A few years ago if somebody asked me if they can play games on laptops I would've said NO. I tried running Ms Flightsim 95 on my dads laptop and though it ran the frame rate was appalling. Nowadays I can't really comment on that as some laptops now (including yours) are faster than my old rig (PIII-800mhz) which I bought last year. That rig ran the demo with no problem. If I'm not mistaken SC said in an old post(months ago) to send it to him and he'll test it for you. He was joking you know..... [ 11-11-2001: Message edited by: Fendi ]

quote: still dont get how they pilot those things with the controls A good place to look for that info is in Robotech (Macross, Invid). I can't say I've read the book for Starship Troopers but Robotech books (and cartoons) are damn cool. If you're thinking of the motorcycle suit in the Invid series, it's done all through the mind. In the first series however it's just like in Crazy Ivan or Mech warrior. Or if you want to get really weird try the Japanese version of Transformers. You have to be a contorsionist to be one of the "power masters" which fits in the back of the Mech (in this case Optimus Prime). You don't pilot the mech as such but transfer your conciousness to the mech itself.

There's a cybernetics department right next to the one I go to everyday in University. Paddy would know what I'm on about. I'll try to be friendly with one of the lecturer and ask them if mechs are viable vehicles. You guys should see what the "spider" robot could do. It's sooooo sweet. Now imagine it being scaled up really realy big...... a 20 meter in height worth of Arachnaphobia!!!

At least if you were president you can get the CIA to hunt for Shirley and label him and his mates as terrorrists. You can tap into his phone lines and screw up his internet connection for life. p.s. If you ever need a "government sponsred assassin" you could always look me up.

Ahhhh...so the two of you are different people. Kinda reminds me of the time when people thought that Michael and Janet Jackson are the same person.

Well I've just given another 'hint' to my wife. I do hope she gives the f/f. The last thing I want is another pair of jeans as I've got tons of em. Hope the force will be with me soon.....

Hmmmm maybe I don't have to wait till after Christmas after all. All I have to do is hint to the missus for a nice Christmas present. For god's sakes the woman wants me to teach her how to drive in my new Scooby. The least she could do is buy me a f/f joystick this year. Hehe Gryphon you think it's "Cerys"(my daughter) proof too? Hehe I guess those guys in Heathrow will never learn their lesson as it's not the first time it happened to them.
-
Another one already? What's the next countdown gonna be? Oh I know........ It will never end.
-
Wolferz the bit that may break when I play a game using the joystick would most likely be the force feedback bit itself. But as my current joystick (Precision Pro 2) is going along quite fine, I might upgrade it to the Force Feedback version after Christmas if you think it will last. Oh Jaguar you would have thought that me and my wife would've learnt our lesson but what are the chances of that eh? My wife now wants another baby. She really loves the punishment don't you think?

OMG they're coming to get me!! Help me Tac!!

Didn't Jet Li rejected a part in the Matrix 2? Isn't it ironic that Jet Li would rather act in an unproven film rather than a past blockbuster hit eh?
-
Personally I wouldn't buy a Force Feedback joystick as I doubt it would pass the Fendi test (see past posts). I think I'll stick with the precision pro 2 for now. I know that the Force Feedback won't last with me as I'm quite a heavy handed gamer. Not to mention the fact that a little girl who somehow knows how to open doors at barely 2 years old doesn't help much with any of my 'toys'.
-
But still how can you go wrong when Jet Li stops a bullet with a gun eh? Then again Jet Li should've stuck with Hong Kong films as he was best suited there with films like Once upon a time in China and other flims.

Antyhing can happen on the way. There's always the delays caused by transport that is not within SC's control. Besides don't you think SC wants to get this game out to the market more than we want to play it? He spent tons of cash and his time making the game. So just be like me and relax.

Squirrel meat is yummy. Perhaps we should open up a squirrel farm and sell it's meat for a profit. That way we shouldn't worry about mad cow's disease and foot and mouth disease when we eat it's meat. Besides it tastes like chicken (doesn't everything?)

Remember a lot of people are looking for a game like this. The closest game to BCM at the moment is only OFP. And even then in OFP you are stuck on earth. Space, land and air battles ( lets forget about sea, I'm hydrophobic), how could you go wrong eh? This is THE GAME to have!!

Easy, they actually digitally mastered the claymore into a lightsabre.... hundreds of them. I should've caught on that Jedis don't wear kilts.
-
The who's online bit would be nice. That way I can see who else is online with me as my timezone leads by several hours and I guess most of you guys across the Atlantic would be asleep then. Um do we have a poll feature? If not it would be a handy feature to toy with.
-
Damn I found out for certain the trailer I saw was a fake. The lightsabre scene was actually from Braveheart. I'm a fool.
-
It was a hoax? It kinda look look geniune to me with all the actors in it. But I also got the 'illegal' footage with Obi Wan and the guy from Cruel Intentions (Reese?) dueling. But if you want a good hoax, check out American Jedi, Troops and Legacy of the Jedi. Now thats hilarious.
-
Hehe I've got the trailer and from what I see I was pretty impressed. If you want the trailer just d/l it from Kazaa. For half a second you can see hundreds of jedi (with lightsabres) in one scene. Oh yeah unfortunately Jar Jar Binks is still in it.
