I hope that everybody VOTED today!
Supreme Cmdr replied to Steve Schacher's topic in General Chatter
I hate politics, so take this with a grain of salt. quote: Russia has recently created a new option for the "Don't Matter"'s and "Everone's an @@$"'s of the voting populace. Now in every ballot in the country a "None of the Above" mark is availabe. If "None" beats all the canidates, the parties have 3 months to put together another canidate, and the old ones are chucked. This seems quite democratic. People are now able to state thier dislike for everyone. Very nice. LOL!!! I like that! quote: Depending on how the Electoral Vote goes on Dec 18th, we just may get a chance to see this fubar in action. Last time was in 1876 I believe, The House of Perpetraitors elected Hayes as the president 56 hours before inauguration. He lost both the popular and electoral college elections. Well, I think they've already screwed up this election. So, come Dec 18th, it can only get worse if this farce continues. As I type this, CNN is reporting that in the recount, Bush leads Gore by 362 votes. But there was just a press conference by the Florida SOS (heh) in which they said that those numbers released by the media are unofficial and that until they are final and made official, Bush is still leading by 1794 as per the Nov 7th election. Like I said, it can only get worse from here. I hope Gore wins. -
My Challenge to all so-called BC3K Players
Supreme Cmdr replied to Gallion's topic in Battlecruiser Millennium
hehe, I look forward to playing a BCM version of it. I haven't seen the script (you should ALWAYS include ALL source in distributed files, whether you are finished or not) yet, but it sounds interesting. I suspect that a bunch of scenarios will start showing up once I clean up the GBS docs and add more notes to it, so maybe I will create a public FTP to upload/download GBS scripts. -
The Complete Idiot's Guide to GBS Scripting
Supreme Cmdr replied to Gallion's topic in Battlecruiser Millennium
Glad you got it working. I didn't check this thread yesterday, so I didn't see your intergalactic plea for help! Anyway, I have a BCM compatible version of GBS-I which I will release next week when the Beta ships. So, you can simply build your scripts and use them in BCM. Things to note though. .3DC files are no longer used for models. So where you have .3DC, change to .3D The ship names are different due to the use of longfilenames. So, where you have, say strlance.3d, you would have starlance.3d All the models are in the .MODELS folder so you can use the BCStudio tool to view them as well as match the name to a ship/station etc. You can device scripts for any career because each career uses its own files now. So, if you choose an EF Pilot career, any Commander career missions that are present, will not be displayed in Miscon. Any career you choose, lets you start from a launch base that is of your race/caste affiliation. So, you no longer have to script scenarios (eg Insurgent) who have to fight their way out of Earth because the default launch station is GHQ. Whatever script you have, remember that it will work fine, but depending on the career chosen, the player may miss some events if his launch base it too far (a player choses Terran/Military and launches from GHQ, when in fact the scenario mainly focuses in Omega Centauri) or if he chooses the wrong career (a player chooses an Elite Force Pilot career and stands no chance of even making it to Omega Centauri in a fighter). So, you should, in the .NFO file (a new file which describes the scenario to the player) tell the player what career and launch base the scenario was designed for. I think the product info on GCO is crystal clear. Besides, why on Earth would I cancel it? The Xbox title has no bearing on GCO whatsoever.
-
oh shit, now he's going to want that exclusive he was asking about, for his opening.
-
Don't look now, but one of my guys mentioned that he read in the Dec issue of CGW that multiplayer had been removed from Freelancer. Oh boy
-
hehe, cool pic Parias
-
OK, so where did you guys read that MS was going to buy Infogrames? And FWIW, I don't think MS will have a monopoly with XBox. They've got stiff competition from PSX2, Dreamcast and Dolphin (or whatever Nintendo is calling it these days)

The BC was not designed for planetary ops, so it does not have an altitude tape in the HUD. I have added this in BCM because going to the planet is the second way to die and I expect everyone to experience that at least once in their career. screen way too big, mouse erases screen
Supreme Cmdr replied to a topic in Battlecruiser 3000AD (Legacy)
Set your monitor refresh rate in Display Properties by setting your display to 640x480 16-Bit and then using the monitor controls to adjust the screen. Then go back to Display Properties and set your desktop back to the default resolution. Next time you start any app that runs in 640x480, the monitor should comply. Mouse trails are a common phenom with DOS games running under WIN9x. No way around it. -
You can also leave the planet by pressing O when above 45K feet. I guess you didn't see that in the manual either, Grabfoot?
-
..its ready when its ready; and right now, it ain't ready
-
LOL! Tac, I guess you miss us huh ol' buddy. hehe.
-
Oh God no!! erm good luck Cruis'!
-
I didn't start it, Parias did! btw, I also added a link to the CWM site in the UBB faq (top right corner of forum) [This message has been edited by Supreme Cmdr (edited 10-18-2000).]
-
I liked them so much, I started using them. So I decided to use the UBB hack to include them. Enjoy!

LOL!! Thats a hoot. Where is that posted? The last time I went to ATFW, the URL took me to the Barrysworld discussion forums.

quote: The real fix is even simpler: If the ships are in close proximity to each other, issue the RTB to each ship individually with a one second break between orders. Guaranteed no crashes then. I have no control over the behavior of the NPCs once, nor their flight dynamics. Even if I did, you can't just add a random number because there is no seed value to use. The distance from target at which a jumping entity emerges is dependent on the size of the target. eg a BC will stop closer to a jump gate than it would a planet. NPCs, like human players, have no idea whats on the other side of a hyperjump until they emerge. So, they can and will collide under these circumstance. Tyrn describes this perfectly. NPC colliding under normal circumstances are a completely different matter altogether. They are usually going too fast to engage an evasive profile. I plan on doing something about this at some point because I can still see it happening in BCM in some cases. -
heh, that article is taking quite a beating in the newsgroups actually and the general consensus is that its crap. I mean, where is Blood2, Trespasser, Ultima IX, every Wizardworks game ever released, not to mention over 100 games since 1996 that have flopped. Oh well.

I don't think a photo of young Palestinian boys with auto weapons is an indication of the violent nature of the Arabs. There are America kids running around with guns right here in the US. The fact is, violence begets violence and having been pretty much all over the world, including West African and Arab nations, I can say, first hand, that the typical Arab (hardly any exceptions) are inherently violent. Even the culture itself indicates this. eg where you lose a limb for some crimes etc btw, in case any of you were wondering. Go take a look at my online pic again on the History section of this site. Yes, I have Arabic roots from the Med through several ancestors down the bloodline. And before you go guessing, hehe, I'm not Palestinian or Israeli

That file was an unsupported file which I deleted from the server a long time ago. Nobody noticed because they already had it. I have updated the page and removed the link.

Thats not a bug. Its a bad command decision. -
quote: Probably has to do with all systems being at 100% and yet tacops shows the Falcon at 96% integrity The total integrity of the ship has nothing to do with the internal systems you see in Logistix. The 96% you are seeing is similar to what you see when viewing the TTD of an NPC craft.

Thats a cool idea Whisper. Anyway, the good thing about BCM is that you don't have to create new maps to do what you want. The parties just have to agree on specific rules, thats all. For some variations I have to put in server-side settings but I think thats pretty much it. After all, someone has to keep score and its not like you guys can be trusted to be fair Yep, marksmanship would be good too, we could paint a bullseye on SpacePhish. SpacePhish, have you taken your meds today?
