Here's a statement from LtCol Oliver L. North in which I agree with: Washington, D.C. - By February 1, it will have happened twice in less than four months, though it is more rare than an eclipse of the sun, a shooting star or a volcano eruption. It ought to be celebrated as a magnificent, historic event, but no: the January 30 Iraqi election, like the October election in Afghanistan signifying the birth of a new democracy, and the first vote of a long-oppressed people is being presented by the media as a dangerous event to be avoided at all costs. For months, the so-called mainstream media has struggled to depict the Iraqi elections as a fools' errand foisted on the people of Iraq by George Bush. When I was in London earlier this week, the BBC and many European newspapers were predicting an "invalid outcome" because "the Sunni population is boycotting the vote." On Tuesday, Senate opponents of the President's Iraq policy lined up behind former Ku Klux Klansman Robert Byrd and Teddy "the swimmer" Kennedy to pillory Dr. Condoleeza Rice - and declare Iraq to be "a quagmire...a total failure." I was listening to Wolf Blitzer this morning on CNN and he almost sounded dispondent that there was not alot of violence. Every question he posed to a guest speaker on his time slot was couched in questions of violence. I eventualy turned him off with disgust. Nothing not one word of good from him about alot of the Iraqi people, from the sick to healthy, who showed up to vote.

Hmm, how can I say this. Magical, charming, delightful and dark (life and death undertones). I went to this movie tonight not expecting much but I was quite surprised. Just the right complexity I was in the mood for. The camera work was good as was the period costumes. The acting was spot on and the imaginary sequences were great. As expected, the historical accuracy was a bit off but it would not have made for a good story line so I'll excuse it this time and it really didn't bother me watching it. All in all I'll give it a 10/10.

Hmmm, the only MGM title I have in my collection is 2001:a space odyssey. I purchased some time ago, don't remember when, could have been after the Dec 13th, 2002 filing date of the lawsuit. Examining the DVD case and literature on the inside nowhere does it mention aspect ratio just WIDESCREEN version (theatrical release format) and as far as I can tell viewing it that it is indeed the widescreen version and not the standard DVD format which I presume they mean 4:3 format.

Have you tried going into the games Graphic options and tweak everything down or turning things off as much as possible and running the game that way. If the game runs with no problem with the low graphics options, start turning things up again, one at a time of course, and see what happens.

In a related matter, likely NY's first step in working toward the above, NYS Attorney General Spitzer just recently demanded that the credit card processor, VeriSign, not accept transactions that come from NY cigarette retailers no matter what state the customer resides in. It's not clear that every retailer has been affected. Those that are have sent notices to customers about the situation or posted a notice on their site, claiming that one way they hope to rectify the situation is by finding an alternate processor. However, it appears that in regaining the ability to process credit cards, rectifying the situation only went so far as promising not to process NY customer orders only. It use to be I'd hear the local dealers mumble this drug and that drug as I walk by but now I hear them say got this cigarette brand or that brand for only $5 which sure as hell beats $7.
