  1. quote:Originally posted by Paddy Gregory: I was just wondering, suppose you found a BC parked up on a planet, and noticed the Commander was taking a stroll, what is to stop you landing your crappy cruiser and commandeering the BC? I suppose the crew might take offense, or would they? Would your race/caste automatically prevent you from doing that? Just a thought. [RP]Nathan rose from his chair in alert. The commander was out hiking planet side, so he was in charge of ship security. The now approaching cruiser clearly ment harm. 'hold it, hold it... fire now all weapons' he shouted. The PTA, turrets and a Vagrant or two quickly made the cruiser look like a big swiss cheese. 'Anything happened while I was away' the commander asked?' 'Nah, not much' Nathan said pointing his nose to the still smoking remains of the cruiser' [/RP] The crew might take offense? Should think so!
  2. quote:Originally posted by Cmdr Jeffery Eu: Therefore, I’m calling out to all traders, assassins, mercenaries to team up in setting up a pioneering CORPORATION. I'll try to set up a trading corporation (conform the rules set out by Nova), but will take me some time to get everything into place. Zlany, still around to help me? 3. quote:Originally posted by Jaguar: Has anyone else noticed that in the Commanders square, there is a tourist, and he has been sitting there doing his little dance for the last week or so? Not moving, not talking, and not doing anything else, is this someones Bot gone bad? Yep, its mine, and its just recording who visits the place. Should be doing 'nothing' in front of my building, but being lasy it is still there. I should finish the job it some day (busy busy busy)
  4. quote:Originally posted by aramike: Hehe, check your profile Riga. Cheers aramike. I know it's a piece of space junk, but it's mine, all mine...
  5. quote:Originally posted by Malleus Malefictorum: You'll have to register in the fleets database once you decide on what Race/caste/name of your ship (if you have one)/and base. One thing I don't know is how you get to decide your ship. In an actual fleet it's given to you but with the Indies who knows? Any answers anyone? I for one want a Garid. Read the UCVs and fleets thread. It was just discussed there. Best to contact aramike about your registration and asset type. I for one chose my ship myself (LRT-15), but then, as a trader you do not have a lot of choice, so nobody objected . Nevertheless, my asset type is not listed in the fleet database (aramike?, he humbly said...) [ 08-06-2001: Message edited by: Riga ]
  6. quote:Originally posted by Jaguar: Well broke down and bought a membership, I love legos!! lol I'd love to see some more of the commanders join us on Activeworlds, it is fun, I had forgotten how much fun it was to build fascinating things without that little piddling thing called gravity, and how much fun it is to talk to other people while you are doing it. So, Come on all, come join us on activeworlds!! heh, quite a few commanders _are_ there, just never at the same time... (just like me, i'm away for the weekend) [ 08-03-2001: Message edited by: Riga ]
  7. quote:Originally posted by Epsilon 5: Ok, Wraith, establish a security perimeter around his house, ISS, check the supermarket and Orion will escort the SC in all his movements. The insurgency can go on permanent patrol around the city. We traders can resupply him, so there is no need for him to go outdoors
  8. quote:Originally posted by Epsilon 5: And if you don't have any? No, in fact, you cannot even choose your asset when you register, only admins can assign people to ships. Okay, that's alright for fleeters (FC get to decide), but what about UCVs? How do they officially get assigned a vessel? I just chose an asset for my first signature and nobody complained about it, so I guess (at least for a trader) the choice is so limited that nobody would ever question/deny your choice. Knowing that my application to the fleet-db was processed by aramike, it's probably him who would assign an asset.
  9. quote:Originally posted by aramike: ...it takes so long because I'm about the only one that ever checks the damned thing. I'll go in and clear out the recruits tonight. Thanks, just saw my application came through.
  10. quote:Originally posted by Cmdr Nova: Well, you get the picture.... Uh, where are the trader guys? It's them that's going to be in this. I've the feeling that it is not yet time to start a guild (i've seen 3 traders so far). Maybe we better have a 'gentlemen agreement' between us traders. On another note: The Trade building in AW (974N 896E) is progressing nicely. At least the coorporate building is there
  11. Hi, I registered in the fleet database last week, but my application is not yet processed. Normally I would ask a fleet commander if I could join the fleet, but being a trader, I'm not sure who to ask. Advise?
  12. quote:Originally posted by Cmdr Nova: Perfectly said Spuzzum. IMO, the Terran-Caste Police are pretty much like the FBI. They take the entire caste, and not one planet. Comparison: FBI takes entire country, state/county/town(city) police take their area. Still wondering...... I agree, I would like a police escort all the way, not in one starsystem only
  13. First of all, how many traders are around anyway (only one is registered, mine is'nt approved yet, and then there is Z'lany, making a total of three) If we're to have several guilds, they are very small indeed We should start with a central location to start from (for argument sake let's use Polaris, but any other will do as well). This does not mean that all traders have residence there, but it's where the main HQ is located. Here the 'juicy' contracts are all collected as given to the indiviual traders. Just my 2 ct, other ideas?
  14. quote:Originally posted by Herro YuY: I'm currently using Linux Mandrake 8.0 which is good for starters(like me) Debain is a good OS, but the installation isn't as easy as Mandrake or Red hat. I've been upgrading quite a few machines from RedHat 4.2 -> 5.2 -> 7.0 and have installed from scratch as well. It's very easy (and graphical), but if you decide to use RedHat, then do not forget to check the RedHat site for updated packages/fixes (and do not use the gcc 2.96!, downgrade to 2.95.3
  15. quote:Originally posted by Epsilon 5: Traders can only have unarmed transports. Commercial can have any transports, including the armed ones. True, although I agree that a _little_ defensive power would be nice. But since we're not going to have that, we just have to enlist some help... One thing confuses me though. An unarmed transport has shuttles. These shuttles are capable of carrying an ATV. Yet unarmed transports have no ATV's listed, but armed transports do. Are traders supposed to walk if there is no place to park our shuttle? [ 07-06-2001: Message edited by: Riga ] [ 07-06-2001: Message edited by: Riga ]
  16. quote:Originally posted by Epsilon 5: In fact, it should be, IMHO: Riga (Terran/Trader) Launch base (PLANET) Ship class "Quote" Took the format from the message by Nova. He gave it as an alternative. I'm also not sure of any titles. Am I supposed to _not_ have a title, can I just use 'commander'? Any rules here?
  17. So my sig would be something like the one below. I registered myself in the fleet database yesterday. How would these guilds work. There clearly cannot be one. Any other rules? Can there be one per station, one per star system? [rp]Hmmm, the price these mercs ask is WAY to high[/rp] Would be nice for us poor traders to be a _bit_ organized.
  18. Yes, I'm just tired of getting robbed, so let us get organized!
  19. Hello, just read the description of the signature. Would something like this do? Riga (Terran/Trader) UCV Balmung (LRT 15) "We always know someone who bids more" Z'lani, need any help founding a guild?
