  1. Boss, I remember having this problem once, or even twice1 Setup.cfg is corrupted. Most likely during his intitial configuration after installing and attempting to run the game for the first time. If so, it's easily corrected. Delete Setup.cfg from your BC folder, and if Joystick.cfg is there, delete it as well. Then restart the game. When the options page shows up, select config, turn off Midi, and do not attempt to have it run via Joystick. Let me know if you get that far, and what happened after you didn't try to install a joystick. ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Spectre Fleet Spectre StarStation ICV Necromancer Official BC3K Tester [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Long Live The Insurgency, Long Live Mother Earth, And Long Live Battlecruiser Developers and Fans!"

  3. Thanks Tac, me backside is getting a little red about now. Can only take so many teeth before "Ole Rattler's" gotta bite someone else to take his mind off of it. Do me a favor, when you send it to me, Use Word if you have it. That way you can imbed the pic's directly into the doc and I won't need to open more than one file. Blades, Old Antti didn't do you any favors. He located his group, now yours here: Fleet Name: ORION Fleet Alliance: GALCOM Fleet HQ: BETELGEUZE/EUROPA (JUPITER) Flagship: GCV-PREDICANT Fleet Site URL: http://www.orionfleet.cjb.net Fleet Leader: CMDR Antti Junkkari Fleet Location: Jupiter/Sol Starstation Locations (Model/Planet orbit) Starstation (BETELGEUZE) : Starpath/Europa (Jupiter) Starbase Locations (Model/Planet/System/Name) Starbase1: earthb/io/jupiter/base1 Starbase2: marsb/europa/jupiter/base2 Starbase3: marsb/ganymede/jupiter/base3 Starbase4: earthb/adrastea/jupiter/base4 Now that makes quite a quandry right about now. I've reviewed the Pzones.pdf and there are none in the region of Jupiter. You'll have to venture out some to find it. BTW gentlemen, Starbase2 on Mars belongs to ISS. Don't even think about it. For that matter, Starbase1 On earth belongs to Prime I believe. Don't think about that either. Only take PZ's that are Terran Military. All others are off limits. Blades, I'm still looking, but MZ-8 on Earth sure looks good to me. There's 32 ships in that MZ. That close enough to the beach for ya? ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Spectre Fleet Spectre StarStation ICV Necromancer Official BC3K Tester [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Long Live The Insurgency, Long Live Mother Earth, And Long Live Battlecruiser Developers and Fans!"
  4. Doc thantos, I fear that you have the wrong impression of this Bulletin Board. You'll not find a tighter group of gamers anywhere. We do have and maintain a sense of discipline here on this site. Why? Because the Developer, Derek Smart demands it of us. He made the game with military background as it's premise. He simply wants good order and discipline on his site, not wanting flame wars and degradation on a grand scale. I can't fault him for that. As one of the "Old Commanders", like yourself who bought the game the first week it hit the shelves, I've seen it all up here. I've seen many prosper and gain recognition and acclamation here. I've seen others banished because of unacceptable behavior. I've personally been the "watch dog", so to speak, protecting those that made mistakes. I'll not sit idly by and see bad things happen to someone who makes honest mistakes, at least not without jeopradizing myself on their behalf. I've also caused the dismissal of those who knowingly violated the rules of this site. I may be cruel, but I'm damned fair! I think, if you give it a chance, you've found a home here. Look at it from this prospective if you will. How many times did you instruct that medical student you were teaching to run a certain test. I know it's not the same life-and-death scenario, but how many times did you go through a certain proceedure with them before you told them to research the proceedure and give you a detailed report? It's the same thing here, only not on such a grand scale. Could never be. Your job demands perfection. Ours here demands that we enjoy it. I hope you enjoy it as well. Welcome Aboard Doc! ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Spectre Fleet Spectre StarStation ICV Necromancer Official BC3K Tester [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Long Live The Insurgency, Long Live Mother Earth, And Long Live Battlecruiser Developers and Fans!" 5. I'll do it for ya Blades! First, I must stand corrected. Orion is not the only offending party. I appologize Orion! Wraith, you are guilty as well. Take heed, I can't stall him much longer! Blades, email me with where you want those bases and I'll find a good place to locate them. We Fleet Commanders SHOULD work together/help one another when the chips are down and the clock is ticking! As always, I'll be impartial. I won't short change anyone! ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Spectre Fleet Spectre StarStation ICV Necromancer Official BC3K Tester [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Long Live The Insurgency, Long Live Mother Earth, And Long Live Battlecruiser Developers and Fans!"
  6. Done! Cmdr Miyamato, Heave to! Lay in a new course to SSF. Report to the Base Commander as his New Chief Security Officer! That should just about wrap that up! ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Spectre Fleet Spectre StarStation ICV Necromancer Official BC3K Tester [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Long Live The Insurgency, Long Live Mother Earth, And Long Live Battlecruiser Developers and Fans!"
  7. OK, I'm only going to say this ONE more time. All other Fleets seemed to catch my drift. Orion, when selecting Fleet Starbases, the SC wants to know EXACTLY where they are. You are authorized to go down to the planet in question, since you selected those planets, and find a Terran Military Zone there. Mark it's exact location (example: MZ-135) and put that info on your chart above the bases. If none are on those planets, find the closest ones. It's just that easy. Also, SC wants your .doc file redone. If you make the above changes and copy the entire page into word, it will have everything in one document. That's all he wants. One Document. Don't send attached jpg and gif files. No need for it if it's in one document. If you need my help, I'll gladly give it. What you have in the above link looks darned impressive. Just needs those final touches. ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Spectre Fleet Spectre StarStation ICV Necromancer Official BC3K Tester [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Long Live The Insurgency, Long Live Mother Earth, And Long Live Battlecruiser Developers and Fans!"
  8. Now you guys know why I told you to NOT pull that red lever until I got in there with Ya'! Complete, Htm Doc can be viewed at http://www.crosswinds.net/~insurgent1/InsFltCom.htm . Just checked it so I know it works. This will be the official location of this file. SC, I'll email this info to TacOps as well. ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Spectre Fleet Spectre StarStation ICV Necromancer Official BC3K Tester [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Long Live The Insurgency, Long Live Mother Earth, And Long Live Battlecruiser Developers and Fans!"
  9. Ladies and Gentlemen of this Great Community, Battlecruiser Family One and All, it is with the deepest regret and sympathy that I report the loss of one of our family. Many did not know him personally, but still he was FAMILY! His real and registered name was nearly identical, Daniel Moritz (Real) Daniel Allard (Registered). It has been reported to me that he was killed in an automobile accident approximately 2 months ago. Many of you will associate the Moritz name to Alexander Moritz. You would be correct. Daniel is Alexander's younger brother. Daniel was just barely 25 years old, and taken far to prematurely from this world. This accounts for TC McQueen's absence from this forum for the near past, understandably I might add. Alexander has suffered a devastating loss, as well as We in the BC Community. Please share with me in this moment of sorrow and please send messages of support out to Alexander (TC McQueen). Alexander, Earthcom, and We the BC Community have lost a good one. Think kindly when you speak his name. Nice touch SpcFx, I don't mind it at all! Appropriate IMHO! (SALUTE) ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Spectre Fleet Spectre StarStation ICV Necromancer Official BC3K Tester [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Long Live The Insurgency, Long Live Mother Earth, And Long Live Battlecruiser Developers and Fans!" 10. I'm not forgetting patrol zones guys. Please take the time to read the Insurgent Command Structure page that's at Insurgent One's website. We are Too Few at the moment to have masses of ships lying around at Starstations. In time, we will though! ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Spectre Fleet Spectre StarStation ICV Necromancer Official BC3K Tester [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Long Live The Insurgency, Long Live Mother Earth, And Long Live Battlecruiser Developers and Fans!"
  11. Well, Den, I had sent him out to find New America. I'll check the roster and, if Gummy1 has a full compliment, I'll transfer him to SSF. 13. I may be joining you soon guys, but what I believe he wants is for us to put that into html format and place it, via link, or integrate it into your Fleet Website. Due to the different timezones of the caretakers of the Insurgent Home Site, I've put it on Insurgent One's website at http://www.crosswinds.net/~insurgent1 . I just incorporated it there, so give it a look and tell me it it works ok. BTW, don't pull that red lever until I get there! ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Spectre Fleet Spectre StarStation ICV Necromancer Official BC3K Tester [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Long Live The Insurgency, Long Live Mother Earth, And Long Live Battlecruiser Developers and Fans!"
  14. Thanks Greg, I was winging it rather quickly on my way out the door. Good to know you guys look out for "Uncle Rattler". 15. Gentlemen, Please tell me EXACTLY what you ordered, what you received, and how you went about installing it. Maybe what you have received is a US patch for a UK ver 1.0, or vice versa. These things used to be important, but I'm not sure if the latest patch was universal or not. Please advise of your 1.0 version as well. Thanks, ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Spectre Fleet Spectre StarStation ICV Necromancer Official BC3K Tester [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Long Live The Insurgency, Long Live Mother Earth, And Long Live Battlecruiser Developers and Fans!"

  19. I'll defuse the situation, but maybe you and I need to discuss this matter further amongst ourselves. Insurgents, let this one die. It's not worth it. We have more important things to worry about. Take it as it was intended and just let it go to sleep. ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Spectre Fleet Spectre StarStation ICV Necromancer Official BC3K Tester [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Long Live The Insurgency, Long Live Mother Earth, And Long Live Battlecruiser Developers and Fans!" 20. As stated above, Yskonyn has been banned, PERMANENTLY! His crime of attempted theft, aka. asking for an illegal copy of the game has earned him permanent expulsion from this site and any 3000AD sponsored networks, being, he won't be playing online on any of the SC's networks either. This crime has also garnered him the distinction of being the first Insurgent to be drummed out of Insurgent Space. Please remove him from any Official documentation that we have. He may play BC games on his own, or on a server hosted by one of you guys but, If I hear of him playing anywhere wearing an ICV Tag on his BC, I'm NOT going to be a happy man. 'Nuff Said! ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Spectre Fleet Spectre StarStation ICV Necromancer Official BC3K Tester [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Long Live The Insurgency, Long Live Mother Earth, And Long Live Battlecruiser Developers and Fans!"

  22. [RP] Rattler was walking the corridors of Spectre Starstation, proudly showing her off to her new Boss, Cmdr Aramike, and his entourage of Cmdr's Antilles and Nightweb. Bringing up the rear was Sgt. Waynewright, Cpl. Burr, and Pvt's Johnson, O'Leary, and Kirkpatrick. The Station Paging System crackled for a moment and grew deathly silent. Inwardly Rattler cursed whomever had just activated that antiquated piece of monstrosity and swore under his breath. He was going to have someones "hams" for lunch when this tour was completed. Once again it crackled and Rattler overheard the conversation that was taking place in ComCentral. "I don't care what the message says you embicile! We don't have a Sgt. Raven Walters assigned to this station!" Rattler, and the rest of Spectre who had been on her those many months ago, froze in time! Rattler outwardly spoke, softly, just barely above a whisper. "My God, They're Coming!" "Time for us to prepare a welcoming committee!" 23. Ok, I'll try to keep this short and on target. I'm just trying to stay active here and will be switching characters soon if it's OK with you guys. I'll even try to drag in some fresh blood on this as we go! Human habitat of vile existance. He had ordered his battlecruiser in so close that he could see the faces of the Gammulan Invasion Troops passing by the observation decks, frantically seeking any human to destroy. Anger welled up in his soul and spilled over into his red eyes. "Cowards, you die not like soldiers but run like children at the first sign of possible trouble. No wonder it will be so easy to extinguish your life flames and erradicate you from this universe. Cowards, Where Are You?" The words had barely escaped his lips when Wraith Starstation errupted into a super nova! He was too close, much too close. The initial shockwaves destroyed his shields and most of his armor. More though, it had damaged his dampening fields within the Aestrom. The effects were devestating. All within the hull of the ship were immediatley exposed to forces of gravity not previously measured in time and space. Death to all hands was immediate and final. They were not subjected to the aftermath of the explosion. Gammulan bodies turned to jello could not witness the cracking of D'Immenents hull, her own explosion, and particles of Gammulan shrapnel made up of metal and flesh hurling into the atmosphere below. Most of it would never make it to the surface of Rinaal, only the largest pieces, mixed in with those that had survived Wraith's destruction. History would only witness these pieces as discarded debris. Other pieces would eventually find their way out into the debris fields in this system. One thing was certain and final. He would never see home again. It would be written that he died a glorious death, as a soldier should. The certain fact was that he had died a fool, allowing anger and frustration to cloud his judgement. He had failed himself, his ship, and most importantly, his crew. The universe would remember him as he was, not as his fellow warriors would portray him. Far below, On Rinaal, a solitary outpost occupant franticly coded a message of warning. When finished, he hit the transmit key. The message went out broadband so that all might hear, not caring who heard it in the immediate vicinity. The important thing was that it could not be blocked nor could it be traced to receivers across the galaxy. From those receivers it was collected, turned tight beam, and retransmitted to repeaters on every jump gate from Rinaal to Sygan. As the occupant was destroying the evidence he was interrupted by most unwelcommed visitors. Their method of knocking at his door was to level his shack with a barrage of Laser Pulses. The outpost had served it's purpose. It had done it's job. Rattler had just lost another Insurgent, but he had bought the most precious thing in this ever expanding universe. He had bought TIME! [/RP] [This message has been edited by Rattler (edited 03-07-2000).]
  24. Gentlemen, I'm still available to lend impartial assistance if needed. One thing to remember though. Whilst scrambling for that piece of prime realestate down on the surface, it must be a coordinated effort. Can't have a civil war over a Starbase. Or can we? ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Spectre Fleet Spectre StarStation ICV Necromancer Official BC3K Tester [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Long Live The Insurgency, Long Live Mother Earth, And Long Live Battlecruiser Developers and Fans!"
  25. The answer to that question lies strictly in the hands of your Starstation and Task Force Commanders. They move troops, I just order targets destroyed! ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Spectre Fleet Spectre StarStation ICV Necromancer Official BC3K Tester [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Long Live The Insurgency, Long Live Mother Earth, And Long Live Battlecruiser Developers and Fans!"
