  1. quote: Originally posted by BuzzDee: Yes, its realy cool. BCM is nothing against that. But i wont say more now, i only say: see the movie! aw c'mon, tell us what you think Anyway, here are some more direct links for this first movie. I am going to be releasing four more, as soon as I can edit out the useless frames and get it all decoded. One other thing that delayed me yesterday is that I had captured the movies at 400x300 (I configured Fraps to do half of 800x600) and I couldn't get Media Maker to encode it at that resolution. It kept trying to do it a 640x480. Until I hit Google and found this awesome site for movie making. There I learned about the Windows Media Encoder which allows you to create profiles which Media Maker can use. There I was able to create a profile for that resolution. Anyway, the other upcoming movies take place in daylight and feature vehicles, naval units, aircraft and some more jungle combat (this time in daylight conditions). The new team based AI uses a hybrid of my NN which is used for space craft. This allows teams to co-ordinate, learn from you (if they are on escort), learn from their encounters, environments etc etc. It'll - literally - blow your mind to see what I've done this time around. Its not perfect (that takes time and several generations of updates), but its worlds from anything I've done before in the BC series. [ 11-22-2003, 11:28 AM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  2. btw, I uploaded one of the movies to the mirrors and it should appear online sometime tomorrow at the usual locations. It features 16mins of intense planetary combat (as previously described).
  3. This is quite good and I've been told that it actually works 100%!!!
  4. quote: Originally posted by Jaguar: I posted too!! LOL Yeah, but don't forget our standard rules: Don't play their game. They come and misbehave here, they get tossed. They do it elsewhere, its their problem; not ours. So, please temper your delivery and bear this in mind because it is so very easy to fall into that trap. Trust me, I should know. 6. Actually, two months ago, I suggested to DC that we split the demo into two or more parts (like I did with BCM); but they said no. Sure, I could have just gone ahead and done it anyway, but I opted not to. They want just one demo with everything in it. Go figure. Had we agreed on this, I would be releasing a space demo right about now.
  7. quote: Originally posted by Spindoktor: quote: You will also noticed me using the TOM (Team Orders Menu) to issue orders to not only my team, but also other marines deployed by the base I was stationed at. New 3-letter acronyms abound! WOHOOOO. hehe, you have NO idea how hard I tried to introduce a boatload more in UC; but unfortunately, I only came up with these new ones Team Orders Menu, TOM Priority List Viewer, PLV And Tacscan is now Tactical Radar Scanner (TRS), The CVD is now Visual Data Display (VDD) and the entire bridgeviewer/cockpit area is now the Integrated Tactical Display, ITD. Then you have inventory items such as Personal Supply Station, PSS Personal Shield Unit, PSU Personal Rocket Launcher, PRL And last but not least, you can now deploy waypoint markers using the TDU; these are called Waypoint Designator Units, WDU. quote: I play BCM on a 22" NEC Multisync so I'll probably ruin my eyes from the radiation. But at least my Megaron looks nice. LOL!!

  9. I have just finished editing one of the planetary combat movies. Let me put it mildly, if this movie blows you away, let me assure, thats *nuthin* compared to what is in the game. You will notice a TON of new features, the new engine capabilities etc. One thing that will astound you is the new team AI. I'm not even going to describe it. Watch the movie. You will also noticed me using the TOM (Team Orders Menu) to issue orders to not only my team, but also other marines deployed by the base I was stationed at. In this movie, I activated TOM via the DIE but it can be used in the fp view as well. The firefight in this movie is tame compared to others I've been in while testing. The movie will be released tomorrow morning at the usual places.

  11. quote: Originally posted by Delta1: I have some of the forums of the new features, and the game description, but other than engine overhauls and new graphics, it seems to be the same game. Rubbish. Not only did BCM Gold have a lot more features than BCM, to even say that UC is the same game as BCM is just braindead stupid. And the game is part of a series (look up the word in a dictionary when you find time), therefore, several aspects will be the same or similar. Now piss off and go post that crap over on the DC forums. You think we don't know that Delta1 and DeltaBravo (on DC forums) are the same person? The fact that you've posted the same rubbish more than once - and nobody replied - should be a clue I think.
  12. quote: Originally posted by ParasiteX: Will there be an tutorial. No, I don't have time. Go buy BCM Gold and start practicing. It has tutorials.

  14. All drivers have glitches; as a result, I don't have an opinion either way about either of those cards as it relates to the drivers.

  16. Just saw this over at Blues News quote: Just when it looked like the game formerly known as 'Imperium Galactica 3' would be lost in space, it is now back on track as one of the most eagerly awaited hits of 2004 thanks to a worldwide rights deal announced by Benelux's leading independent publisher HD Interactive of Amsterdam. Earliest views of the game have inspired such descriptions as 'visceral, futuristic and captivating' and 'absolutely gorgeous', and now the real-time mission-based tactical space game for PC has not only found a new publishing home with HD Interactive, but also a new focus with the title: 'Nexus'. Under development in Budapest by Mithis Games, Nexus is heading for a worldwide release in September 2004. "Nexus is a true gamers' game," said Mike Klumper, MD of HD Interactive. "I was amazed by what I saw of the early code of Nexus. I was blown away by it and we are extremely proud to add this beautiful title to our portfolio. Now it has joined our line-up, Nexus will receive the full attention it richly deserves. By working closely with Mithis, a talented and experienced developer, and giving total focus to the product, we will ensure that Nexus realises its maximum potential in each and every territory." Robert Sugar, CEO of Mithis, said, "Everybody at Mithis is extremely excited about this deal. With HD Interactive's focus, Nexus is in very good hands. "
  17. quote: Originally posted by DREADA: Derek, where on earth did you get Vanethian from?!! heh, Italy The guy is infectiously enthusiastic like you wouldn't *believe*. Its his first game project and man, did he do a kick-ass job. heh, you haven't heard *anything* and most of those tracks were cut short due to the movie length, but he did 14 tracks for the game, in addition to remastering my entire digital sound library, created a slew of all new fp weapon sounds etc etc. I swear, the first time you hear an SP911 being fired, you'll jump. No seriously, you will. And no, he wasn't cheap either quote: Just wondering, will there be any volumetric gaseous nebulae to fly through this time or shall we just wait and see?Sadly, thats one of the items that got cut from the game due to time constraints. I cut several things actually due to the added time required for this whole BCG to UC switch farce. But when you see the new features in action (e.g. the VTT radar mode, the TOM (Team Orders Menu which can be used in fp mode to send orders to troops, Rainbow6 style, the Priority List Viewer, PLV etc etc), you'll just, well, die. I will be featuring these in the ground combat movies I'm doing.
  18. heh, no worries. And yes, if your laptop keys are standard, it should work just fine.
  19. /me remembers why I luv amazon.com
  20. wot? Its been released already? And wasn't it supposed to be an MMO title?

  22. I released 51 shots yesterday. Some you've already seen in this forum; but now they're in a permanent location.
  23. quote: Originally posted by Terran Marine: The space battles were cool and the music rocked. Nice work DC. Nice work DC? Are you out of your mind? DC had NOTHING to do with ANY of this. They didn't even know about it until I had uploaded the movies and told them about it. As far as I'm concerned, they're not marketing the game (despite my having to extend my development because of this BCG to UC crap). Instead, they're busy marketing - yet another - "me too" shooter, Painkiller; which, incidentally, has slipped to next year. So, I've taken upon myself to resume marketing and promoting my game. ps: I see you've re-registered another alias after the previous one was banned. Please try to behave. Assuming of course you're the same person whose "marine" alias was banned last week. I don't have time to check the IPs. quote: Originally posted by Commander Elio Jason: your ship(GCV-Warmonger) didn't look like any ship i'd seen before except sometihng like the BC MK1. is that a new ship? Its a Megaron carrier quote: Originally posted by rtoolooze: Movies were great SC! The music was awesome as well, and had that classic BC feel to them. Wonderful! Yeah, Vanethian did a great job. Believe me, it wasn't easy matching the style I wanted - especially after Raven Audio's style in BCM/G; but Manuel did a truly kick-ass job. Then again, this should be no surprise, since I only hire professionals who know wtf they're doing.
  24. The E1 demo will not install on winXP; but the E2 demo will. Start by reading the information right there on the demo info file. *Topic Moved*
  25. quote: Originally posted by IceBladeTSW: SC: I'm glad the programs i listed helped. If you ever need my help with vids, or actually doing them (I'd be more than happy to) please just tell me. You didn't need to import into Windows Movie Maker, you could have used Windows Media Encoder, but whatever floats your boat. Downloading the vids as we speak. Yeah, VirtualDub turned out pretty good As for why I used WMM, had I not used it, I would have had to go through hoops (with VDub plugins) to put in the movie titles. In WMM its a snap to do.
