  1. quote: Do you only gain experience points when doing the campaigns or can you also gain experience in free roam? Yes, you do gain EPs in roam mode. Check the manual appendix for specifics. I would also highly recommend you add your system profile properly. Here is how to do it. [ 05-12-2003, 01:12 PM: Message edited by: Spindoktor ]
  2. quote: Is there anything we can do to help? Yeah... Siddown!!
  3. quote: I hate spammers (looks at Raiders two replys, notices that Raider could have put the second replys text in the first) Well you guys are in the same state. Go beat the crap out of him.
  4. quote: OMG, that looks wicked. Could give WoW a run for its money. Not to mention Everquest 2, although I'll bet they target the elusive casual subscription based MMO player. Based on briefly surfing the screenies, it looks like they have some top notched artists on the project, surely handpicked by Tolkien Enterprises.
  5. Talking about the screenshots in the IGN screenshot thread got me thinking... quote: Nice! I'm thinkin' that Lumber and Wood products could be lucritive! Wouldn't it be cool if you could develop a strategy, trying to become an economic power like, for example, OPEC. If you can gain military control of the forests on some planet where its plentiful. And perhaps because of this, you control a high percentage of the galaxies' lumber production... Ok ok, I suppose lumber is a bad example in the year 3010. But anyway, this would afford you the opportunity to control prices. And then, of course, this would now make these areas highly desirable for attack by the AI (or other players?? MP?). I know BC is more about combat, but this could raise the stakes in the battle over controlling real estate/mission zones.
  6. I have to say, when I saw those planet shots, my jaw dropped. Looks like it might even make my 9800 Pro break a sweat. Major props on the graphical work for a game thats all about gameplay.
  7. WOW, I really like that "more blue" shot, just like my women.
  8. quote: Cool, where does one download it? There is a link to it right in the VCF. Right before the "multiplay" section. Or you could click here
  9. quote: How do I type "-x0" before the command line peramiter in the short cut. To disable some.... sound...thing. Your shortcut should look something like this: "C:Program FilesDreamCatcher3000ADBattlecruiser Millennium Goldbcm.exe" -x0
  10. quote: Resnig is French? LOL! Reminds me of something I saw recently, can't remember where, maybe ebay. For sale: One French rifle. Never been fired, laid down once.
  11. LOL at this 'puter
  12. quote: how do I get it for the SIG to portray it? Read this SC post. Aside -> If a noob answers noob questions, does he eventually graduate to something like, I dunno... Super noob?
  13. quote: I did find the no-disc crack and the game does start but it appears that there is no multi-player selection in the main menu. You should read this.
  14. VLAD my man.. You got issues. Check in with the medical officer on your next trip to space. You are freaking me out.
  15. My thoughts exactly on what Banquet said. Everyone would be a lot better off if they had thicker skin but it would be a non-issue if they kept personal agenda out of the discussion. Keeping a tight reign on the board is SC's perogative, afterall this is his "house" and I consider myself a visitor. And just like in the real world, when I visit someone's house if I so choose, I'm going to be respectful. And besides, keeping the "junk" off this board (like my own post here ), creates a nice thin, lean BC resource for those like myself, who are only looking for gaming answers. If you don't like the party, the host and his guests, then why bother to come to it? Ok, bad metaphor.
  16. LOL, VLAD. Your posts kill me. Thats good right? You are evil! Some good roleplaying, keep it up.
  17. I'm with ya Banquet. I'm also new to the game more or less. This is my third try with the game, but each time I've picked it up, I've learned a little more. I'm now comfortable with all aspects of the game but nowhere near proficient with anything really. But each baby step I take is extremely rewarding. I just played through a scenario (BCIA0016) where you take off a naval carrier on some planet and dogfight through some nasty weather. After crashing about a half dozen times, I finally got good enough to take out all the bogies. The more you play the game, the more you open up its goodness. Unfortunately so many gamers will never appreciate it because they will never invest the upfront cost and time in learning it. Their loss.
  18. quote: Intruder: Whew got away from those bastards... now to power up this shuttle and get away! Marines: Surprise!!! Here's a bullet for your A**! LMAO, thats beautiful. BCSE! Translation => Best computer simulation ever. I'm starting to really dig this game's level of detail.
  19. I usually reformat and reinstall about once a year which tends to coincide with a mobo/processor/ram upgrade. Three years is an eternity.
  20. I'm starting to improve at dogfighting, at least using missiles first to take out his shields and then the lasers, albeit with less success. I've been firing at the TLD when I can get close enough for it to go green. However, I have noticed it often has a green dot in the center of the box. What does this mean? Is this an optimal condition that I should be trying to achieve? If so, what does it take to get the green dot?
  21. Well I'm a noob, but even I know that being that stool would be a good thing.
