quote: One note, I was very upset at the previews, A) they took nearly 20!! minutes. The first one was for Pirates of the Caribbean. While it looks to be a flick I want to see, decaying pirates marching across the screen freaked out my kids. Nemo's a kids' show, what fool thought it a good idea (ethically not marketing wise) to throw such a preview on the screen?! Morons I agree 100%, that would have pissed me off as well. I thought the trailers themselves were rated. Don't they say something like "This preview has been rated appropriate for all audiences"? So if they are showing a Pirates of the Carribean trailer at a G movie, they should be cutting the undead pirates scene. I'm big on controlling what my kids see with movies, so it might be getting to the point where I show up 15 minutes late so we miss the previews altogether. The downside being good luck finding a seat at Finding Nemo, opening weekend.

Accessing Logistix from personal Tacops
Spindoktor replied to Spindoktor's topic in Universal Combat Series
I'm not sure why this was moved to Newbie Discussion. I posted it in General Issues because I thought it was something SC might want to investigate. If its intended to work this way or its already been reported (I didn't see it mentioned in the VCF or anywhere on the board) this thread can be deleted. -
In this case, I am in space. It brings up the Commlink not Logistix.

BCM Gold @ PC Gamer (Extended Play)
Spindoktor replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Battlecruiser Series
YAY! This guy "gets it". Good to see, and great exposure for the series. Is this guy going to do a full blown review for PC Gamer? Probably not since its a re-release. "a fancy way of saying that the game's free-form megaverse is now even more sprawling-er". LOL -
quote: Does anyone have any tips advice, or strategies on how to successfully trade commodities. Yep, buy low and sell high. This means buy from low inflation star stations and sell at high inflation bases. Use your shuttle early on, it makes a great trading vessel. Check you manual appendix for details on inflation rates. quote: Real-time is cool, and great, but most sims provide a way to speed up time, especially for travel or waiting at a base / planet / systems / etc for attackers. This ain't most sims. Real time is real time, no cheating. I personally like this, maybe there's a cheat to bypass it but I'm not aware of it. Its a very fundamental design decision and its not going to change. Have fun!

I usually take out the enemy space marines with a fighter. Overkill yes, but highly effective.

Or you could also jump into one of your own shuttles and do a little trading perhaps? You will really appreciate the HJ recharge rate differences (as well as speed, agility etc.) between shuttle and CC.

I thought it was a fair review as well. Its good to see he put the effort into learning the game. However, it did seem that his overall score was a little low given how much he seemed to enjoy the experience.

My copy (Gamestop version) never triggered an autorun first time inserting the disc. I ran d:setup.exe from start-->run. I noticed there is no autorun.inf on the disc, is there some other way to invoke autorun? I had no trouble installing the game otherwise. I just assumed BCM:G didn't use autorun.

quote: due to new SOE all access pass debute Thats interesting. I thought they would do some kind of a la carte menu like cable service with different price plans. I guess they don't have enough choices yet to warrant such a plan(s). -

Check this section of the FAQ and look at the answer for this question: Q. THE GAME DISPLAYS AN ERROR OR A BLACK SCREEN WHEN I START IT UP

Your shortcut should look something like this: "C:Program FilesDreamCatcher3000ADBattlecruiser Millennium Goldbcm.exe" -j As mentioned in the VCF, this is a temporary fix until the patch comes out. It is only needed if you have a joystick attached and it re-enables yaw movement using the mouse. Also, disconnecting your joystick would also work (thus no need for the -j switch), which is what I do if I'm using the mouse for flight.

Disclaimer: I haven't tried this so maybe you can't do it. What's stopping you from dropping 4 drones on a planet/moon, going to a starstation and buying 4 more, waiting for the first set to reach 50% (to space them out a bit), deploying the second set, etc. That should keep you busy and the cash flowing.

Question about destroyed ground structures

Also, congrats on kicking ass at E3. After viewing the screenshots, I have to say, I'm thrilled that it looks like the interface is, more or less, intact from BCM. I have really grown fond of its elegance, even though it took awhile for me to understand all the various aspects. Good show!

I left my CC (forgot to put it into HALT), and jumped in a shuttle to do some quick trading. When I came back, it was wrecked, disabled, everyone dead (I assume). The only life coming from it was the sparks off the burned out hull. Ooops.
-
I was just wondering if the SC checks in here and gives us some updates on what's cool at E3 and what's not. I'd also love to hear how well BCG is being received.

Here's my contribution to noobism... Back when I was a noob, ummm, last week , I wound up with 5 intruders on board. So I thought, YAY, I'm close to a station (Centauri in Cronus), I'll bring the pricks there and I'll be lauded as a hero! Maybe I'll even collect a medal. But either way, I told myself, I'll stay humble. So.. as I proudly entered dock, looking out from the bridge, hands on my hip, standing tall with 5 intruders running around my ship and a bunch of green marines chasing them with squirt guns, I realized my error (and the -500 EPs help too hehe) when the station commander slapped me upside the head and tore me a new... Moral of the story. RTFM! The few, the proud, the noobs. EDIT: Actually I think it was -1000 EPs, ie. 200 per laughing intruder. I want to make sure I get full credit for my moronic behavior.
