This doesn't help at all. I didn't need you to play the game as I wanted a comparison of the folders to see why you were missing files. The 1.0 to 2.0 patch works fine. I tested it myself. As did others in the eight months that it was in testing. If files are missing or different, then it is probably related to the install and the patch not finding correct files for whatever reason. Anyway, if patching to 1.01.04 helps I guess that closes that. No such support ticket exists.

Ucce V2.0 From Digital River
Supreme Cmdr replied to kermit's topic in Battlecruiser / Universal Combat (Legacy)
There is nothing to open. They are not Mac files. They are standard Windows executable files. Go back to your DR order link and click on it run the program and download your product. -
Problem Attempting To Play All Aspect Warfare!
Supreme Cmdr replied to a topic in All Aspect Warfare
No such game version exists. And if you can't run the game, how do you know what version it is? The quickest to find out is go to your steamapps\common\all aspect warfare folder and post the size as well as the date/time stamp of the AAW.EXE file. You can obtain this information by right-click on the AAW.EXE file, go to Properties and wirte down the size (not the "Size on disk") displayed. e.g. Size : 3.79 MB (3,976,704 bytes) -

Supreme Cmdr replied to diegomcx's topic in Battlecruiser / Universal Combat (Legacy)
Of course not. The key is automatically injected into the program when you buy it. -
Excellent. Thats what I wanted to know. I'll try and catch it this weekend.

I was planning on seeing this after my Steam stint was completed, but I heard that it was too gory? Is that the case?

Both games are now available on Direct2Drive, Gamers Gate, Game Streamer, Steam etc

All Aspect Warfare on Out Of Eight My comments about the review (which I thought was well written and captured all the unique pros/cons of the game). The sandbox mode does not require objectives because thatÆs the whole "sandbox" point. You create your own objectives. e.g, if you want to go take on any enemy base - just show up and see what happens. The AI is in full force and effect. So you can decide to take out their barracks, base or whatever. Also, the bases are spread apart to prevent them from attacking each other automatically. Though I am considering doing something about that in a future DLC which would see all out war break out. But that would require bases to be placed within range (less than 75km from each other) of each other or all EAD assets be given long range (more than 75km) capabilities. Which means that as soon as you fire up the campaign, IA or sandbox, they'll all engage each other. Making the campaign and IA scenarios more complex. ThatÆs why I didn't do that in the first place since they all take place on the same 400 sq. km map. Voice acting. One word: budget. We actually had all the scripts ready for Somatone (the studio that did all the other audio sounds), but I cut that out at the last minute and asked them not to proceed once our potential publisher headed South and I had to tighten the purse strings. As to the bases, as I've said before, we have all the assets that we need for that but that task was just cut due to time and performance. Now that the game is out, we're going to look to populate the bases with more ambient assets. My guess is that people are still going to complain because it is going to tank the performance on some systems. So that DLC may end up being a "use at your own risk" kinda thing.

Ucce 2.0 Disk And Drm Questions
Supreme Cmdr replied to Magnnus's topic in Battlecruiser / Universal Combat (Legacy)
If you use the correct v2.0 patch for your v1.0 UCCE disc, the DRM will remain unaffected. -
You need to indicate what version you have, where you got it from, what patch you are using. But that looks like a bad install.

Ucce 2.0 Disk And Drm Questions
Supreme Cmdr replied to Magnnus's topic in Battlecruiser / Universal Combat (Legacy)
This again? Seriously? The boxed version of UCCE uses the SecuROM disc check only. As long as you have the disc, you're fine. No limited installs or anything. If you install 2.0 on top of this as an add-on, the disc check will no longer work. Thats why you have UCCE v2.0 as a stand-alone version as well. There no plans to release a disc version of UCCE v2.0. Want a disc? Burn it yourself. And the UCCE v2.0 stand-alone build does not use SecuROM. -
Its not escorting the target, it just has an internal escort order because it has a leader. e.g. A escorting B, then B gets attacked by C, A goes after C. Even though A is now attacking C, the original escort order is still in effect - hence the reason it is attacking. If C gets blown up, flees etc, A goes back to escorting B. If B is destroyed, A no longer has a leader to escort, so it becomes its own leader and goes into SAD (Search & Destroy) mode (the default orders).

As with the AOA shots, these shots are from the last few mins of the story mode campaign. I can't WAIT to see how you folks figure out the mission involving breaching that cruiser's comms system.
-
A must read. Just some of the folks we get to deal with online.
-
They're different but will be change again for later games. We didn't do any new work on the new space engine yet, so most of the fx are for the new planetary engine used in AAW/AOA.
-
The game is due out this week (its up tomorrow, but sites can release after that depending on their schedules) so I decided to take some shots specifically from AOA. These shots show the final battle in the 16 mission campaign (you can also play any of the missions individually, then go play them in sequence in the campaign). In this final battle, the Gammies decided enough was enough and sent a Sentry super cruiser down to the planet to wipe out whatever Terran forces were down there. Think of this as a boss battle. Those of you thinking you're going to just use missiles and laser shots to take this guy down, are in for a shock. HINT: Read ALL the incoming comms and check the comms logs (ALT+C) often to see if you missed anything. Also, take a close look at that Sentry carrier. Thats the level of quality coming to our next space combat games (KnightBlade and GCO) as that is one of the carrier assets from KnightBlade.

If its Vista compat, then obviously it should work on Win7. If it doesn't, you're on your own. NONE of our legacy games are supported in any OS that wasn't around when they were developed. That should be obvious. Which is what "Run in compatibility mode" is for.

The model didn't have the tags. Since that model originated from GCES-SE which does not have player controlled cap ships, that tag was not needed. Download this KB090808 update, extract into the game install folder, overwriting the pre-existing version when prompted. Let me know if that works. If it does I'll add to the online KB.

..because someone had to write it.
