Ok, this is great. As soon as socialist rebelion sweeps through the world I am going to need the following items. I WANT them delivered to me and I promise to put in my 8 hours work every day, minus weekends and vacations (I do not guarantee the quality of my work). 1. A personal jet. 2. An 11 bedroom 3 story house on a hill (with a pool of cours). 3. A limo. 4. A porche. 5. A Harley Davidson. 6. Anything else I might want later on. PS Please, don't forget to destribute this wealth to anyone else who might want some too, but remember I AM FIRST IN LINE.

Looks like someone had to dispose of the mistress so that the wife wouldn't find out.
-
That is bizare. I looked it at for 2 minutes and just can't seem to stop.
-
That's cool. So does it tie into your PC clock or something>? Cause it's exactly with synch down to the second with my PC clock, and if so is there a way to download that and run it in a browser when I am not connected to the internet.

Yeah, I didn't even get what the trailler was about.

quote:Originally posted by goaliejerry: And also, this is not directed to you Jaguar, a civilizations worth is not judged by their current value rather their contribution to the development of world cultures. Would you say that Roman Culture of old was not great, because according to your logic, since the collapse of the Empire their stature has declined. And yes Russia is defunct now, however that diminishes nothing from their cultural value. So yes, your right, current Arab culture seems to be anti-progressive, but it takes NOTHING away from their value as a culture. And you say they have nothing to offer in terms of art and such. THEY WOULD SAY THE SAME ABOUT US. THIS IS ALL REALITIVE. We don't see thier art because our cultures clash. You wouldn't have any interest in Arabic art, how self centered of you to think that because it doesn't appeal to you that it has no value. Typical American Cockyness, thinking we rule the world. How much did you actually study art before coming to the conclusion that Arabic art is worthless? I'm curious about that. I am sure their are many Arabs who completely enjoy thier art, and see no value in ours. It's all realitive. And also, Arab poverty, whose fault is it? Which powers came and took the oil and took the wealth back home from these regions, leaving them bare? Oh thats right, EUROPEANS. WE RAPED THEIR LAND AND STOLE THEIR WEALTH. IT IS NOT THIER FAULT THEY ARE DIRT POOR. European culture came in and dominated the weak and left them with nothing. First of all. Read my post again. Like I said before. I am not arguing that the arab countries were deemed strong culturally and in other ways BACK in the middle ages. THEY AREN'T NOW. Roman Empire was great, but it withered and died. arab countries are withering and dying but they seem determent on taking every progressive culture and country with them by establishing terrorist cells all over the world, and KILLING people into submission. Modern countries are trying to solve the problems they have with the middle east diplomatically but that doesn't seem to work (it hasn't worked for decades) so when diplomacy fails then force is the next step. As for arab poverty. Wake up. Who controls the oil? Who can influence gasoline prices and all the trade in the world (what you think those ships and planes that go from continent to continent are run on sunlight). If you think that anyone else controls that oil you are WAY out of the loop. Again, like I said before. Modern man came to middle east, discovered oil, developed it, and taught the arabs on how to extract and use it. THEY CONTROL IT NOW. So, the next question is where do the money from the oil go? Where do the money (BILLIONS) that US has given in aid to the arab countries went? Do we see any improvement in their standard of living? No, what we see is their sultans building villas near oceans and palaces. So arab countries are poor because of the way their government is set up and nobody else but themselves are at fault for that. So read my post again that said when the local arab population started asking why the Israel has such a high standard of living and they don't, what was answered to them. Sultans are not going to point a finger at themselves and say WE took all your money, they are going to point at Israel and say THEY took all your money, so let's take it back. And last. You are good. Really good. You and menchise obviously read my posts. You reply to them, but instead of reading a paragraph, taking the point I was making in that paragraph and countering it, you take a sentence out of that paragraph, and desolve/degenerate the whole debate to that one sentence only. So since you can't lead a debate the intelligent way I see no point in debating with you 2 at all. This is my last post on this issue. I already made my points, now the only thing that is left to do is go watch the news reports where 90% of them tell you how many arabs have been killed but don't tell you how for 5 weeks now, EVERY single day a bomb has exploded in Israel (one of the reasons why Israel started this campaign), how synagogues are burning in France, and how many more children are without moms (since those terrorist SPECIFICALLY target children and civilians) and how red cross is sneaking terrorists and explosives in their ambulances. All you are going to hear instead is how the Taliban have their food unproperly prepared while being illegally detained, how their turbans aren't being ironed, how palestinians are suffering due to Israeli "occupation". quote:Originally posted by goaliejerry: quote: Just so all of you know, arab/Islamic culture in the middle ages was highly advanced, thier knowledge of astronomy and mathmatics surpassed that of europeans. Their reach extended to practically every corner of civilization, and they traded with vast numbers of people. Let me post a piece from my other post that will clear this up. "I will agree that they were quite good in the middle ages, but that was a long time ago and you can't ride that forever. So, Russia was the most powerfull country in the WORLD in 1759. It had beautiful culture, religion, science. Look at it now. Are you going to argue me that it's not a decrepid poor country that is trying (finally) to change itself for the better? Well same thing with arab countries. They are still stuck in the middle ages and today they are VERY decrepid. " And clear up some more. What they were very well suited those times. What they are is a whole different story, but that's what matters the most. NOW in this day and age arab people have nothing. Let me repeat this , NOTHING. Not only do they have nothing to offer no arts, no technology, but they want to get it for free (destroying Israel and taking over) like it belongs to them. I don't blame the regular population. Those poor uneducated farmers and workers that know nothing better than to listen to their rich higher class and do exactly as they are told. So compare Israel to any arab country today, and tell me which country would you rather go to on a trip? Would you go and wonder through dusty streets, look at people who are broke poor, "oh wait there's a palace, maybe I will go visit and take some pictures. Hold on a minute, what are those armed guards doing by the dooor? I guess I am not gettin in after all". Or would you rather go and see a city with aqueducts running all through it, plants growing in the desert, beautiful architechture, and a FRIENDLY society. quote: So arabic oil is worth nothing to the world? Come on, think before you write.Like I said. Don't twist my words. Arabic oil is not their achievement. They didn't and wouldn't even know what oil is if not for the modern man coming in that country and discovering their oil deposits and then developing them, and in the end TEACHING them on how to use and extract that precious resource.

quote:Originally posted by Menchise: quote:The young would disagree if they followed your logic.Anyone can disagree with that. But it still stands true. Just because people are old, doesn't mean they are weak. Let me explain so that you don't degenerate my point into a young (strong) vs old (weak) argument. Young, old, middle aged can all be weak and a drain to the country if they do nothing to contribute to it. It's understandable if the person or a society helps it's weak elements to BECOME stronger so that they will start contributing something. It's STUPID of a society to help it's weak elements by continuously supporting them. (ex. wellfare in the US that people abuse by receiving it years and years, or when someone receives disability but is able to go out in his back yeard and jump on a trampoline. quote: I guess the sultans didn't bother with helping the 'weak'. Yeah, that's exactly what I meant by people twisting my words for their own argument. Let me explain it clearer. Sultans drained the economy of the arabic countries. Their government system is a heirarchy. So people were very poor but had nothing to compare themselfes to (in the middle east area). Now that Israel is there and their average citizens are 10 times as rich as an average citizen in an arab country the arab population started asking some questions. What do you think their sultans and leaders are going to tell them? That they robbed them blind all this years? No, of course not. They told them that the reason they are poor is BECAUSE of ISRAEL, because Jewish people took their best land, their money and that's why they are suffering. While Israel was GIVEN a piece of desert and transformed it into a beautiful country, and now every arab wants a piece of it for pillage. quote: Strength does not equal worthiness, and Israel had a lot of help in the process. Yes, Israel did have a lot of help in the process. Most of that help came from other Jewish people from other countries. Arabs have BILLIONS of dollars coming into their countries from selling oil. Where do those Billions go? Into their economy, infrastructure, social services (that right there just made me laugh). So Israel build and developed their country by good leadership and government, while arab countries stagnated to the point where in this MODERN age their citizens live in mud huts and the sultans ride around in benzes from one palace to another. I will agree that they were quite good in the middle ages, but that was a long time ago and you can't ride that forever. So, Russia was the most powerfull country in the WORLD in 1759. It had beautiful culture, religion, science. Look at it now. Are you going to argue me that it's not a decrepid poor country that is trying (finally) to change itself for the better? Well same thing with arab countries. They are still stuck in the middle ages and today they are VERY decrepid. quote: I said I don't think ANYONE should own land. That includes governments. Anyway, this is off-topic. If you want to debate this, start another thread (preferably in the BCC forum).I will leave this particular argument at that.

By the way Paddy Gregory, that's how the world evolves. Weaker die off, stronger survive. I don't understand these socialistic/liberatarian concepts where the strong have to cater to the weak, making themselves weaker in the process. Have you been to Israel? Have you seen what they have done with that land in 50 years they have lived there? It's an oasis in the desert. The arabs had that land for thousands of years and their countries are still a desert, but only because of the British you have derricks sticking out of that sand, (what you think they thought of how to pump oil all by themselves?) And just to explain to you my post above this one (some people need a little extra explaining so that they won't twist the words to suit their purpose) US populated the land that belonged to the Indians. It took it and transformed it into one of the best countries in the world. So, why don't we just pick ourselves up and give it back to the Indians now? Israel was given the land it has now. The arab countries invaded it in hopes of destroying them, but Israel fought back and pushed the arabs back farther and farther, and now everyone is saying that Israel should give the land back to the arabs? Yeah, right. And one more thing. I went to Golden Gate park in SF this weekend. On the way there palestines and other arabs were having a demonstration protesting Israeli "occupation". About 1,000 people piled up 2 blocks on both sides of the road and on the middle divider. You wouldn't believe they way they behaved. Running across the road all the time, whistling, making those stupid noises with their tangs, some of them got into their cars, were pulling up to the light and not letting anyone pass when the light turned green. Like savages. And I just got a flashback, they behaved exactly like that when the twin towers went down. So I put down my roof. Stuck up both my hands and extended the middle fingers. Thank GOD for free speech.

And for those that say that Israel should keep the West Bank because they won it in the war? Oh please! That is such a Medieval concept! This is not a competition, it is life and death. Let's put a scenario forward; you and your family have inhabited a region for 100s of years, then an international organisation allows another people to inhabit your land in their 1000s because they say they have a God-given right to do so. They come in and set up a Government and declare the land for themselves, to be governed by themselves. They take the most furtile areas and force you into ghettos. How the hell would YOU feel? I will never rocognise the State of Israel as it stands, it is a false democracy, run by European bigots So, then I take it you don't recognize US either? quote:Originally posted by Kush: The idea that it is immoral to intentionally kill civilians in a state of war is a pretty new concept. Most nations have done so at one point in time or another. (Canada has. So has America, Britain, France, Germany, Nigeria, China, the list goes on.) To say that the palestinians are somehow slightly more immoral than the Isreali military is an act of sophistry. At this point, morality is not important. Getting the two sides to a ceasefire is important. Resuming talks about Jerusalem is important. If you sympathize with Isreal, they will always have the moral high ground. If you sympathize with Palestinians, they will always have the moral high ground. If you care about a lasting peace in the region, then you have to put talk of morality aside and prepare to do the hard work of negotiating a lasting peace.Well, if there is a state of war, then I guess the "ocupied territories" are not ocupied anymore. Israel has got them through war, and thus that land belongs to Israel. What the hell is everyone screaming about then? Since it's Israels land then it can do pretty much whatever it wants there, from now on the terrorist sweeps and such are their internal affairs. Oh yea, I forgot. It's not fair to defend yourself, capture land, and then keep it.No, no no, when someone goes to war with you, and you kick them back a hunderdfold, take their land, then in the end the land should be given back and a declaration of "Lets start over" should be signed. (and for those who want Israel to give the land back and "start over", note that the last paragraph is HEAVY on sarcasm)

Imagine the paperwork you would have to do at your HQ, and their faces when you tell them that your CC has sunk. At least if you get blown to bits then all that paperwork and such is not your problem.

The Use of Force against Civilians in order to coerce or force a government to submit due to civilian casualties. That is terrorism, when you target civilians in order to intimidate.[QE] So you say that bombing civilian targets is terrorism? Who said that to the Allied Forces as they bombed German cities to ashes or the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were annihilated by the US with the Bomb?Shame on your. You should know your history. In the begining of the war allies didn't carpet bomb cities and any area that was close to civillians. After the Axis showed no restraint in their bombing runs (they did bomb cities), only then the Allies started bombing population centers. Lesson: maybe Israel should do the same, and since palestinians seem to specifically target civillians, then what I would LOVE to see is Israeli armed forces taking out hundreds and thousands of palestinians untill the palestinian population overthrows their government, agrees to peace and to the land that Israel is WILLING to give them so that they can form their own country. And if you think that it's very bloody and harsh, then go ahead, talk about your "peace" negotiations for the next 50 more years (it has already been nearly 50 years since Israel was formed) and see how much more life will be lost. At least if palestinins overthrow their defunct government and get rid of their extreemists (shut them up one way or another) then, and only then will you have something resembling peace in the middle east. Don't forget to set your clock one hour ahead. Well, what are you waiting for? Go do it right now.

For those of you who don't know. Israeli forces seized thousands of firearms (rifles, handguns), grenades and bombs in the last couple of days in their sweeps for terrorists. Does anyone think that those weapons, especially the grenades and the bombs were kept by palestinians for "self protections"?

Happy Birthday SC !!! I wonder how big this thread would get if everyone whos registered and comes here would post. *hint hint*

Jaguar hits it just right. (as always)

That reminds me. I got Operation Flashpoint this week. Got it for $30, came home installed. OMG, it's damn awesome. My only regret is I didn't get it last year for $50 or however much it cost back then, so that the developer would get more money and know that his game was well worth it. Now compare that to other games that stay on the shelfs for a looooong, loooong time and not drop a penny. Operation Flashpoint should have stayed up and not droped a penny, not Silent Hunter II or Microsofts Com. Fligth sim.
-
Well, $40, $60, or $98.95 a month for Everquest, I don't care. I just don't want SC to get any ideas (nor anyone else who sets the prices for MMOG) for that matter. I remember a time when new releases were $29.99 to $39.99 and then after Diablo 2 which was either $49.99 or $59.99 (can't remember) every damn new game that came out is at least $49.99. Now, since inflation is only about 3% a year, can someone explain to me why would games jump up by $20.00 all of a sudden? I will tell you why, because publishers (or whoever sets the prices) saw that people would pay that much if they hype the game up about 6 months to a year before release, then say nothing for about 2 months before release to let it all sink inn, and then right when it's about to come out they will advertise it like crazy, and then when it's out you are just thinking (I gotta get it no matter how much it costs) so people pay up $60 bucks and then after a week realize what piece of junk they got since they already beat the game *aghm* (max payne) *aghm*, and it's time for a trade in if not too late. So, what it comes down to is, games should be priced accordingly. Junky, buggy as hell, non tested, or just plain non replayable games *aghm* (silent hunter II, WWII online, stronghold.....) *aghm* should be around 20 to 30, then the midrange games that are fun but not quite there 30 to 40 and only games of the year, or games that you would keep coming back to time after time can charge 40 to 60. Otherwise if it's a new release I don't even need to ask the price, I already know it's 49.99 + tax, no matter if it's junk or not. P....es me off. PS, what's up with Microsofts Combat Flight Simulator 2? I went to EB this week and saw it for $49.99. I mean isn't it 2 years old now, isn't Combat Flight SIM 3 in the works and should be out this year? I mean, I have IL2 Sturmovik, and comparing that to Microsofts Combat Flight sim is like comparing gold and coper. I would still get just for fun, but NEVER would I get it for 50 bucks. Don't they want to make money>? I know nobody is buying it now, not for 50, not even for 40, but I am sure if they would drop it down to 20 some people would get it, I know I would. Who sets the prices? Bogles the mind.
-
Seriously though. Everquest is charging as high as 98.95 A MONTH for platinum "SERVICE" to play it's latest release. What BULL. Read all about it here
-
I liked their Combat Flight Simulator, but since IL-2 Sturmovik came along..... It's going to be VERY hard to top that one. IL2 is just awesome.
