hummm.... just a few(3 or 4) years ago, I took the batteries off the motherboards, and shorted the positive to negative battery terminals together(on the unplugged motherboards.), to drain the caps and wipe the bios passwords. Setting them up..was never that difficult....all one had to do, was put most of the hard drive settings to auto, and tell it how much memory it had...the rest was pretty simple.....I would only advise it, if you know what you are doing, or don't mind learning through trial and error. we had some of our engineers, set their own passwords on their old machines and then the company upgraded the computers. ALL the Pentiums and pentium2 ,machines were given to my department. We always get the low end machines, for our tech's, test benches. The Engineers get all the NEW stuff. really! I remember when icq started out. it was'nt bad...but then....next thing I knew. I would fire up my puter, and the phone would start ringing. Seemed everyone I knew locally, could monitor when I was home, or when I left the house.(before DSL) It still didnt really register with me, until I had a break-in, and lost several VALUBLES(my rolex, and VERY expensive ring, among them). Today, I shy away from ANYTHING which would allow others to monitor my activities. I like the security of real privacy.
