Ok I tried to stay I tried to stay out of this but this is really too much! THAT war was about human suffering? Why not trust the electorate and tell them that from the beginning? Also I have a laundry list of countries where people are being slaughtered by Despots(concindentally where there is little or no oil)why are we not going over there and promoting "Humanity"? I just wish that at some point some of the Fundamentalists in this country masqurading as conservatives could admit some bottom line truths about the blunders made in this campaign both diplomatically and militarily. It was clear to me why the quotes were listed without comment and it should have been clear to some of the really smart people on this forum. I guess it is easier to alienatee, belittle and question the patriotism of any who would disagree with your narrow views. Doesnt anyone find it strange that $ilk, a lifelong conservo is denigrated for changing his views while us so called liberals are chided for never changing ours? I hope that the new right has not becomes so monolithic that they cannot tolerate any dissenting views among thier own bretheren. Just once I would love to see one of you guys take the risk to admit a wrong, just once.

Okay the season finale was the biggest suprise and one of the best cliffhangers ever! I am just in disbelief regarding the direction the show has taken! I couldnt agree more. Numerical ratings are just one more stone in the dumbing down of America wall. For example, I dont think any BC game ever can be given a fair rating numerically.While BC3000.ad was flawed and that was complicated by my rudimentary at best computer skills, no game I ever played before captured my attention and imagination. the first time I planned and executed a campaign on land in the air and from space was mind boggling. If I had to depend on a simple numerical scale I would never hav chosen to play it. Second example was Advent Rising Game Informer's rating was 7.7/10 which is pretty pedestrian. I even had sales staff at Game Stop try to talk me out of buying it, based on scores alone, though none of them had played it. I loved the game despite its obvious flaws. Games have evolved to such a level of complexity that is stupid to even try to assign them a numerical score. X-Play assigns scores one 0-5 scale, but obvious dreck like Aquaman gets 2/5 and Fable gets 3/5. Huh? Is there that little difference between those two titles? or is there a tendency not to assign scores based on other factors? Truly, there is only one fair way to critique games, that is a narrative examination of the games merits (or lack thereof)with as little personal and corporate subjectivity as posible. Good riddance!

There is a chance that my wife will be accepting a big job in Maricopa(?) county in AZ and the whole family will be relocating from our ancestral home of Western PA. Anyone here from that area or who has been there care to share some information on that part of the country? You know weather, cost of living, entertainment, housing, cultural diverseness, especially school systems, and good (ie..somewhat affordable {$250K, diverse, safe) housing. Let me know if you have info.

ditto, I was underwhelmed by Hoffmans performance. I really went in expecting a virtuouso performance and got a gimmicky, creepy Rich Little-like impersonation disguised as a film. However I like Cathrine Keener in anything so it wasnt a total waste. I saw Hustle and Flow and thought it was a okay film and good performance by Terance Howard but that it paled in comparison to his work in Crash. i guess my point is Capote was an above average film and Hoffman was given the Oscar that should have went to someone else.

Lets wait and see. i seem to remember me posting about a certain Sci Fi remake (BSG) and dropping some spoilers regarding the script while it was in production. 95% of the responses to that post were extremely negative.Yet BSG is widely regarded by critics and good number of folks on our board, as a great show. Let wait and see!

It has been 10 years since our last visit and after we lost that one I was depressed for weeks. that depression was nothing compared to the elation i felt after our drubbing of the Denver Broncos 40,000 turned out for pep rally at Heinz field and this town has a serious case of Black and gold fever!
