NOT have head ridges. And what am I seeing on this klingon they picked up from Earth?? Gee.... Otherwise, I thought the show was overall good, as pilots go, liked the vulcan chick, despite the fact that it's too cliche, and I thought some of the technology looked too advanced. The transporter, for example. Looked nothing like the transporters in the classic series, or even the movies for that matter. One last thing. REAL trekkies will recognize a ship called the "Akira" class, an awesome warship comparable to our Battlecruiser Mk. 3. But, the "enterprise" looks almost exactly like it, except that the nacelles are up instead of down. -EDIT Like my sig. says,"D'oh!!" I really ought to notice how many pages there are in a thread FIRST [ 09-29-2001: Message edited by: R_wilco ]
  17. Good idea Shadow, let's go steal a gold edition disc! It'll be just like that movie,"Road Trip"!! Only with less sex, and probably no car explosion....but yeah!! But perhaps I've said too much....
  18. Yay! It's finaly gold! code: ##### ##### # # # # # # # ## ##### # # # # # # # # # # # # ##### ###### # # # is ###### ###### # ##### # # # # # # # # # ### # # # # # # # # # # # # # ###### ###### ####### ###### # Too bad I won't see it for another 2 weeks... 19. I read in an earlier thread that, given the way BCM works, anyone familiar and learned in using GBSII should have a relatively easy time creating modifications and total conversions(mods and TCs) for BCM, since GBSII provides all the tools you need. Here are some mods I can see, if anyone takes the time to create them: Star Wars TC: It was inevitable . Assuming that the art and graphics(which you could extract from X-Wing Alliance or XvT) were good, this would make a great TC, a cross between XWA, Force Commander, and Jedi Knight. Star Trek TC: Another inevitable mod. This would be a cross between that ST strategy game whose name escapes my mind, and Voyager: Elite force. BCM seems almost perfect for it, given the sheer scale . Wing Commander TC: Origin has given up on the Wing Commander concept, and so has it's creator, so I can see a great WC mod for BCM. Not JUST piloting fighters, but also capital ship combat AND ground combat. But, you already knew that . Battletech/MechWarrior TC: Since Battletech is a whole UNIVERSE, it seems likely that a BattleTech mod would be great for BCM, assuming you could get the movement animations for the 'mechs right. RoboTech/Macross TC: RoboTech is an anime series which involves space combat, with ships that transform into 'mechs(I'm using the term loosely, I know there's an official term). I would imagine it being VERY cool, only slightly harder than the MechWarrior TC, since in RoboTech, the star fighters transform into 'mechs, and the handling for aircraft/ground based craft might not even be possible with BCM's engine. Still, I'd love to fly a VF-1 Super Valkyrie against a Gammulan base . Well, that's all I can think of for now, but if you have any ideas post them here
  20. Since the VCF is empty, does that mean that game has gone gold??? Or is Derek merely updating it? And by the way, where are those screenshots? They aren't on the main screenshot page. [ 09-20-2001: Message edited by: R_wilco ]
  21. -Ter/Mil Questar(the minute I saw that ship, I HAD to have it ) -Ter/Mil ACM scenario, I'll go with the "recommended" config for this one -Ter/Mil Pilot, P-21 Vandal, the minute I saw that fighter, I had to have it -Ter/Explorer, or Ter/Hacker, either Jenstar or Generis armed transport, I like 'em both. -Gam/Mil, Stormcarrier, just to try out some Gammulan equipment. -Ter/Mil Marine, because I want to see how well the FPS aspect works, even though I'm really better as a pilot. To quote something I read, in a BCM document: quote: The vehicles in StarSiege: Tribes were little more than flying tin-cans at best I played Tribes for a long time, and while I liked the vehicles OK, it would be great in a multiplayer battle to hop into a heavy gunship and start blasting away, then land behind the enemy base and sneak up on 'em. Assuming marines can pilot that kind of asset. -Ter/Janitorial, to RP as my second favorite hero! To boldy mop where none have mopped before...oh wait...the janitorial fleet doesn't exist... (j/k on that last bit ) [ 09-18-2001: Message edited by: R_wilco ]
  22. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: Oh, thats just great. Join a fleet because they have a cool website. I hope Tac is handing out Kick Me! tatoos to his troops. I dread to think of the day the mp Beta servers go online. [ 09-16-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ] Hey, I did not say THAT. I said that Wraith has an awesome web site. I think Wraith and Orion are BOTH great fleets, I just can't make up my mind yet. Either way, I'm taking several things into account, not JUST the webites of both, which BOTH happen to be great.
  23. Well, while I'm seriously considering both Orion and Wraith, I have say, I was VERY impressed by the web page work for wraiths web site. That was some creative work with audio clips and sprites And the navigation interface for the rest of the web page was superb. Kudos to whoever designed the Wraith homepage
  24. Wow guys, thanks for the information I'll probably make a decision in the next few days
  25. LOL Well, while I'm not completely sure of the history, if I'm not mistaken Take 2 were the ones who released BC3K 1.0 WITHOUT SC's permission, right? Those jerks!
