Well, I was actually asking if SC is considering AOL to be vanity or not. I just don't want to be banned. You see, AOL is about 25 bucks, got some nice tricks and pretty simple to use. Other services are either expensive (cable, satelite, ect...) or the ones that provide over modem are just crapy, too many pop ups and such, so I am not changing ISP but would still like to be able to log on these forums.

SC was giving Josh the right information and correcting him. What's wrong with that? Would you rather have him not reply at all and have Josh thinking that the game requires a minimum of 8mb video memory?

That's exactly what I am talking about. The war will not be never-ending but end rather quickly. Lets take this hypothetical situation. 1. We extend our terms to Afghanistan. Something along these lines. "You will surrender Osam and all his terrorist network, destroy/disclose all the terrorist camps in your territory or there will be serious replications" 2. If they do not comply we nuke them. By doing this we have done 2 things. We got rid of the terrorists organizations operating out of Afghanistan and showed other terrorist harboring countries that this is not a debate. 3. We extend the same terms to other terrorist harboring countries. They will either comply or face the same consequences, and believe me, they would rather comply once they see what happened to Afghanistan. That way the war would probably be over in about a year. Yes we would probably have retaliatory strikes but we would have them anyway and at least my way we will take care of the problem faster with great assurance that it will not happen again because any terrorist that wants to choose US as a target next time will know that not only his life is on the line (which they don't care about anyway) but also the life of his family, his people, his country of origin, his supporters and his believes. So from previous experience he will realize that if he does strike against US all that he believes in will be gone and that would serve no purpose. Also the people of the countries that are likely to sprout terrorism will try to contain and fight it themselves for fear of being discovered and annihilated. The US lost the Vietnam war because people lost interest and even became against the idea of it when they saw how much life and resources it drained. This war is different in terms that the attacks were on US soil and US citizens. This is no time to baby around with this situation and be all gentle about it. If the US people will loose interest (and they probably will, I hate to say this but the majority of us have very short attention spans and only worry about how our stock will be doing the next day rather then seeing the big picture of how our kids will live) so once the heat has passed and our troops are still in Afghanistan and casualties are mounting people will start screaming and asking to end this war, and all the piece demonstrations (I can't describe to you how I hate them, I saw them at San Francisco and thought, what the hell are those people doing, what if their kids were in NY and died in those buildings, would they still be doing this, what are they contributing to this country, are they even for this country?) will win over and then 10 or 20 years later we will see another terrorist attack on US soil, and why? Because we didn't stamp it out the first time that's why.

Basically what I am trying to say that it's kinda like the bully mentality. Unless he gets smacked hard enough he will persist in his ways and always try to threaten you or beat you, but once he gets slammed back hard he will understand that if he tries something again he will get slammed again only harder. We right now are babying around with them, (and I count the country/government/population as one, I meant look at all the taliban supporters in Afghanistan, without the people the government or country is nothing so people and their opinions even if they are oppressed play a huge role in countrys dealings because if people say enough is enough the government will be no more) so by babying around we are getting almoust zilch progress and might and probably will loose many American soldiers, but by slamming them hard they will immidiatly get the message and make a choice on if they want to live or basically die, then all we need to do is grant them the wish they would choose.

Freedom is IN the US. Not outside of it. I was watching CNN and some people were burning an epigy (spelling) of Bush and a sign which said "BUSH WARMONGER". Their minds are very much set, no matter how US behaves, they will still be against us and trust me, if they had a chance to come here and wreak havoc every one of those that I saw on TV would, even some young kid (about 12 to 14) was jumping in from of the camera along with adults, thrusting his fist with incredible hatred in his eyes. So by US being kind and careful we will loose more US life's and gain relatively little (ex. Vietnam). If we use more drastic matters (what should be good warfare tactics) we will loose less life's, and end this with much better results for everyone. Who now thinks that Germany will try to conquer Europe again, or that Japan will try to dominate the seas? If we drop some nukes and warn the rest of the middle east that if terrorists will be found in their countries they will face the same fate I can guarantee you 100% that they will try to get rid of those terrorists themselves rather than face annihilation.

Come on people, quit pissing off SC. First of all every time I see basically the same posts over and over again from different people and then SC trying to beat it into someone's head how something is makes me laugh so hard I get a headache. Then SC finally snaps and bashes someone for being not so smart, and then the guy he bashes apologizes and life goes on. So how about from now on we skip steps one and two and after the question is asked and SC replies, the next post should say something like "SC, sorry". That way the thread is not full of posts that don't mean much, and SC will be happier and healthier. But then again, will the forums be as fun a place to visit?

I personally don't care, wipe out Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, all that middle east terrorist spawning crap countries. Why loose American or any other supporting nations soldiers. Just do one big bang and then the life is better less things to worry about and very little American life lost, and that's what we ultimately should be concerned about, not the population of a country that supports terrorists.

SC, are you goint to have a character in GCO? If you will then will you start out with the same stats as anyone else or bump yourself up? On another note, I so want to be a trader in GCO and own my own station or two.

To make a boot disk go to your START --> SETTINGS --> CONTROL PANEL. A window will open up, double click on "ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS" another window will pop up with 3 tabs on the top of it, click the last tab which is to make a boot disk and follow the instructions from then on, and have a flopy ready.

Yeah,well I guess we will find out soon enough. Once the great cleansing passes. Ok, less worry about the forums and more about the game now. I can just picture picking up that box on Sunday, would be much better on Friday though, that way I would have all of the weekend to play it.

Hey SC can you tell us who those people are, or at least tell me how I rank on that list? I know that sometimes I can be harsh and rude, but I try to be civil with my posts and bring up valid concerns.

Because Sunday is the day that SC has the most free time to administer the punishment.

Where did you get that in my post? What I said is that SC is overly kind in letting veterans in the owners only forum without a valid game registration. It is his forum and he makes the rules so if he chooses to do that it's fine. What I was basically doing is trying to put some shame into people who knew about the game for a long time, knew it was coming out soon, and now that it's time starting to say things like they didn't pre-order when it was time and that they will get it on the second production run (which strongly believe they will otherwise they would not have hung around here for so long) but still, they should have pre-ordered in enough time to get the game in the first production run and not have the SC make exceptions and let people without a game register.

Anyway, what I wanted to say is SC is extremly kind in leting the vets who didn't get the game reregister in the owners only forum. Some developer would just say "Look, you had plenty of time, it was no surprise that the game would be out this summer, so if you didn't get it the first time what makes me think that you will get it later. So sorry but no game no registration".

I am disapointed and a little confused by the posts of some of the vets here. I see posts saying that some of you will only be able to get their copy of the game on a second run. That would be understandable for a newbie that was kinda caught off guard by when the game will be released and didn't have time to pre-order for the first production run, but for a veteran who knew about the game way back when and had almoust 6 months or more to pre-order that's just wrong. Yes, some of us don't have money, but how long does it take to save up $50 especially when you have a year time? I myself am a student, have bills and no money whatsoever and still managed to pre-order a copy because I know how great the game will be and now I see some posts basically saying that look, we had plenty of time but it slipped. What's going on here?

Yeah, it would be a frivolous lawsuit and commong sense would kick in a little later. BUT, what they did I would call a frivolous bill.

I have win98SE, it does give you the blue screen sometimes, but I am pretty happy with it. Easy to use, compatible with a lot of things and it's super easy to format/upgrade/reinstall your system (I heard it's not so with XP). So I am still undecided if I would upgrade to XP, probably won't.
