(RP) Rattler had seen the unexpected withdrawall of a very familiar ship from the area. It had begun the engagement of a Gammulan Tarin, only to abort and head straight away to the jump gate. Rattler had intently scanned the Tarin for cargo. His eyes had seen the object of his search, and had sent a surgical strike group of marines over to retrieve that object. The Sgt. in command of that group had checked in after having a running firefight within the Tarin, reaching his ordered destination and tagging the device with a transponder. His last words spoken as a mortal Human were "Remainder of Team ALL Dead. Critically Wounded, No Way Home!" The Tarin had been unexpectedly shaken by violent internal explosions and it's integrity now indicated below 5%. The Sgt.'s Health factor had dropped to 23% and hovered there for less than a minute and suddenly dropped to ZERO! Rattler, and the Insurgency had just witnessed the complete destruction of a well trained Strike Group of Marines. Rattler would write the condolence letters personally for this group. Rattler: Is the transponder still pinging? Jester: Singing like a lark. Better now wait! Rattler: Lock Transporter and Transport! Jester: It's in our cargo hold already. I wasn't going to take any more chances. Additionally, I sent them a present to replace the one we took. We have 45 seconds to bugger out or someone won't be home for dinner! Rattler: Set a coarse for Spectre! Engage Hyper Drive on my mark. ......Mark! The Necromancer accelerated dramatically for a distance of 30000K and stopped dead in it's tracks. The Hyper Drive window opened up with an electrical brilliance that still amazed Rattler, even after all these years. Suddenly the Necromancer was gone. Gone, possessing the object that would prove vital in the years to come. Spectre had a new lease on life, paid dearly for with the loss of more Insurgent Blood. Commander, If we are leaving this area, I'd suggest we do it now. Wraith Fleet will be barking on our heels like a bunch of small dogs in about 20 minutes. Are you ready to rid yourself of this pack of scavengers, taking this fine crew with you to the Insurgency? If so, then take a course of Zero-Three-Four towards that jump gate. (RP) M Inent had heard the words of his leader and, for a brief moment, had believed that he would have to either kill Jarius or die himself in the attempt. With much relief he had heard the second Scousel drop and had internally breathed a sigh of relief. He was not sure that he was equal to the attempt, and was sure that the price would have been high. I've had some time to re-think my stance on this whole issue. Strange how time changes one's views. With the pending release of 3020, who really cares what character, or caste, or alliance you use here, unless you attempt to grab one that is already well known? To be restrictive in allowing posts is to defeat the whole purpose of this site. Changing Forum Names is also a moot point, as it will not actually clarify anything. The whole truth, and nothing but the truth, is that it is up to each member (all of us) here to govern ourselves, and to not bring disgrace to our characters or brothers. If we accomplish this, then the Website will most certainly flourish. If we manage to do otherwise, I'm sure that we won't be around long enough to see it's demise. One request though, if I might. Michael and Ron, All I was attempting to do was interject that, as with most things in life, Without Rules, there can be no structure. Being a retired career military member, I have no problem with operating within rules and structures. Some of our members out there have never had to experience this type of environment and, accordingly, kick and shout when someone gently slips that bit into their mouth. 'Tis my right to do so, and I strongly oppose your position here Michael. If we do it your way, we might as well scrap the Commander's Roster and start all over again. That's not a pretty thought. You are mixing RP with Overall Website issues here. Maybe you should re-think this issue. I'll be a good Commander and follow the orders given, but I think we make a big mistake here. The inclusion of additional casts, ie; Raiders, Traders, etc; are geared and aimed at BC3020AD. At least that's the way I understand it. We're trying to run before we've learned to crawl. At present time, I personally can only see UCV "Ship's Name Here" as a substitute for ECV, GCV, and ICV. I'm more confused now than I ever was! Seems that I'm trying to serve more than one master here, and I'm just not going to do it. All I want to know is: 1) Outside this RP Forum, Can a member sign in as Gammulan Raider? 2) Outside this RP Forum, Will there be reprocussions should a member chose any caste that he desires and start posting under that guise? 3) Am I just too dense to see the forest for the trees? I have yet to see the SC authorize any development of Gammulans, etc; and accordingly, no one should be infringing into those areas until he gives the all clear. All I have seen to date is his allowance for single entities to claim the UCV designation for their ships, leaving them to be non affiliated with those fleets already in existance. Somebody throw me a life line here! DarianShields, I see that this is the first post to the forums, so you probably don't know any better. Let me give you a little hint so that you might hang around long enough to appreciate this forum and learn to play the game. The SC isn't going to "let up a bit", and calling him a "Very big control freak" surely hasn't won yourself any favors. This site has been run in this manner since the SC invested his own money in HIS game, and continues operating this site so that you might come here with problems that you are having playing the game. Additionally, it's here for you to come in, make comments, suggestions, and even report real problems that you have seen within the game. Not many games out there have sites such as this, and None of them have the support that you shall enjoy from this site. This I guarantee! Now, Please do not let me find another post from yourself that borders upon disrespect here, or I'll ban you from the site MYSELF! All I was trying to get across, and not just to you but to everyone out there was that Those little tags that you see to the left, such as Moderator, Administrator, Member, etc... Really do mean something here. The longer you hang around, the more responsibility you should gain, and the more pride in this site you should experience. There are certainly some rules here, and always have been. Furthermore, they will always be here unless Derek removes them. When a Moderator, etc. tells you something here, one should pay attention to what he said. If he said "Quit using that designator," That's what he meant. It didn't mean "It's up to discussion whether you use it or not." But we are all succeptable to human error. It's the nature of the beast. Last time I checked, This was HIS Forum to moderate. That means, should the SC not agree with what he's said or done, He would have known about it in time to already have corrected it. He'd have also appologized to anyone that he had offended. I see no such appology, and I don't see his post edited by Derek, Myself, or Pandora. Pay close attention to these last three names while you are at it. These three, Myself included, have Administrator Athority on the entire site. If we see something that is not right, WE are charged with fixing it with whatever measures or means necessary to ensure that it is fixed and the integrity of this site is maintained.
