  1. What are you talking about? Leeching is my primary source of income!
  2. You think that's a lot? There's some people with 500+ posts who nearly got banned. quote: What I want is to figure out how to get my unopened copy of BC3000 to Florida to get it signed. Wow, I'd pay real money for an autographed box of BCM.
  3. quote: Oh I hate riding carriers. Hyperdrives are much too slow. I'd be happy to see all hyperdrive times cutted into half... but the chances that this might happen are next to null. Yeah, ditto. Urza plays a round round of solitaire on the bridge of the Weatherlight "Are we there yet?!" "No, it'll be another three hours at least!" Urza goes back to his game But this boils down to two things: play balance and lack of time compression. (so many people I spoke with were really turned off by that) Still, it would be nice if there was some form of time compression. If that happens, it won't be for a while. Anyway, I've applied the new patch, but I don't have the iridium or missiles to even attempt to attack a station. I've just been patroling around Sol and its neighbors shooting hostile crusiers out of the sky.
  4. Whoa, off-topic alert! Shame on you SC! Nice review, BTW. I noticed that virtually all the reviews I read mentioned the superb accuracy of scale. Even print reviews with such limited word counts.
  5. Are you sure it's fully installed? You need to give your engineers time to fully install it.
  6. quote: so do you guys think they've finnally broken the Star Trek games curse? Nah, it was Starfleet Command. Even better in my eyes, as I do play Starfleet Battles from time to time.
  7. Um, the poll only lasted seven hours? Some of us didn't get to vote...
  8. quote: Oh and a side comment : I preferred it when the name was under the avatar... yes I'm picky I was wondering why the forum seemed different... Yes, I too prefer the name under the avatar.
  9. Ow, sypathy pain! Glad that wasn't me
  10. quote: Millenium de Battlecruiser: an intelligent simulation of Derek. LOL! That's a good one!
  11. Very nice. I'll probably be one of the first to get it. I really liked the ability to give general orders, or do-it-yourself.
  12. Heh, I just came to this thread for the first time, didn't look at the times, and thought it was new news. Then I got to the part in the forum that said something like "the 1.0.04 patch was just released", and it finally dawned on me. Whatever happened to the CGW review anyway? I was looking forward to reading it, as they do pretty good reviews.
  13. Oh dear, my GeForce 2 is looking smaller by the day...
  14. I noticed it, too. At least it isn't as deserted as my Half-life board. (did I just see a tumbleweed go across the screen?) EDIT: Two posts on my HL board today?! I don't care if they're by the same person! [ 02-12-2002, 12:48: Message edited by: Urza ]
  15. It wouldn't do any good to ask what the prize is, would it? Didn't think so. Sadly, I've been rather busy lately, and I fear I won't have the time for such an endevour. quote:Originally posted by LordDavid: quote:Originally posted by Mrxknown: If I used the R.A.N.D.O.M. on a Gammulan planet would I still get a violation. You would get something much worse. The whole Gammulan Military will hunt you down and do a lot of painful things to you. LMAO! A worthy sacrifice. [ 02-09-2002, 02:10: Message edited by: Urza ]
  16. You know, the motivation for some these people cracking things is something like "I'm not paying $150 for an operating system!", but in actuality, they are the reason the prices are that high. (M$ doesn't carry all the blame, but having to buy multiple copies for multiple computers is a real pain in the arse) Kind of a catch-22.
  17. Sorry for going off topic, but I have a small clarification to make: Spawn means to be created at the start of a game. Respawn means to be resurrected after death. Two respawns technically means three lives, but since you said two lives, I unsterstand what you mean. Just FYI. As for the scenario, as the insurgents, I would try to get three interceptors: one would blast the ship, and the other two would cover him. The fourth person would cover the ship with a sniper rifle, in case someone tries to rescue the hostages. (hostages? I've been playing too much Counterstrike)
  18. My personal expectation for BCM multiplayer is to stage cooperative battles between fleets. I wouldn't do too much exploring, that's for single player. Also, possibly to mix careers and assets. For example, a group of PCs attacks a starbase and another group defends it. Both groups consist of infantry, armor (vehicles and whatnot), and air support. Or a massive starstation assault. In summary, a set of IA scenarios that have some other PCs in them. 100% possible EDIT: Sounds like an interesting scenario, SC. I do have a question: The description wasn't clear on how many lives you had. It first said you could spawn twice *after dying* (2 respawns + 1 initial spawn = 3 lives). It then said that you'd be in observer mode if you died twice (2 lives). Sorry if I'm being thick, but I don't think it was very clear. You die twice. You respawn twice. Thats two lives. And if you get killed 5 miles from base (you always re-spawn back at your base); and without an asset; you're in for a long walk back to where the conflict is. But thats configured by the script (as are all the other params e.g. scenario timer) [ 02-05-2002, 16:06: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  19. Ow, eyes hurting! I think you should get your shift key looked at. Even the location isn't capitalized!
  20. quote: ROFLMAO!! Just spit coke all over my keyboard, thanks SC!! I spilt coke on mine! Luckily, my new Memorex TS1000 is spillproof. I suppose the time had come for me to inadvertantly test that feature.
  21. Oh, didn't notice this one. Oh well, here I am.
  22. Well, this is all very nice. It's such a relief to finally put the collar on him/her/it. He was fighting a losing battle, anyways, attempting to sneak around your site unnoticed, stretching what is said completely around the axle, then posting his "findings" on VE. It was all just a matter of time. Oh, and a very nice upgrade. It was the first thing I noticed when I got here. One more question: Do the BC Cmdr's forums also have that kind of security? And if not, could it be implemented?
  23. quote: Just like the wait for the movie, now comes the wait for the DVD. Then after the DVD comes the offical waiting game for the second movie. How about another countdown?
  24. quote: the occassional free-for-all skirmish I'll be in quite a few of those... pending my invitation, that is.
  25. I'm in the same situation E5 is in, so I'll get XP Home as well.
