What would you like to see in the next BC ?
Raven replied to delevero's topic in Battlecruiser Series
LMAO I think you forgot one darling -
Yea, go down to the bank and you can get your own quarters a lot cheaper without paying shipping. Anyone want to buy a balloon full of air?

You have no sense of adventure darling

Oh dear, this is disgusting people, relax. Menchise is totally correct (at least on this issue), hissing and spitting at each other like a pair of angry cats isn't getting us anywhere. Romale, I don't know what to say, I'm offended to even agree with you in part, your flagrant use of frankly repulsive insults is, well, frankly repulsive. Serondal, the same goes for you (if not quite to the same degree), I know Jaguar can be a little on the abrasive side at times (ok make that really abrasive at times) but that's no excuse to get even more repugnant, I feel like I've run across a thread on a different forum, no one here behaves like you are. And Jaguar, tone it down a little, you're supposed to be a moderator after all, so I don't think it would be to much to ask you to moderate yourself a bit. Oh bother, I don't care, but if you're going to insult each other like this you might as well you Creative And Highly Amusing Insults so as the rest of use can enjoy reading it, this current blend of verbal (textual?) upchuck is corroding my eyes.

Yes, well I resolve to continue my resolution from last year, which is to say that I resolve to do as I please, striving to speak (and even more so to type) in a manner that is both technically correct and convoluted, to be even more irritable and capricious, to take strong stances on topics I know less about, and to generally behave in a manner coinciding with a concept of civilized behavior that only superficially resembles others ideas of civilized and includes blatant disregard for fact while ranting at uncivilized persons who criticize this most sacred (and perpetually dynamic) code. I resolve to be both officious and impertinent, and yet never to take myself to seriously, and thus to affect an air if irreverence and smug superiority while behaving in a manner that is most condescending and irksome to those around me, and to derive pleasure from the vexation that my whimsical behavior produces in others. I resolve to laugh louder, to cackle, and to cultivate a sense of humor this is both obscure and opaque, making sense only to those few that I deign to explain myself to, thus taking pleasure both in mystifying those around me and in proving my own intellectual superiority while convulsing with convoluted humor at the same time. I resolve to eschew and consider repugnant such labors as others consider an aspect of everyday existence, to preserve my appearance though strict abstinence from unseemly manual activities that put undo strain on my epidermis and thus cause unsightly tearing or calluses (such as cutting bread) while affecting open disgust for people who, either through choose, manipulative incompetence, or the lowness of there birth, find the need to have rough or dirty hands or skin that is anything short of fair, be they male or female. I resolve to maintain my dignity by wearing impractical and expensive clothing that is unsuited to the occasion, whatever it may be, and to thereby perpetually overdress and thus demonstrated my marked superiority in clothing and choice of cosmetics, all the while being extraordinarily vain and generally decrying other uncouth individuals who feel that plaid shirts are suitable attire for even the most degrading of manual labor, not to mention social gatherings of any sort and to continue the Greek tradition of reviling all things that are ugly while considering those persons possessed of beauty and elegance to be supreme, placing myself above all others by arbitrarily defining my appearance as the epitome of beauty by which all lesser beings are measured. In other words I resolve to continue being myself, only even worse then I was last year.

I do not feel the need to enter this debate, the topic is not such a one as concerns me, but I would like to comment that political scientists only consider five countries to be true democracies. This is, needless to say, a rather small number. I do not remember all of which countries are listed, but this is beside the point anyway. Democracy requires a population that believes in the precepts of democracy and thus strives to effect it, or at least to maintain it once it has been effected by an outside force. In a population that is accustomed to subservience and strict control democracy will have a hard time taking root. It's not impossible, but it is very unlikely.

While I originally considered BCM MP a good idea, having read your arguments for not implementing it I find myself swayed. I have been, quite frankly, amazed that you have continued improving (not just fixing bugs) BCM as long as you have, you have a rare level of dedication to the game, your fan base, or (as I'm inclined to believe) both. While BCM is definitely a good game and worthy of support, the time has come to move on to the next game. And while I must admit that some people will be vexed by the lack of multiplayer, I would venture that this is most likely because you said that it would be included rather then because they cannot afford BMG:G.

Bah! Saddam (or terrorists for that matter) isn't going to target naval bases; he's going to target centers of government and economy. Wallstreet, capital hill, etc. Any terrorist government that launches nukes at us is going to know they can't win in an extended war no matter how many naval bases they take out, and nukes are real expensive. Even if they have enough missiles to cripple our military, we'll blow them off the face of the planet. No, there only chance as I can see it would be to try to throw our government into turmoil and threaten to launch more missiles unless certain terms are met. I doubt it would work, but it's got more of a chance then anything else.
-
It's about time. I don't really care if Saddam has WMDs, that's hardly the only reason for attacking, more of an excuse really, so I don't see the problem.

Low-Income Taxpayers: New Meat for the Right
Raven replied to DraconisRex's topic in General Chatter
Ok darling, I've heard about how evil capitalism and elitism are, about all the horrible things done to the working class who are defenseless against it, and about how the media is supporting this. Great, so, assuming that your beliefs are correct, what do we do about it? As in do, rather then just complain about economic injustice (whatever that means) and such not. Socialism doesn't work, that's self evident if you're paying attention. Socialist methods of achieving your ideals are inherently flawed, they bring ruin to the economy that supports them, and if there are too many social programs they will bring the economy into a collapse. Whenever you start talking about whatever it is you're talking about (you never seam to suggest anything, rather you assure us that the people will figure out what is happening one day and somehow correct it) Jaguar brings up all the problems socialism causes. And what do you do? I don't know, but I don't recall ever seeing you respond. So my question for you, my challenge if you will, is to suggest something that would work. Not that would be nice if it did work, not that is theoretically possible, but something that would actually work. -
Merry kiss me as... um... I mean merry Christmas to all now you're all going to d... no, that's not right either. Oh bother, enjoy the holiday season and remember to exorcise the Christmas spirit

Gammulans stick together, its called unity. Independents like Valdemar may not be part of our fleets, but they're still Gammulans, and that's what counts. Besides, who would want to keep company with a bunch of savage humans who find the consumption of sentient aliens appealing?
-
LMAO And don't forget to leave a few coals in the fireplace
-
Nonsense, there would just be a bigger market for bullshit books.
-
LMAO! Yep, SC is the ultimate master of bug-free code, honest, he could sure teach those people at Microsoft a thing about bugs...

Do forget the chicken revolution.

Well darling, I have a good idea of how this turned into a constitutional debate. Jaguar was involved and the constitution somehow came up. That pretty much always ends in a constitutional debate.
-
Well, my main ship is the Dragon's Daughter (no relation what so ever to Wody's). I also have the Goddess Fire and the Black Revenge. The names are fun, original, and have a nice mythological air to them.
-
Bah! Nonsense. Fendi, uncut is exotic and therefore sexy, sorry, it's the truth. Enderlin, worrying about making your kid is normal is the worst thing you can do. Look out the window sometime, observe all the miserable boring normal people out there, and decide if being normal is all that great.
-
Yep, DirectX 9 is out, a little late and with some questions, but its here.
-
Apparently correct, paper money does seam to be unconstitutional.
-
Well darling, that's peachy, but see if this makes any sense to you: The states don't make our currency a tender for payment of debts, the federal government does that. As in those blokes in Washington. You know, the FEDERAL government.
-
Well yes, I imagine you will be expecting to come to Gammula with me, or at least your head will. On the other hand, if your career as a commander doesn't pan out you probably shouldn't become a clairvoyant, you just don't seem to have very good accuracy.
-
How about we change the emphasis here and see if it makes a little better sense. quote: No state shall enter into any treaty, alliance, or confederation; grant letters of marque and reprisal; coin money; emit bills of credit; make anything but gold and silver coin a tender in payment of debts; pass any bill of attainder, ex post facto law, or law impairing the obligation of contracts, or grant any title of nobility. I don't see any states printing paper money, do you?

New Scientist did a lovely little Christmas competition, please notice that it's men who are primarily being made fun of here
