What about a cure for Fat Finger Syndrome though?

The name of Star Wars Episode 2 has been announced. Does this conjure up images of killer tomatos for anyone else? I hope it's a joke

How long before my application gets yayed or nayed? APPROVED [ 08-07-2001: Message edited by: aramike ]

ZoneAlarm d/led and installed, thanks for the input guys. It actually detected a hit while I was playing around with it. Now I need to know how to use the bloody thing properly!

Ok, already sent my application. Decided to go as a Terran cos I couldn't think of a Droidian name. Got a cool ship name though: Cuthulain, he is a hero in Irish celtic mythology. See you out there guys.

When I finally get my sweaty paws on BCM, I'm gonna have to decide where my loyalties will lie. Not being renowned for towing the line, I've decided to go it alone, but as what? Mertc, assassin, raider? And which race, I quite fancy being a Droidian myself, is that possible? I like the idea of being an assassin, but do I have to register with anyone? Seems a little straange to announce myself as such, but there you go. So, what next?

Just want an opinion from youz guyz..... I only have a 56k dial-up modem, so I don't have any firewalls installed. I'm probably online for about a total of an hour a day (at home that is). Is it worth my while getting a firewall? If so which is the best freeware one? I've heard that Zone Alarm is pretty good, anyone have any opinions on the matter?

Max is Paynefully short and BCM is still in crunch. What now?

(I also picked up Emperor: Battle for Dune...so far it looks really great! the story is pretty cool too so far and the production values are really high...but then, I've only played it for about an hour so far. I'm on mission 3 of the Atreides. later, Lucas mmmmm, money to burn eh? lucky you! Just checked our budget for August, no more 'puter goodies for me this month.

Seen the screenshots, read some reviews. Not interested. Why does he always have the same expression (ie grimace) in ALL the screenshots I've seen?

I fully intend to rectify that travesty very soon (3 pay periods in August work wonders for addictions such as these ) I have wanted to play freespace 1 and 2 in fact and will probably pick up both of them (even though the reviews for 2 have been FAR more favourable than the original). Get them both, you will love them! The story follows quite nicely from 1 to 2. The graphics, gameplay and story are excellent and once you've finished there are numerous user-made campaigns to try out (I recommend Derelict and Warzone). There is also a very helpful and knowledgeable Freespace community.

I think that's fair enough. Just take the rough with the smooth Hellbinder and you'll be fine. I've only been here s few weeks and I learnt that already.

Those big planets don't half look polygonal though.... Have you come across the invisible models though? To re-iterate; if I die in mission 2 (marine) or 4 (pilot) and restart the mission, most of vehicle/fighter is missing. For instance, with the ATV only the turret is visible, and with the fighter only the tail fins and nose cone.

The only way to avoid getting killed immediately is to put your throttle on full, and drive behind some of the bigger buildings. Then you pop out to shoot some stuff, and THEN invariably get blown to bits. At least you last longer that way While I'm here, anyone thought about the 'giant planet and corrupted model associated with Bonus Ep2 mission (GPCMABEp2M) syndrome' I mentioned in a previous post?

mmm, maybe you guys are going to change my mind....... Should've bought the damn English version when I was in Ireland

Update. My mistake, they weren't actually married, but they were living together. According to our friend, it had been an ongoing situation for quite a while. Must have hit boiling point I guess. She heard the shouting, then the shots, went to the balcony and saw a car pulling away at speed. She then went round to the front of their flat with a flashlight and could see the victims through the window. She was the only one who called the police, can you believe that? I saw her this evening, she is really, REALLY shaken up and her doctor had to give her something to calm her nerves. My wife went up to check up on her and there is still blood in the stairwell. She was really angry that no-one else had called the Police, but my missus pointed out that at least she did. One of the victims was still alive when the cops arrived, but died later in hospital. But as my wife pointed out, at least she had people with her when she passed away. It's terrible, just terrible. Everyone's completely at a loss.

Tried the Operation Flashpoint demo, can't say I was overly impressed, reminded me of an up-to-date Delta Force. Not saying I disliked it intently, but I was thinking of getting it, until I tried the demo. Aren't demos meant to leave you begging for more? This one left me a little cold, kind of a 'so what?' attitude. Isn't that strange?Maybe it's one of those games you need to get into. Normally I like FPS games, but this one just didn't do it for me. Having said that, I'll probably end up buying it and absolutely loving it to death, leaving dust to gather on my copy of BCM (j/k SC, honest). One game I'm really waiting for is Deus Ex 2, the first one blew my mind. Moreso than any other I think.

This may be nit-picking, but the trees look a little odd in some shots; leaf patterns etc, can't quite put my finger on it. Like the Alpine-type shots though, remind me of days on the piste . Just curious, will vehicles and characters leave tracks in the snow/sand? Nice effort though.

Which is why I'm posting this here. My wife phoned me at work today. There was a double murder and suicide in our appartment complex last night! Some strange love triangle apparently: husband came home, found wife and lover together, shot them both then drove off in the car and shot himself. Can't say I would have known them at all, but one of my wife's friends was their neighbour and was the one who called the police. My wife tried to phone her today, but she wasn't in, can't say I blame her at all. This is a very quite neighbourhood too, very middle-class, professional etc. Still can't believe it

You know, I'd love to get all, or most of those games as well as Red Faction and C&C Renegade, Freelancer too (whenever it arrives), but with studying, family, and above all, money restraints, I have decided to concentrate on one game for the foreseeable future. Of course this has to be BCM. Long may it keep me busy.
