I was thinking about letting my ass being saved, let myself be transported to Velari and start my vengeance there in Reminicents - Act 2. Or does anyone want to play this attack further? Any thoughts?

quote:Originally posted by Kenada: If I where to join Intercorp, would it be possible for me to work as please? What is policy for leave of absence? Would I have to put so much time into Intercorp? No, you're not required to do anything. You're an indie and decide on your own fate. If you like to trade with Insurgents, Gammulans or even Raiders (if they'd let you ) then that is up to you. If you become a member then there are rules to abide, BUT these rules only apply as long as you are on one of the intercorp bases. Outside the base perimiter you can do pretty much as you please. If you decide to stay away for a couple of weeks, then that's ok. For me it's just that I do not have to worry about your well-being No obligation to trade for intercorp as well. However, if and when you do decide to get an 'intercorp' contract then you are expected to carry it out by the rules. If you do not, then the penalty is exclusion from Intercorp (or we pay some mercs to dispose of you ) Intercorp is an organisation/place that creates opportunaties for associated members and let members get together safely and with a few advantages such as, but not limited to, discounts. Nothing more, nothing less (at least until GCO or BCM multiplayer comes out...) And like TRD already stated, read the charter, it's all there [ 10-18-2001: Message edited by: Riga ]

Demolition did you cut and paste my post on purpose?

[RP] Stardate: November 2, 3020 Spacial Coordinates: Unknown, probably still near Polaris 2 Location: UCV Appeal The room Aloia and Riga were held captive in was dimly lit. The wall they were chained to felt damp and cold and clearly intended to make them feel miserable. The faint smell of oil started to give them a dry and irritated throat and the chill metal floor did little to conform them either. ‘What do you make of it?’ Aloia asked. ‘Dunno yet, could be a number of people, but only two come to mind. There are others as well but I don’t think that they have the courage or resources to pull off something like this’. They both remained silent for a while and listened to the sounds that come from outside the room. ‘Sounds like a battle out there’ Riga remarked and Aloia just nodded. ‘Only Marcus Bra’ah or Curt Fisher would be daring enough to get both Jeffery and me in one go and believe that they could get away with it. They got away with at least half of it already’ he had to admit. ‘Both crossed our path when we first started Intercorp. Bra’ah was introduced himself as a trader and applied for membership. Little did we know at that time and we accepted him. That turned out to be a mistake. He actually had strong ties with a band of raiders and we ran into an ambush. He used his membership to pretend he was running a trader vessel and that way ambushed mercs. We intercepted a mayday transmission that all but wrote it out for us. Immediately we started to chase him, but he took refuge in a raider star station. No touching him there’. Aloia remained silent so Riga continued. ‘The other guy is called Curt Fisher… Curt was, ehh, at least appeared to be an asset to Intercorp. He ran through GalCom Academy but left after some alleged theft. He came to intercorp shortly after and became a member. He successfully served mercenary contracts for at least three years. We did not know any details but all parties seemed to be happy with his services, or at least in the beginning. Trouble started in his third year at Intercorp. His employers started to question his methods since more and more the loss of life seemed to be excessive. In the end he became a murderer for pleasure and he changed identity.’ ‘Of both I fear Curt the most. I keep a little book that contains information of each and every member of Intercorp, past and present. I use it for identification purposes since every now and then we find one of our members killed after an attack by for instance Raiders. He changed identity, but I could identify him with that information. He certainly does not like that fact, not at all! Worse, he knows that I’ve got that book’. Outside the noises started to fade away… [/RP] Sorry guys, I don't know how that battle outside will turn out, so this is just some neutral backgroup stuff.

Starting tomorrow I will start to update the intercorp website with the proposal posted earlier (10-14-2001 17:38) in this thread. This does not mean that it is definite, it still is subject to change. [ 10-15-2001: Message edited by: Riga ]

quote:Originally posted by demolition: Good post Riga I could pull some strings and get your mission specs. PM them to me and i'll post em in my next RP Sorry Demolition, but I never plan my storyline in advance. I just sit down, read back one or two posts to get 'into it' and then start writing. I never know what Riga is doing until I'm actually writing it (usually rewrite it three times, but never mind that...). Anyway, I'm onboard the Eliminator now, and you can decide to take me along, or send me back to Velari (in which case I find a way to Andromeda as well )

[RP] UCV Balmung Location: Following the GCV-Eliminator 23:57 'Eliminator, this is UCV-Balmung. How can we be of service' Riga asked. The Eliminator hailed them a minute ago. Clearly the Balmung was on their scope and they now wanted to know why we were following them. 'UCV-Balmung, this this is the GCV-Eliminator. Please state your destination and the reason you appear to be following us'. The metallic sounding voice never ceased to amuse Riga. In his head he always envisoned a small boy holding a huge microphone. 'We are responding to a transmission that appears to be a distress call and to which you seem to be heading as well, over'. Aloia looked up at him and he schrugged his shoulders. A minute silence followed. They were probably mulling over his answer, trying to decide what to do next. 'Commander Demolition would like to meet you in person. Would you be willing to transport over to the Eliminator?'. 'What the hell for?' Riga asked as this was not standard procedure. On the other hand, it was a GalCom vessel. Should be safe... 'Never mind, I'll transport in a few minutes. Just give us some coordinates first'. A few minutes later he was escorted to the commanders quarters onboard the GCV-Eliminator. One of the escorting ensigns halted him and pushed a door panel which opened the door. 'Welcome Riga, come in, we have some serious matters to discuss' the voice of commander Demolition sounded. As Riga stepped inside, the door silently closed behind him. 'Sit down, Riga. Want something to drink?' Commander Demolition casually asked. 'I'm sure you didn't invite me here just to have a drink commander'. 'You're right, let's talk business. First of all. What are your intentions when you discover the source to the transmission?' Riga sensed that the commander knew more than he did, but he didn't want to let him have the advantage of knowing. 'We've responded to a distress call of a GalCom Craft near the Gammulan border' Riga bluffed. He knew the heading of the signal, which was in the direction of the Gammulan border, but he didn't know the distance. 'Right, and you really want to go to the gammulan border in an unarmed transport?'. Demolition smiled, but also heard of Riga's reputation, so nothing suprised him. 'Looks are deceiving' Riga replied and looked commander Demolition straight into the eyes. 'Lets cut the crap, what's going on?'. Riga always was very direct. For him it was the most successful of dealing with people, and also the fastest. Commander Demolition regarded his for half a minute and made a decision. 'Ok, a few hours we received an garbled call from the GCV-Andromeda'. We do not even know whether it is a distress call and if so, how serious the situation is. We need to find out what it's status is. In order to do that we need firepower, and possibly additional things like first aid kits, blankets and the like.' Riga didn't expect openness like this. Normally these commanders gave away very little information. 'I carry everything you could possibly need, medication, food, even weapons in case you run out'. It was the equivalent of inviting yourself to the party, but as Riga saw it; a trader must be shameless... [/RP] Demolition. It's up to you what to do next. BTW: I leave Velari at 23:50 and you hail me at 22:50. Can you hail me at 23:56? EDIT: corrected some spelling [ 10-15-2001: Message edited by: Riga ]

Want to go Indie... but what to do?
peterkist replied to Pedro Pablo Laracuente's topic in Misc. Race/Caste Affiliations
quote:Originally posted by Cmdr. P. Laracuente: I want to go UCV but i don't know how to, can anybody tell me, please! It all depends on what you want to do. You want to be indie on the forum? Just choose a race and caste and optionally a launchbase. Put it in your signature and your an indie! (You can use my sigature as an example). We'll further explain where you have choosen (I'm pressed for time at the moment). If you want to be an indie in the fleet database (so that you can play on the MP servers) then you first have to register here. After that post in thisthread and say that you registered and want approval. One of the admins will consider your application. Be quick though since the registration closes on Oct 15th (for me that already is today!). I don't know if that means that applications on 15th are accepted or if that means that only applications that are made before are considered. -

This is just one idea I had. If it's to complex, just tell me, then I'll post the other idea and remove this one. Like the twist tough... [RP] Stardate: November 2, 3020 Spacial Coordinates: Polaris 2. Location: UCV Appeal Riga slowly opened his eyes. He had a splitting headache, but the lights were dimmed so it quickly faded. Once he had cleared his head a bit he glanced to his left and saw Aloia. She was lying on her side with her back towards him, breathing shallow. ‘Where am I?’ he thought and reached out with his right hand to wake Aloia but was stopped immediately by a chain. Some groaning on Aloia’s part alerted Riga that she was waking. ‘What happened?’ she mumbled as she tried to reach her face with her hands. A metallic sound told Riga that she was chained too. ‘We’re in a bit of a situation here, Al’ he softly said as he heard footsteps approaching the door at the far end of the room they were lying in. The door slid open and a tall figure occupied the entrance. ‘So, sleeping beauties are awake’ he said while he entered the room. ‘You don’t know me, but you do know my employer. He’s very happy to accommodate you for a visit. Probably the last visit you will ever make, but since the other person required to attend is not yet … available, you both will have to wait a little longer’. The tall man was clearly amusing himself. ‘My employer has, in the past, had dealings with your organization. And frankly had bad experiences with it. He would like to correct the wrong doings that have been done to him and invites you and commander Eu to join him in an open discussion.’ An evil grin showed on the man’s face. ‘You’re aboard the UCV – Appeal’ he explained further, ‘which name was borrowed from the real vessel, which currently no longer is, ehh, servicable. Currently we’re in the process of inviting commander Eu. The welcoming party consists of 14 ships and will invite hime shortly. While the man was ranting on, Riga frantically tried to remember all people he had dealings with in the past. He couldn’t think of any. The man finally finished. ‘Well, enjoy your stay while it lasts, I currently have other important things to do’. With that he stepped back and left the room. ‘What do you think?’ Aloia asked. ‘I really have no idea. Must be something that happened when Jeffery and I started Intercorp. Cannot think of anything else’. An image started to form in Riga’s mind, but he couldn’t put his finger on it, not yet. [/RP] EDIT: changed location and spatial coordinates. quote:Originally posted by Rico Jansen: Yeah, but that's only if you guys are lucky enough to get one. So true... And if not then I probably need to spend two solid days doing the Galcom - Genesis run so that I have capital to invest in Intercorp (that is if I get access to the fleet server)

quote:Originally posted by Kenada: To my amazement, a few people have already begun preparing for GCO, and for MP. Intercorp is one example. Since I am a trader, and probably a non-respectable, when come down to GCO, I wont be seen much in places that have security in many ways... MY REPUTATION would hinder that. Therefore, there would be a problem. But I see it as a opportunity not to unite, but come together in a different sense, as a "family." The scum of society (including me), needs a haven to call our own. I place where we gather to conduct our business and don't have to worry about laws inforcers breathing down our back. Mainly, a place were the hunted can take a brake. Wether is a isolated moon, or a Space Port, it would work, but some would have to be a little more dedicated than other. It would have to be defended. It would be a challenge... You can take it wherever you like. You're an indie aren't you? But the reasons you mentioned were exactly the trigger for me and a few others to start Intercorp. AFAIK, you're referring to Intercorp's equivalent on the other side of the reputation scale. As for ppl preparing for MP. Correct me if I'm wrong, but those fleet leaders (and SC ofcourse) have been preparing for MP for the last couple of years. We Intercorp characters are merely the newcomers , rather active, but new nonetheless. Anyway, bottom line is that you can do whatever you want in BCM/GCO, and so can you

quote:Originally posted by Rico Jansen: You don't have a reputation with me. Please elaborate on how bad I should consider it. What makes you a bad trader? Hehe, he didn't say he was a bad trader, he just said he had a bad reputation... (semantics, semantics )

quote:Originally posted by Rico Jansen: Simple, don't do it yet. Investing in 3rd parties is not wise if you're just starting your business. Same as the organisation thread, Jef. Ya got to keep your business afloat pal. Too risky. You're right, but I didn't think of carring the plan out immediately. I merely see it as a possibility that is feasable in the future, but feasible nonetheless. Anyway, it was just a (first) reaction on Charles post. quote: And Perhaps there can be a (one) Time Limited IOSC. (Intercorp owes SC) No need, he created the station commanders carrier

Ok, my bit on the economics. I don't want to go into the convoy stuff here, that would make it too complex. It's just a proposal, so let me know what you think. Personal Contract Fee (PCF) Indies do not get a salary, but a starting capital. However, Intercorp members get to calculate a part of their contract’s profits as a Personal Contract Fee (PCF). The PCF is per contract (not every 12 or 24 hours) and is paid for ‘personal labor’. This fee increases as their experience increases. Each division defines 5 experience levels and describes directives of how to get to the next experience level. It starts at 50.000 for new members (level 1) and increases by a multiple of 2 for each subsequent level. * Level 1 = 50.000 * Level 2 = 100.000 * Level 3 = 200.000 * Level 4 = 400.000 * Level 5 = 800.000 Contract Value (CV) The Contract Value (VC) determines how much money is involved in the contract. This varies per caste. Trader: VC equals the Profit (Selling Price – Buying Price). Merc: * Escorting: VC of escorted party. * Other: VC determined beforehand by both parties. Other castes: VC determined by both parties beforehand. Fee Of Service (FOS) The Fee Of Service is the amount of money a member gets for services offered and is calculated using the following formula. VC * (distance * danger)% + PCF The percentage is calculated over the VC. If this involves a trader or commercial then the profit is taken, otherwise the value of the contract’s subject (e.g. the value of the vessel that is escorted, the ‘value’ of the person that is to be assassinated, etc). Distance: 1 = local patrol zone 2 = to next patrolzone (includes crossing a quadrant border!) 3 = within quadrant (more than 1 jump) 4 = to other quadrant (at least 3 jumps, otherwise distance = 3) Danger: Level 1 – 4, 1 = cakewalk, 4 = deadly. Both parties have to agree on the danger level beforehand during negotiations. Surely GalCom – Genesis would be 1, Sol – Gammula would be 4 and assassinating a Colonist would be 1, Karl Reines would be 4. For example, a merc (experience level = 3) escorting someone from GalCom to Velari: (3 * 2)% + 200.000 Lets assume that the contract value = 7.000.000 (6% * 7.000.000) + 200.000 = 620.000 Fees * 4% of the FOS will be paid to the respective division. * 25% of that 4% will be paid to Intercorp * 3% will be paid in docking fees if an Orion, Wraith or Prime station is used. If a contract implies a return trip starting at one of these stations and includes a return trip then the docking fee is per contract and thus only paid once. Note that negotiations with these fleets still have to be carried out and as such this docking fee is not required yet. [ 10-14-2001: Message edited by: Riga ]
