Both the European and Australian boxed versions are v2.08, which contains the MapPak. v2.09 was only available as a patch download. Also, even if someone with 2.08 or 2.09 accidentally applied the MapPak again, it won't break anything. It will just overwrite the maps and invalidate the saved games or current game, resulting in a crash if you try to play with said profiles.

ok, I uploaded the new map changes. Jason also sent me his first 3D representation of SOL and I've approved it for production. but that doesn't mean it will go into the game. Maybe as a later patch with access from Tacops. So don't go getting any bright ideas. Juan's new 2D maps, though, will replace those in Navitron.

Thanks, I've passed the info on to Juan to fix. Also, Jason is in the process of building a 3D version of the map. If it works out as I expect, I'll be able to have the 3D version from within Tacops and the 2D version from within Navitron. We'll see how it goes once I get Jason's first pass of SOL.

I haven't checked, but Juan informs me that he fixed the color coding yesterday, as part of the update I just uploaded. Did you check the new version yet? As for that Raider base, lets put it this way, Wraith is quite busy, in most of the recent engagements I've seen. I don't expect that to change either, in multiplayer. I sure hope you guys have good commanders.

Juan sent an update with the fixes that Eclipse pointed out, and I have re-uploaded a new set. Thanks Tyrn, I'll have him look into the color coding issues now. Please go over the map and compare to the BC3K. Apart from the new station and locations, if you see any inconsistencies, do let me know. I find nothing odd about the locations. For one thing, the Insurgents and Syrions are not hostile to each other. Wraith was built over there for specifically that purpose. Just ask Tac. The ATV, shuttle and interceptor can all dock at starbases. Only the shuttle and ATV can trade. If you are getting stores full message, its because you are trying to buy something that does not fit in your cargo bay.

I have uploaded the new maps from BCM on the main Fleets page. They are pretty huge though.

You need to make sure you flag them for recovery. To do this you have to select them, then press the transporter button. If the system has power and is functional, they will be beamed aboard. Check the tacops section of the manual for exact procedures. Tip: From the tacops command palette, freeze the AI processing and they will stop moving, allow you to select them. Once you've selected them, you can restore the update and then fire up the transporter.

Add /n parameter to the bc3k.bat or bc3k3dfx.bat file to bypass the intro. Or, you can disable it from CONFIG. As for crashing to desktop. The FAQ shows you how to change the shortcut so that when it does crash, the DOS box remains on the screen with the appropriate message. If it is crashing on startup, these are the only possibilties - all of which are covered in the FAQ. Improper installation. Used longfilenames in install folder name. Video card. Using the wrong shortcut. eg, using BC3K3DFX instead of BC3K while not owning a Voodoo card. Having a video card that does not support VESA 2.0 specs -or- using Sci-Tech Display Doctor when your card does support VESA 2.0 specs. Not running the Sound Setup program after install - or selecting improper sound config settings therein.

And you ladies had better not screw up that database or someone's getting court-martialed. hey, btw, on official servers, we'll be able to have court-martial hearings because when people dock at a station, they exist in that station and in real-time, while the game is going on outside. This means, hehe, if Parias (the most likely suspect) is up on charges, anyone docked at the station will be able to chat, in real-time, because it acts as the lobby area. My oh my, this is gonna be killer.

Am gonna go see it again. 'nuff said. Its penned by the same guy that did Usual Suspects. Even Benicio (one of the most under-rated actors) who was in Usual Suspects, is in it. Great acting, believable story and Ryan Phillipe is very good in it. James Caan, cool as ice and damn good. As for the gunfights, think about that bank shootout in HEAT.
