Couldnt agree more! Just a superior show with great acting and terrific plots. I am just SO into this show. The SFX do a good job of accenting not overwhelming the story. I just dont see why more people are hype about this wonderful series.

Jeez SC!

I think Vince Vahgn is just a funny guy. I'm still quoting him from " Anchorman and Old School' Dude seems like he would be fun to hand out with.

No disrespect to our soldiers but the show is an artistic attempt to portray what it is like to be in a modern war. It is not a documentary. The term is poetic license! This is a quality show that is biting off a great deal to show a differeing point of view from what has been portrayed in the media. I have seen two episodes and I have seen heroic and cowardly acts. Anyone who thinks you can have one without the other is deluded. Enjoy the show for what it is, or turn the frickin channel!

Am i the only one that thought that stuff was just statingthe obvious? I came to some of those conclusions myself about my kid but was told by the pediatrician, and other experts that it was my imagination and fatherly pride. What a crock!

Well the missus, the artist formerly known as the evil one aka my daughter, and I just returned from our vacation. What a blast! We went to The Kalahari Resort, an African themed resort in of all places Ohio. It has an indoor SURFING! facillity, waterpark, arcade, four resturants, four boutiques/stores, a pizza place, a sushi bar and an indoor water based rollercoaster. Our suite had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, a large jacuzzi, 25 different movies to choose from, wireless keyboard for internet access to the TV, and for 4.95 a choice of games to be played on the tv for four hour periods of time. The wife and I havent had a real vacation since my five year old was born and after a very rough month at work we were loking forward to it with baited breath. My kid went nuts since most of the stuff was aimed at her including the worlds biggest Tree house called Treetop which was a huge play area full of slides, climbing areas, water cannons ,ball cannons, monkey bars etc. She also got to pose with a white tiger cub who is the mascot of the place. She also got to make and eat her own candy, design and paint and fire her own pottery. We wont even talk about the food, which my fat ass ate too much of. All in all I had a ball and still got my workouts in at the fitness center 3 out of the six days we were there I must admit it was hard to come back home, but we have already booked a return trip for the dead of winter. I recommend this place to anyone in the east or midwest looking for some family fun..Alos its good to be back among you guys, SC, Fox, Jag, Echo, Joel, $ilk I missed you but now Im back!

Fridays episode was great! I really enjoyed the premise, kinda reminded me of what I thought was the best Original BSG ep, when the Galatica was on fire. The robotic Cylons are very cool, I'd like to see more of them what do you guys think?

foretold is warned.

The best going away we could have for him was done in the ST:NG episode where he just rode off into the sunset in a shuttle. I'd like to think he is still out there somewhere.

I'm free next fall but they may have to let the costume out a little.

Jury Consulted Bible During Sentencing Phase
Kevin Trotter replied to John Prezioso's topic in Politics, Religion & Legal etc
Thanks for clearing that up. I wish more ppl understood that. If they did perhaps the honor and resposibility of being a jurist would induce more ppl to get involved rather than trying to figure out how to get out of it. -
SC you really think this show sucks? Man, you just never know about a guy! Re my avoiding the pols threads, all I do is get steamed reading Lost, Jag, and Marvin's posts and since that is an area where we clearly dont see Eye to Eye, I focus on the many things those guys and I do have in common..you know like the BC series and beer. Regarding BSG, it appears to be one of those shows ppl love or hate. I LOVE it!

Be gentle Jag, he's but a wee lad! -
I love this show....... Boyd feel free to talk as you see fit. I certainly do. Many of us here are vets as well and have many different points of view and opinions. All we have are opinions and you are certainly welcome to share yours. We keep the tone of this little patch of ground( The Arts) real light. If you like more caustic discourse I would suggest the politics threads, which I now avoid like the red death.

Dude maybe this aint the place for you..I mean a lot of us like the things you seem to hate so much. I think there is room for balance, I think the world , no matter how much you want it to be is not black and white good and evil etc.. it is an adult show which is why it is on at ten. If you dont like it; vote with your remote and find something more to your liking. I am one of the older folks in this community and I do agree that is here is a degradation of morals. However I refuse to blame art and pop culture. Self righteous, judgemental policticians and business leaders shrare the blame as do those of us who may act one way and speak a differenrt way. I would agree with you if this show was on Saturday morning, but it isnt. I am 45 years old, a child of divorce and for much of my childhood wondered what was wrong with me cause my family didnt look like the Brady's or any of those other shows that in many ways shaped how we judged ourselves. That ideal that was held up was amuch a fantasy as BSG and in a lot of wayys more damaging. A deeper look at that show would reveal to you how strong religion plays as a central theme. and how peopel struggle with their wordly dutiers versus thier spiritual duties. Starbuck disobeyed orders because of her beliefs. Lastly, if you dislike it that much TURN THE CHANNEL!

" It always stinks" Amen brother.. Fox, wait till you take that crapball home, if you thought last years sucked you will be suprised by this coded collection of overpriced mediocrity. SC sorry about the title..guess that was a little over the top?..

I have spent my last dollar on any EA game. After being underwhelmed with MOH Rising Sun, I foolishly went out and got the latest installment MOH:EA, easily one of the weakest sequels to a weak game ever. Some of the same issues that have plagued MOH games on the console are still present. Loooong missions with no save points to prevent having to play the 25 minute strech over and over again just to be shot by the unseen sniper, last gen graphics and stupid NPC's you have to keep alive. What a stinker! It is no coincidence that the Call of Duty team that left EA built a top notch PC and Console game and whoever stayed behind at EA didnt do it willingly. To make things worse I traded in Pariah, Road to Hill 30, and Second Sight to cover the cost of NCAA Football 2006, a truly awful piece of excrement that is easily the most infuriating game I have played this year. What is wrong with this game? why does every gamer mag out there give it high marks? questions, questions. First the game has no basis of football logic at all. I lost a game in which two running backs had over 150 yards and three td's each, had a 4-1 advantage in time of possession and did not turn the ball over. How did that happen? The other team scored everytime they got the ball. EVERYTIME! They threw two interceptions and on both my team fumbled the interception while returning it, right back to the other team. The team Notre Dame, converted three third and twenty plus yards and scored td's on all of them against a prevent defense! The reciver was 15 yards behind the nearest defender. Conversely everytime my reciever caught a pass he was tackled before running five yards. Even with a speed rating of 93. The new feature impact players create running backs who cannot be tackled by one guy. One ND back broke FOUR tackles in the backfield and ran 50 yards for a td. I bought this game remembering and hoping it would be as good as the 2004 version which I think was a better game, but realizing that I had again been rooked by the EA 800lb gorilla. I have no intention to buy that bloated piece of crap called Madden 2006 like the rest of the lemmings who will shell out 50 bucks for an expansion pack. I'll just keep playing ESPN 2005, trade in NCAA Shitfest 2006 and hope they havent sold my other games yet. [ 07-18-2005, 04:23 PM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

You make good points, but their is no country on Earth, except maybe Japan , that is as easily manipulated by media aka adevertising. I think the political issues you discussed would be tainted by this element of our culture. The fact that someone would WANT to market a product that tastes like something illegal tells me that consumerism will not allow an idea like decrimnalization to work in this country. In this case, it is greed not idelogy that interferes with pragmatism.

You are right Tecno-guy-whatever. This is certainly the best night for sci-fi in TV history. I enjoyed all the shows though Atlantis and Gallatica were really it for me. I thought Atlantis was particularly strong, but really enjoyed the subtlties of BSG such as the slow burning war between Cheif Tyrol and the incompetent LT planetside. The storyline about Col. Tigh is also top shelf. on the other hand I though SG1 did a poor job of bridging the gap between the old team and the new. Claudia Black and Ben Browder will amp things up for sure as the season goes on but the first ep... just okay
