How about before you even go into the control panel to delete it, you go into BCM folder first and back up the save file. Isn't that easier. Think about something you are about to do before you do it. Trust me, it will also pay off in your personal lifes, so start practicing.

Chiablo, tell us exactly what drivers version you have (we can't guess what the newest version means to you), but first, go download DX 8.1 and windows media player 7.1, install and try the game, then come back and post your driver version if you will still have the problem.

I had Diamond Viper II z200 which is also based on S3 chipset. Your problem is not only the momory, but the drivers. That's how the demos looked on my Diamond card, but a little bit better than you describe, the drivers didn't support DX 8.0 properly.

Urza, in my opinion you are missing the point. Profiling should be implemented and tailored to the area where it's implemented. It's a mistake to say that black people commit more crimes or that all hijakers will be Arabs. My view is, you have to custom fit racial profiling. Watch Arab people closer around airports in America in general because they are the ones who commit most of the hijackings in this country, some other country might have some other race commiting most of the hijackings, and black people might commit more crimes in certain cities, in other cities white people commit majority of the crimes, Sacramento is an example. So you can't just say watch Arabs all over the world for airplane hijackings and black people for roberies, you need to say watch Arabic people around high security areas and where there are huge crowd gatherings in America for possible terrorist activity, watch black people more closely in A,B and C cities for this type of crime, watch hispanic people in D,F cities, watch white people in E and W cities, and then change it based on crime and what race comits most of the crime in that area data. Yeah, I kinda had the same qustion. When you shoot at other ships, you can see their armour fall and when it gets bellow 50% you can see their FC bays get damaged, their reactor and so forth, some of my FC bays got blown up when my armour was at 91 and reactor down to 53% when the armour was at 82. I can agree with other systems getting damaged, but since AI has it that their main systems become damaged only when their armour is almoust gone, I want to have that too. By the way, forgot to add. Don't install any other programs after you format and reinstall windows, and do all the updates. Install BCM on the fresh system, and if it works then you will know that it was some other program interfering, if it doesn't then it's the cd-rom drive.

You will need DX 8.1 to play the game. The poblem you have is something in your system interfering with safedisk. What cd-rom drive do you have? I had a similar problem with safedisk when I got startopia and some other game, the start screen would pop up, then the safedisk logo and then it would just quit to desktop. You can try formating the hard drive, then just reinstalling windows, updating all the drivers and windows itself, and just installing BCM, see if that works. If it doesn't then it's definatly your cd-rom. Some of them fail the check that safedisk runs on them (or something like that).

I mean, "N" and "T" is a littel far from the "S" so it's not just like your finger just slipped.

Today is the first day since last week that I have taken out the BCM cd out my my cdrom.

Could it be added to the appendix in the upcoming patch which ships can use what upgrades? This would be really nice.

Ok, I guess the review is overall ok, he didn't cover all of the game, nor all of it's features, he is entitled to his opinions about the graphics, gameplay, and music, but what he shouldn't do is write something as a negative side of the game (no neutral traffic, traders, enemy craft appearing around the stations from nowhere, him unable to fly to the enemy when he set his destination through navitron and didn't cancel it first) when it's obvious that he wouldn't have those difficulties if he just read the manual and understood how to do things and what is going on around him first.

Crafts magically appear when you fire on enemy station? I guess he doesn't know that stations can launch their own craft, oh yea, he has the only ship with launchbays. No trafic, only military ships? Again, he probably doesn't know what those blue dots on radar are, nor how to use the radar. He encountered some hostile units while he had his destination coordinates in the NID display. Instead of canceling his destination coordinates he wanted the AI to fly to the hostile units and NOW he is wondering why his ship just continued to his destination. WHY are people who don't even read the manual are allowed ro review the game? He is supposed to be a game reviewer, not some amateur who just bought the game and posted his 2 paragraph opinion. Start reading P29 of the manual and finish on p33. You should put that information together to be able to set a mining drone on the moon.

Page 43 in the manual. Read under Medibay (cloning). This is the only way.

You mean you don't see any FX? Post you video card drivers, and do you have DX 8.1?

You must be using the backed up savegame which was played when you had the beta patch. I had the exact same problem, played for about 10 to 15 minutes then crashed. You have to delete them from the save folder (do not keep them there, they will crash the new games too) and start a new game.
