Not sure what to make of it, but there it is.

quote: Originally posted by Jaguar: My apologies SC, I will not try to be helpful to another website again. No apologies between us man. Next time when I have a hunch about something, just follow my lead. While Mike may not be directly responsible for what happened, IMO he silently encouraged it. I am 100% liable for what people post on this board and so is he for his board. When I come to my board and I see an inappropriate thread/post, I delete it on sight because there is no democracy or freedom of speech going here where rules and regs are broken or liablity issues are in question. All they had to do was delete the thread, kill the avatar and ban (because he obviously created the alias to stir trouble) that moron. But no, it had to be another discussion and yet another controversy. Are those the kind of people we want injected into our community? I thought not. I am certain that they are not all the same, but I still question issues like this when I see it.

Fleets DB Online!
Supreme Cmdr replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in General Multiplayer Fleet Discussions
quote: Originally posted by Jaguar: Excellent, and the Gammulan fleet? What happened to the Gammulan fleet leaders? They have the required DB access to create fleets. So far I only see LordDavid in the DB. If you are a leader in the Gammulan heirarchy, you need to register then have LordDavid (or someone else with Level 4 access) increase your security level. Read this. -
This didn't take long...MS Longhorn Pirated

The next time you create a subject with a non-descriptive subject, it will be deleted. "This didn't take long" is not a valid subject. -
quote: Originally posted by Masefield: Sweet Jesus. I just read their debate defending "freedom." They just don't get it do they? No they don't. We're done with them and I've already sent Jaguar an email with my instructions. I guess only a blind chimp won't get the racial undertones of some twit attaching a monkey's head in place of mine.

What is the real difference between BCM & BCMG?
Supreme Cmdr replied to patman's topic in Battlecruiser Series
quote: Originally posted by patman: Thanks for the reply. Well done I read the description of BCM but I was hoping you could add a bit more detail to it. It mentioned, updates numerous improvements and upgrades as well as new unique features and enhancements with MP & new planets etc which is fine but I am looking for more. If you read my question again, it's asking if the graphics and crafts have been enhanced or is it essentially the same game with MP support. Did you just happen to miss the readme.rtf file located at the link above? -
Go register and await approval from the various fleet leaders.

GBS III to be released with Universal Combat
Supreme Cmdr replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Universal Combat
quote: Originally posted by Sean Mirrsen: I'm sorry, SC, but isn't your game title a 'Space Simulation'? Your point being what? If you want real distances, go play something like Orbiter. quote: will we have some godlike abilities to accelerate time?Only as a use-at-your-own-risk cheat. The same as in previous BC games. quote: Unless either this is fixed, or time lapse is added, the game will lose some gameplay value. Its not broken, so nothing needs to be fixed quote: Next question. Planetary terrain alterations, I suppose at least this is possible (the original Earth is supposed to be bombed out in this).Once again - perhaps what I said above wasn't clear - you cannot alter the world dataset. And yes, that includes the planetary terrain topology. quote: Also, any means to limit player's access to jump points? No. Again - they are part of the world dataset and that cannot be altered. quote: And one more question: maximum size of in-game objects? There isn't one -
How to order CC to egress using Tacops
Supreme Cmdr replied to q_dragon's topic in Universal Combat Series

Persistant Server - Player Saving
Supreme Cmdr replied to IceBladeTSW's topic in Universal Combat Series
quote: Originally posted by Twex: Can server state be saved while clients are connected? No. If the server state is being saved, all clients will be auto-disconnected and will have to re-connect. -
quote: Originally posted by Extinct_Reptilia: Oh no people, I'm sorry if I came off the wrong way. I was just simply amused at the fact that the same thing happen to me just a short while ago. Check SC's link there to see what I mean. Sorry that I offended you j90807... I meant no harm. heh, at least you haven't been told to siddown yet. Once you get told that, even once, you know you've arrived.

If they don't have a date, it auto-cancels the pre-orders. They are going to be getting a new ship date later this week, as I am expecting to go Gold next week.

Jaguar informs me that he is working it out with Mike (Sensei), so, no more opinions in this thread please. If and when it all gets sorted out, this thread will self-destruct. No, really, it will.

GBS III to be released with Universal Combat
Supreme Cmdr replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Universal Combat
quote: Originally posted by Sean Mirrsen: I need to mod the names, at least, as there's a kinda different universe there, although based on the currently existing (I mean, currently existing in real life). Also, satellites and stations - I need to mod these, too. Any access to the universe properties, at all? Also, heh - did you fix the "Moon is a few billion kilometers from Earth" thing? The Earth is not even visible from where the Moon is? Is the size realtion right this time? You can't change the name of the univere entities (e.g. region, moon, planet etc) because they are part of the world dataset. I am not going to release the tools needed to modify and/or create this dataset for a lot of reasons. Don't ask. Don't plead. Don't cuss. I never have and never will do it. Period. 3D world entities (stations etc) are not part of the world dataset. They are scripted. So, if you want to change the location of a station, you can. The world dataset consists only of the space/planet region data and jump anomalies only. Nothing else. This means that anything added to that dataset (e.g. stations, ships etc) has to be scripted - which GBS3 allows. But go messing around in the system scripts (i.e. change the default location of any assets (e.g. stations, ODS systems etc), you'll soon regret it. There are no realistic ranges in the game. So I didn't have to solve the distance from Earth to Moon problem. It was never a problem to begin with, since I never set out to recreate it realistically. quote: Originally posted by Extinct_Reptilia: I wish to change the properties of weapon effects. I want to make a better variety. I would like to see different types of turret laser colors for each ship and maybe change the main gun effects on heavy ships to something meatier. I figure you CAN change this, since you can change the textures for models. This is just my opinion though. Will GBSIII be able to do this? Yes or no and how? There you go again, with your ridiculously silly assumptions. Just because you can change the laser type/color, does not mean you can do this because you can change the textures of models. The two aren't even remotely connected. Don't you ever learn? Here's a tip. Before you post, READ the format and context of other posts (e.g. the one before yours), then, ponder a bit, think some more - find a priest (just to be sure), THEN post. -
