If you read the WAYPOINT ORDERS.PDF file located in the DOCS folder, it tells you what each command does. If you use DEFEND, they will stay close to the target. If you use ESCORT, they will go after ANY threat (regardless of location, size, strength etc) that is targeting and/or attacking the unit they are escorting. ...and it all depends on the pilot AI. This subject has been extensively discussed here. Use the search function for words like: escort, pilots, defend etc and you'll find the threads.

Check the reg page. The online VCF has also been updated. You have to positively read the VCF before applying this patch. You have been warned. For those of you new to UC. You need to install the v2.00.00 patch first, before installing this patch on top of it. The MD5 hash file is also on the page. You can use a program such as WinMD5 to compare this hash against the file you downloaded. To check the download's MD5 hash, do the following: download the patch and extract the contents into the game install folder. Run winMD5 (or similar program) Go to File/Open MD5 file and load the patch MD5 file located in the game install folder. Go to File/Open File and load the patch file you downloaded above. If winMD5 reports the status as good, then your patch downloaded correctly and can be used to patch the game.

They also sold a bunch of other properties e.g. the Redneck Rampage license was sold to Vivendi I think.

You obviously don't have either installed because those two are the updates needed.

LMAO!!! And Dreada, this is Tac, I mean, Tac, that you're asking that question. I have absolutely NO idea where Tac gets half his stuff from, but I lets put it this way, in all the years he's been here, the one thing that remains in my mind is: He's nuts; pure and simple. -
Just came across this

...or you could just join a fleet. Your FL will then give you the server password. -

They are not open to the general public any longer. While they are online, if you didn't already know what the password was and didn't previously have access, you won't. We are not responsible for providing servers and I am only making these available for a while longer until the next game is released and to which they will be switched. -

Well, after Fox unceremoniously canned John Doe (played by Dominic Purcell), I clean forgot about it. But I always wondered what the heck he was about. Well, get this. I just got the October 1st issue of Entertainment Weekly and on p64, they have an article about TV cliff-hanger mysteries. There is an entry about John Doe; and it goes like this. When we left John Doe, he had just unmasked Digger as a member of the Phoenix, a group that was chasing JD. Well, apparently it wasn't Digger but instead a Phoenix member (aka Stocking Cap) after some plastic surgery. Turns out that Phoenix believed that JD was the Messiah and its members were actually protecting him from a second group, which wanted him dead. The truth: JD was injured in a boating accident. The mark on his chest is metal from the explosion. His Uberbrain is a by-product of transcending his body during a near-death experience, traveling to a spiritual place where all the universe's questions are answered, and returning.....naked! Apparently, his name is Fred. At least that's what Brandon Camp (one of the creators of the show), said. And this is exactly why I'm nervous about Lost, the new JJ Abrams show. What I read about John Doe is just ludicrous. I can't imagine how many seasons they could possibly have milked that stupid premise for. No wonder Fox canned it.

That issue has nothing to do with the debugger. You are getting an error message because you do not have the correct Indeo codec installed on your system. Yeah, its in the FAQ.

Not sure how this move - if true - helps.

Universal Combat - First Impressions
Supreme Cmdr replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Universal Combat Series
James, NO previous BC game had more bells and whistles than UC. None. Thats just a silly statement. The only features that were removed from the series, were removed back in 1999 after BC3K v2.0 was released and BCM went into development. Between BC3K and UC, you've skipped several generations (BC3K v2.0, BCM, BCM Gold, UC). The only two main features I removed (for a specific reason, and not because I like making more work for myself) in BCM (back in 1999) that I can even think of, are: eject sequence: This was removed because it was obsolete when you were able to have any craft of your choosing and when caring for your crew become more important. The whole idea of the eject sequence was merely so that you could get another ship. It served NO other purpose. asset switching: The ability to hot-switch to any asset was removed when the ability for your AE to control any asset - physically - was implemented. Again, this tied into responsibilities related to your AE and crew. No other BC game featured more bells and whistles than UC. None. No other BC game featured the ability to control more aspects of units and supplies. None. -
