No. Once you've activated an area - it remains as such. NPCs don't go to sleep just because you don't happen to be there. [ 03-24-2002, 18:57: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

Thats such a load of crock. You must think I'm an idiot and don't know what gore is - as opposed to vampires catching on fire and disintegrating. Anyone else seen it and can attest to the fact that its gory and not just restricted to vampires catching on fire. I watch a LOT of movies. Like most people, I do NOT like gore in movies. Period. You can get the same effect by not being as graphic; but somehow, some movies just think it sells more. I mean, I even watched John Carpenter's Vampires (with James Woods) just fine. But hated the rubbish that was Ghosts Of Mars. [ 03-24-2002, 10:10: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

And over that, how can someone hold his breath 3 mins.. he's a military starship commander, not an olympic athlete... not even movie characters last that long. The commanders have a thin polymer headgear that is specially contoured to this head. Think of it as what would happen if you pulled Saran wrap over your head and pulled it tight. Only in this case, it is a super-duper kinda technology only found in the year 3000 and beyond. So expensive that only commanders have them. ..thats my story and am sticking to it. And while you're at it, repeat this three times and wash it down with two Aspirins : Its only a game.

He's probably running at 1024x768 and wondering why its slow when he goes and raises a ruckus. 10-20 Bugnors. Talk about abuse.

LMAO!! Now that oughta be worth watching. Black sheep of Disney indeed.

I used to live in Durham (in the Research Triangle Park area) back when I was consulting for IBM and spent a lot of time in Raleigh. That was a long, long time ago. I was OK. But then again, I rarely spent unnecessary time outdoors.

I thought it was absolute rubbish. They f!cking ruined it. If I even give it 1/10, it is only because Wesley is in it and because the stunts were brilliant. They ruined the damned movie with all that gore. I mean, seriously, wouldn't it have been better without it? Yes. Blade 1 was just fine. With this one, I left almost an hour into it; around the part where they assaulted the night club and just after Priest got killed. At that point, the movie still had about an hour to go (it is 1.57 mins long). And as I was walking out, there was a bunch of people doing the same and we all saying the same thing. They frigging ruined it. I went to the box office and got my damned money back and went home. Pissed. Then my neighbor (whose brother left with me), calls me up and said that it didn't get ANY better after we left and that the confrontation (toward the end) between Blade and the moron played by Ron Perlman, was a major downer; and that the fight everyone was looking forward to, ended up with one move from Wesley that ended about 30 secs into the confrontation. I hope it flops at the box office. That'll teach 'em to get it right the third time around.

....here we go again.

hehe, guess who many "...its ready when its ready; and right now it ain't ready" emails I sent back, each time they inquired as to whether I had finished with it.

quote: Originally posted by Unknown_Saint: quote: ok once again now that my sig is fixed, after launching 10-20 bugnors on planet earth i noticed it lagged horribly. normally i would get 15-20fps, now i get 2fps when i go to earth, or observe it through tacops. i tried disabling all the effects in options which didnt work, i also visited another planet, and it didnt lag at all. i have been playing about 3hours after this happened and it still lags, only earth, whats wrong? I noticed you are playing on a somewhat slower system, not to mention a laptop. I'd guess that's the problem. Earth has alot of bases and alot going on. I don't know the inner workings of the game, but I imagine after you launch 20 bugnors there is alot of AI repair work going on in those bases. Yep.

I will check my other system (both use the Intel chipset btw) again to see if the textures are flashing and get back to you. If they aren't, I'll let you know why control panel settings I am using. I can't get the intro movie to playe either - and ATI are aware of the problem. You can bypass it by using /n as the commandline parameter. Then again, you probably know this? I get a very, very slight texture flickering and only when I am flying NOE or running around in fp mode. Nothing major and the ground plane is no longer split as it used to be. Try some of the third party drivers (e.g. X3DFX) mentioned in the FAQ. To bypass the intro movie, use the /n parameter mentioned in *gasp* the FAQ. If the game crashes when you go into CONFIG, quite, delete the bcmconfig.ini file, update your drivers and install Windows Media Player 7 or higher and start again. ALL of this is described in the FAQ in excrutiatingly clear details. Which part of that text is unclear?

On my 8500 and 8500DV systems, I am currently running 6.13.10.6052 released on 3/10/2002 and have zero problems. In fact, unlike other games, turning on W-Buffer support in the driver control panel, works just fine because BCM makes full use of it.
-
Those problems went away almost three months ago and I never have to use ANY commandline parameters; especially on the 7500 or 8500 cards. Check the thread I just opened [ 03-22-2002, 07:47: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
