Help with campaign mission...
AllenKG2001 replied to Fractux's topic in Battlecruiser 3000AD (Legacy)
There is an easier way. Just let the shuttle get to where it's going and you just follow behind. Most stations and castes do not attack diplomats anyway. When I played this campaign, that's what I done and no-one attacked the shuttle. It got there, landed and I secured the area, mission complete. -
Is there any reason to attack planetary assets?
AllenKG2001 replied to Romale's topic in Battlecruiser 3000AD (Legacy)
Have you ever tried to fly around on Jupiter? It's good fun and the lightning effects are good. If you survive and leave the planet though you'll have some major repairs to do I sometimes use resnig to fly a shuttle to collect cargo pods while there's still a big battle going on. The only thing is, he sometimes survives! -

I agree. BCM is a game you enjoy and can play forever. I played one of the ACM's once but never again. I enjoy ROAM too much. The thing to do is to give yourself assignments to complete. That's what I do, if I see a Gammulan I follow it half way across the galaxy if I have to just to destroy it and collect it's cargo. Give myself leave and head down to a new planet to enjoy the vista in me shuttle craft. Jump into a fighter craft and attack a starstation for fun. God there's so much to do! -

Night at the Movies- Die Another Day
AllenKG2001 replied to Commander Elio Jason's topic in The Arts
I think the next James Bond actor sould be our leader, Tony Blair! Dot Cotton (from eastenders) will be miss Moneypeney and Sid Vicious (RIP, Sexpistols) as M. -
I think the only change that should be made would be to decrease the damage rating of all shots. Only to help make fights longer which I will agree can sometimes be a little short. I find starstations though very easy to destroy even without cloaking and in a fighter craft. I do think the fact that fighters are able to destroy spacestations as easy as I've managed questionable mind you. It is a matter of getting the right balance and a matter I'm sure SC is aware of. The problem is, different people are at different levels so finding the right balance hard. I'm confident that when MP is ready these matters will probably be resolved in some way or other.

At the end of the day it's up to you. All ships have their strong and weak points. You just have to find one that suits the way you play. I enjoy combat so fly a carrier. The best thing to do is check the appendix and look at the stats of all the ships and see which one weighs out in your favour.

Carriers have fighter support, cruisers don't. Edit: Plus carriers can have all upgrades! [ 11-16-2002, 04:33 PM: Message edited by: LBM ]

I Need a Hemo: Who was your favorite Superhero?
AllenKG2001 replied to Kevin Trotter's topic in General Chatter
Yeah, I remember at primary school me and me mate were Superman and the Hulk having a "Battle". We both got sent to the head master and had to write lines coz they thought we were fighting. We just thought it was funny so done again the next day (and sent down the office again, lol) -
Yeah, we also hired some Fembots as well. Their in Alpha bar. [ 11-14-2002, 05:58 PM: Message edited by: LBM ]

I've been out of the loop for a while...
AllenKG2001 replied to Commander ZIX's topic in Battlecruiser Series
I stand corrected. Guess I had the whole BCM gold thing wrong! Anyway I'll prob just wait for BCG myself. -

You'll be about as far behind as the snail stuck to the back of a lorry going down the motorway. Once you've bought it, just use the update patches to bring it up to date. It's up to you though coz BCM gold will be out soon, although existing BCM owners get a discount (I think). -
All good things come to those who wait my friend. The one feature I am most looking forward to in BCG (appart from MP) is the "Message board" type thing, so when you dock say at a station you can read these boards which will contain adds requesting different things. So say you where an assassin, you would look for rewards for desposing of certain ships or NCPs. This is like a feature from Elite and I use to love that game until BC3000ad came out. I hope SC still decides to put this feature in.

From the VCF RC20: quote: The probe had two extra zeros in its max speed rating. These have been removed, making its max speed 15000 m/s

Does that geezer not have a life or what! I've read alot about him before somewhere where he's been out for you. I mean, you either love the game or you don't. There is actually a web site dedicated to slating you(SC) which I find funny coz someone actually bothered to do it (WHY?). It's like me writing a web page dedicated to slating one off me ex girlfriends coz she was totally mad, but I wouldn't bother coz no-one else is interested plus, I just wouldn't bother.

Are we having a November Roll call?

The only Japanese I know is prenonced in English as "Gang ne!", which means "F*** you!"! In reply to Grayfox, yep, napalm death and cannible corpse rule! I remember me first speed/thrash metal I listened to was Sepultura-Arise! Me fav band though is Tool. Who remembers the theme tune to the first settlers game with the cheesy animation? That was fun to listen to. The most anoying but funny game tune has got to be the one from the Real Internet Simulator!

What speed/death metal you into GrayFox? For some reason I've been listening to my old Strapping Young Lad CD's recently. They rock!

Try completly un-installing the game (un-install and then delete the 3000ad folder) then re-install, add patch 1.0.08 RC23 then RC24. See if that helps. What M/B do you have and do you have the most up to date drivers for it? Also, coz your're running an NT system, try making a batch file with the line, "echo off start /high bcm.exe" Use this to start the game. If you don't know how to make a batch file-open Notepad, type the above lines and save as "BCM.bat". Change the shortcut to point to this file.

At the moment my brother is recording some tracks he's composed which I will be using in BCM. Very space clasical music and sounds amazing. He'll be doing scores for planetry, combat and just flying about music. They really are great to listen to and currently these are my favourite. This is what my brother hopes to get into is composing music and I think the way he's going, he is well on the way.

Not to sure on this one, couldn't find anything that tells me otherwise but it's to do with sending troops down to surface in enermy bases. I've noticed that after destroying all their defences I never gained any EP's. I thought I may have a bad install so re-installed game, patched and done it all again but the same thing! I then sent my AE down and shot something and only then did I gain EP's. This was in patch RC23 but tried it in 1.0.07 with same results. Is this right coz I know that when your fighters shot something you gain EP's so why not when your marines shot something?
