I would have been so ticked off that I would canceled my mobile services right there (even if it was a great deal) and sued them for frustration and all that.

I was just wondering what people thing about formating your HD every so often. I personaly do it once a year and have burned disks with my updated drivers and other things that I need. Is there any negative sides to formating HD, is it too often to do it once a year? Just your opinions.

Best video card? I think GF3. But in my case, I just formated my hd today, reinstalled everything, updated all the drivers and programs that I need. Computer runs very smooooooooth. Now I am just waiting.

And that is exactly the reason why we need private forums for people who bought the game. I for one don't want to bother with some dimwhit who only wants to stir up things and doesn't have anything legitimate to say.

Sure, you would think that you can't miss, but who knows, a scuffle starts, terrorist grabs the arm of a pilot... ect..., trust me, you want to minimize damage in the cockpit and terrorist shouldn't even get that far as to be in the plane but even if he does that he should be stopped before reaching the cockpit (hence airmarshals) and not have to fight with the pilot for the control of the plane and possibly shoot up the cockpit or have the plane come apart. If he can't take over the plane then he will definitely will want to at least have it blown up or make it unflyable. So realistically the whole security should be started on the ground and not have everyone focus on pilots having guns and protecting the plane, that should be the very very last resort.

Come on E5, let's start being nicer. Try to do it from Tacops, launch a shuttle and go through all the commands of retrieving cargo. Can't tell you exactly what commands they are (haven't played in a while, waiting for BCM) but if going through Tacops doesn't work then click on the "search" button in the top right corner and search legacy forum for something like "retrieving cargo" or "mugging a ship" try that and see what you find.

A key sheet. That's great. In BC3000AD I wrote out all the keys on a piece of paper, so this key sheet will make it easier to memorize the keys and I can have it right there at a glance. Nice.

And Fendi, I will get you as many numbers as you want. I just hope that people will start coming back and start getting the airline industry back on track.

But think about it, we are talking about 1 hole, if a pilot starts firing his gun, and terrorists have guns, and who knows how many misses there will be, and also the way avionics are now, it's one electronic display for pilot and one for copilot, if you hit that then all you are left with is your compass, VOR, artificial horizon, altimeter, and maybe VSI, and that's not much to shoot an approach with. So I really don't think that guns should be in the cockpit, in the passenger area maybe, but definitely not in the cockpit. Stun guns will not do much damage to the plane if fired and there's a miss but they will hopefully knock out the terrorist. Edited for spelling. [ 09-30-2001: Message edited by: Soback ]

Actually airplanes leak air through the pressure release valve and that leak is controlled. So a bullet hole would be an uncontrolled leak and stress fractures around the bullet hole can grow and make the whole airframe come appart. I am finishing my commercial licence in one of the top 5 flying academies right now, and that's what we are taught. (not about the bullet whole but decompressions, skin fatigue and all the things associated with altitude flight) Well, I send you a private message if you want to discuss it out of forum instead of making another 8 page thread.

What do you want SC to do? Kiss your @SS for being a BC fan? If you are nice SC is one of the best guys to get help from and he will be one of the nicest too, if you start showing attitude like you did, then he is right for responding like this. Anyway, I will not participate in this useless debate anymore, but give this usefull advice, the tech faq if very thorough, and if something doesn't work, then try and find a retail cd version of BC3000AD, believe it or not I still see them at EB world (saw a copy there last week). Or, the best option is get BCM, which will be supported and a ton better.

Also if anyone remembers a leer jet that had explosive decompression last year. Everyone died. It happened because the pressure release valve was defective and a bullet hole will pretty much have the same effect. After that you have only about 5 seconds to put on your oxygen mask or you pass out, and while you are putting it on you have to deal with a pressure drop (from 8,000 to 45,000), a temperature drop from 70s to -60s and that means that all the moisture in the air will crystalize and become ice in a matter of seconds (first breat or two gotta really hurt) you will probably pass out just because of that even if you get you oxygen mask on. So, a hole in the plane is a horrible thing.

I have been following pilots requests for guns in the cockpits and they have been denied. Which is a good thing. Fired gun can mean broken avionics(bad), pressurized oxygen bottle might be hit or something else that can blow(very bad), or, I am not a mechanic but if the bullet makes a hole in the airframe the pressure difference between 45,000feet and pressurized airplane (they are usually pressurized to 8,000feet pressure altitude) is huge so there might be a possibility of structural failure which means the whole plane coming appart. Now they have a new proposal for having stun guns, that one I like. Seems better than having nothing at all.

Yeah, show me one company that supports it's legacy games. Also show me the company where you can talk to the guy who makes the game you are playing and so that you can actually get help from him. Many companies have developers who hang out in forums, but once the game is out, and you have any problems with it, is that developer there? I don't think so. BC3000AD, is free, it's a great game, there's still unoficial support for it (that's why we are here) and sometimes even SC himself will jump in and help (even though he doesn't have to). So don't bash the support for this game because that's when everyone will stop being nice and you will hate it.

I kinda sound like all I care about is the games SC makes. Well, that's not like that at all, I will back him up and help him out if he needs it, just wanted to say that.

Vacation for SC? Well, on one hand I want him to be all nice, healthy rested so that he can make more games, but on the other hand I just feel like he should be working 16 hours a day and make everything better and faster. In the long run, I think vacation would do him and us more good, hey what's a month wait if it will make him perform better.

By the way, EFC comes close to the graphics I like, very smooth and looks like those 3d cartoons do. Still not a movie quality but OOOOH MAN, can't wait to get to the expansions for BCM.

What is he saying about BCM that can possibly be bad? I just can't imagine, I mean the AI is just amazing, the gameplay is great, no game offers anything that even comes close to it unless you get like 7 games and play them one right after another and their AI still wouldn't come close to BCM but you would get the idea for the gameplay. The only thing that I see he can be saying is a call for better 3d, but if it were even more better I don't think any of us have the computers to run it. (I would like a game that looks just like a movie, but that's pretty much impossible now maybe someday though.) So, what is his problem with BCM?

I had to drive my moms car once, and it's an automatic. My car is a manual so I am used to switching gears and all, so I am stopped at the red light, then it turns green and with my left foot I am trying to find the clutch (forgot it's an automatic), time passes, people behind me are starting to honk, I am getting frustrated, then finally I get so pissed that I look down where my feet are and see only two pedals, realizing that it's an automatic I step on the gas and pass the intersection just as the light turns yellow, I can just imagine how mad those people were that had to wait for the light to turn green again, but I was out of there fast.

Yep, manual is always better. I just like the response, power, and the connection you have with the car.
