Charles, check your pm, I've left you a gift. Cruis. In my old avatar looked like this and my first version of this one looked like this . This new one definitly looks better. EDIT: Sorry for the big ole' avatar, didn't realize it was that big! Update on BCMG status, I should be getting it by the end of the month. Thank god.

How does this new one look guys? I've gotten rid of two legs of the upside-down red star, replaced the background with a shot of the ICV-Red Star, and put a little insurgent logo on the bottom triangle. P.S. I realize this is the roll call thread, but the only peoples' opinions I really care about concerning the avatar are you guys.

Insurgent plan for multiplayer games
weegee_101 replied to Charles Lindsey's topic in Insurgent Fleets
Raids, lets begin with simple ship to ship combat raids. We need to face the facts, there are a LOT more GALCOM and EarthCOM people out there, so we're gonna need to take it one step at a time. If we can start with raids on GALCOM ships and possibly sneak cloaked carriers into the system to take out ODS units, we should be able to take stations quickly and efficently. I have a guess we will need some good communication, but I think we can do it. It will be a glorious day when we free Earth from GALCOMs facist regime. -
Thanks for the feedback on my avatar. I like my design for it, but I can see what you mean about the red upside-down star. I think I'm gonna turn it orange, get rid of the green text, and put a space background (straight from BCM) in place of the yellow. I simply got tired of the old avatar, figured that I'd try this new design which I've had in my sketchbook for some time. As for the short on cash deal, I've got a job this next Wednesday as a fill in Tech Director at the theatre I work at. God I can't wait till school is out and I start full time as TD there. I'll finally have some cash.
-
I'm here in body, not in sprit. Money short, need cash, need BCMG. Wahh! EDIT: How do you like my new avatar? That is if it shows up. [ 05-01-2003, 05:11 PM: Message edited by: Cmdr. WeeGee ]

Is Borland even still popular anymore? Jesus, I haven't seen that used for years now. SC, have you used any of the Metrowerks compilers? I'm curious if they're any good, as I have yet to try them.

Ahh yes, I know this power. Numerous people have been banned from my Inf Server. Its fun!

This is disgraceful. Even while I'm not behind the government with this war, I think that this is just a disgrace to the American name. Hell, this is lower than france in my book. I say we tie 'em up and use 'em for target practice!

My father's always been a BC fan himself. I remember when we first bought the revised version, I lost all time I had to play doom to him sitting for hours on the computer. Its amazing to think of how much better its gotten, and I was a little too young to actually start getting a grip on how to play the game. Cheer's to BC, and may it have a long healthy life.

I love it what the DOD does with playing cards! Like those maps during the vietnam war, so cool. Thanks Jag!

Anyone remember Scott Ritter, that fool?

Jag, most Georgians are as bad, if not worse. I don't care that he can't speak worth a damn. Does anyone else here feel that threatening world peace and ticking off what allies we have is dumb? Am I the ONLY one here that feels that. If you haven't read the news, Bush is refusing to let the UN in on reconstruction, if you ask me, this is one of the worst moves he can make foreign policy wise. I HATE FRANCE, the last thing I want is them to really f*ck up the reconstruction, but ask yourself this, with the tax cuts, do we REALLY have the money to rebuild Iraq? We've already spent $20 billion so far. The pentagon is also projecting at least $2 billion more per month as well. Not to mention, the Bush administrations restricting the first contracts to American contractors makes the image world wide that we have our own personal agenda for Iraq, that we want it to grow our way, not the Iraqi peoples way. We've begun to piss British companies off as well. Hello! The British helped capture Iraq as well, they SHOULD be considered for the first contracts, but they arn't. We are sending the wrong message people, is there anyone else realizing this? P.S. Oh, and btw, Saddam was threatening peace in the middle eastern region of the world, it was only minorly threatening us. If we work on the homefront to keep terrorists out, they'll keep out, guaranteed. EDIT: Oh, and 'bout the "Iraq's not ready for democracy bit", look at all the other countries that we've installed democracies in other than Japan. Most are failing, if you look closely. Already problems are arising in Afghanistan. We've got to do this PRECISELY right, otherwise this one will do the same. Unfortuanately, (God I hate to say this) I think we need the UN to help us, some of the best diplomats (including Americans) in the world are there, they can help, but only if we allow them. -
quote:Originally posted by Silent_Gunner: And anyone who says that BCM is a bad game is just gaming illerterate Exactly, even that 77 that PCG gave BCM when it was released didn't amount to it not being a classic game. They just felt it didn't appeal to everyone and was too complex for the average gamer, and they have to count that when reviewing games. Someone there obviously grovels over the BC universe, they bring it up enough in the magazine. So what if we have to spend extra money on BCMG, anybody who likes the game doesn't really give a f***. I say we just shun these idiots like we usally do and ignore the rest of their crap. (Oh, and SC, sorry bout the use of "language", but I really felt it was the only appropriate way to put it. Other words didn't just express that kind of degree.)

quote: ...we may win some tactical battles... I've got to agree with you Lotharr, I think he is talking about the reconstruction. The key is in that quote above. We may have won the tactical war, but the political war is just beginning. Its already a given that democracy as we know it will not work in Iraq, so I'm gonna love to see what we install as a government and if it survives the next decade. Although, if he was talking about the actual war, he's dumber than Bush. Much dumber than Bush... -
Iraq information minister - a total riotous loon

He's too damn dumb to deserve to be arrested. If they do, they need to drag him into the streets and shoot him like a dog. This is just another example of how "the survivial of the fittest" doesn't work to well at this day and age. Now then, if it is just for humor (Which I really doubt) this guy deserves to be on Comedy Central Presents. He's one hell'uva good comedian. Even looks funny. -
Yea my PC's under minimum too. I've experienced no slowdowns however. Was able to get my sister out of the house for a few hours so I could shut down the network. Wow! MP is awesome. MUCH better than singleplay, bomb mode kicks ass.

I'm gonna laugh my ass off next time he says that and a sniper round enters his skull at 900 m/s. He'll deserve it. -
Well, if you play THunt on the "Traning(MP)" or "City Street Large(MP)" maps, it works just as well. Here try this for a good training challenge. Map: Training(MP) Mode: Hostage Rescue # of Tangos: 30 Team Members: 2 (Recommend Chavez and Raymond) Weapons: Unsilenced ARs ACTION PLANNING ONLY! NO MAKING A PRE-MISSION PLAN! Have fun. Oh, and when you get your rig on the 'net, they've just announced (Finally) that they're making a patch and It'll be out soon. Took them 2 weeks to say "Its us, we screwed up and didn't put code in to determine which adapter to use, sorry!". Grrrr, at least it'll finally come.
-
I'm here. It'll be a while before I can get BCMG, much less pay the cash to play on the official server. I should be able to join the fray by late June. I can't wait Look out Galpukes, Weegee's comin' for you!

Riiight, so I picked up Raven Shield last weekend. Great single-player game, good ole classic R6 right there. Wouldn't know about the multiplayer game, ubi's cd key code works so well it won't allow you to play if you have a LAN or a PPPoE net connection. Whats even greater is that you have to deactivate TCP/IP on your LAN if you have one just to play online... which renders many LAN connections useless. Best yet, everyone's favorite Ubi Techie JJ won't confess that its a problem with the game, he keeps posting the same old "Deactivate any chance that the other computers on your lan have of getting online" fix. *Sigh* You would think that Ubisoft would learn... Thank god you have a brain SC. Please promise you'll always shun companies like Ubi with us.

Wow Jag! We agree on something for once. While homesite is nice, its not really worth the money to buy the full version. If you want a good code only HTML editor I'd suggest going with UltraEdit. Besides being a POWERFUL programming tool/text editor, it allows you to make libraries of code languages and such, and you're certain to find some online for most internet languages. Plus, its quite a bit cheaper than homesite. I do have a question for you Jag. Any new features that are worth the money for Homesite 5?

If you can afford to spend the money Dreamweaver MX. IMO it is MUCH more powerful than the latest Frontpage and its got some advantages that most enjoy. These include seemless integration with flash and coldfusion (and fireworks if you like it) and clean code from the start, so you don't have to go deleting the "bloat" that Frontpage makes. I prefer Dreamweaver myself, but the choice is up to you. http://www.macromedia.com

I'm alive and well! Been spending too much free time writing a fictional story based off of the BC Universe than to read the forums.

Oh my god. Hellbinder, do you actually believe that's why we're going to war? Have you not been paying attention, or has all the Bush Administration Propaganda clouded your mind. This war is about oil and broken UN Sanctions. And its more about oil than anything else. Besides, we've got our own problems here that we need to fix before we go prancing around the globe fixing things. Yes, we were attacked, but not by Saddam. Granted, Saddam is terrible to his people, but all regimes like that fall on their own accord sometime. The only just reason we have for going to war, and its not morally just at all, is for oil. Thats the same reason why we drove the Iraqi's out of Kuwait in the early 90's. Kuwait has a shitload of oil, we wanted to keep it, so we went to war. Please, read up on your literature and current events before posting such posts as that. Oh, and for the record, Bush is driving us into a situation that could result in the highest amount of deficit ever. Now, defend Bush on that. At any rate,

(I'm going to shoot myself for this, but I'm sure many people in this forum know about it.) Go to http://www.pricewatch.com Kalshion, AND don't tell anyone else about this, I'm dumb enough to tell you. It's referred to as "the internets best kept secret" and if people start to know about it prices will go up!

quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: I haven't received my PCG issue yet. So, what does it say? What is the spread like? etc etc Your a lucky man SC. It was one of the games featured in their "2003 PC Gamer Review Blowout". What makes you so lucky compared to most of the other games is, THEY GAVE YOU A LARGER BOX THAN MOST OF THEM!!!(Other games that got large boxes include Black & White 2, Counter Strike: Condition Zero, and other games they constantly talk about) W00t, someone is looking forward to your new game. Here, I'll post what they said too. quote:Previously intended as an addon for Battlecruiser Millienium, Generations is now a stand-alone game, making it the fourth in the tumultous Battlecruiser series. The graphics engine has been overhauled (in fact you'll need at least a PIII 1GHz system to play BG) and the game boasts more advanced AI, better multiplayer support, and loads of new and updated features that are sure to have fans of the franchise begging for more. Beginning where Millienium left off, Generations will also be the spacesim appetizer that comes before the currently-in-development Battlecruiser Online. All I've got to say is, where does BCM leave off??? I haven't reached a dead end yet... Oh and Elio, after about 3 years of subscriptions (I signed up when the first issue came out) I started receiving it before it got to most other people. Hell, currently I'm probably one of their best customers with 6 years of subscriptions remaining.
