Well, if you're not mad, that's good enough for me! I can only say that I believe if Europe had invented the internet, the U.S. would do one of two things: 1) Use it as it existed with EU control 2) Make their own and regulate as they wish. Either way, it's no skin off my nose. But I can't for the life of me understand why the U.S. should give up control of something they created if they don't want to.

I used to buy used games, until I discovered the developers and publishers got none of the revenue. It might be legal, but it definitely isn't helping the industry out. Mostly, I buy import software from places like Gogamer.com if I am trying to save a few bucks.

Well, for what it is worth, a tool was made by the people who make Starforce to remove drivers that might be left on after an uninstall. Edit: Consequently, if you run it with a Starforce enabled game installed on your machine, any drivers removed are re-installed the next time you run the program, so you can't hurt anything.

Regardless of numbers, I have to say the game is a success. Now bring on Next Gen!

You're absolutely right. It's tough to argue with sense. It's simply a matter of really being sick of politics. I want to be an AMERICAN, not a Republican, or conservative, or a white man, or a yankee. The Democrats practice the politics of division, the Republicans, although prone to bone-headeness, at least sometimes try to represent positions that attempt to enhance unity, at least from my perspective. Mostly, I remain aloof from politics whenever I can, as it seems to bring out the worst in people.

I am not normally one pre-disposed to close-mindedness, conservative as I consider myself to be, but the Democrats have warped into a party I detest. That they have changed so much IS an indication that they can change again, I admit. Let's just leave it at I currently could not consider voting Democrat, but that may change. Frankly, I find it HIGHLY unlikely with people like Hillary, Schumer, Kennedy and Pelosi still around. To say that the Republicans are perfect is beyond stupid, as we are all aware they are not. And they have been getting worse as of late - hopefully that will turn around. But I still see myself voting Republican rather than throwing my vote away (as I consider it) by voting 3rd party again. For the record, I voted Perot in '92, and Buchanan (in the NY Rep. Primary) in '96, but I don't think I'll be voting that way again soon.

I'm with Jag on this one. While it IS alarming what spend-thrifts the Republicans have become, I see no other viable recourse than to vote Rebublican myself. With the absolutely asinine nonsense they continually pull, I will NEVER vote for a Democrat. Ever. So what does that leave me? A Buchanan/Perot-esque hopeful without a chance in hell, or the lesser of two evils, i.e. the Republican? I'll vote for the lesser of two evils. But that's just me.

It is a damn fine show, in my opinion. I watch VERY little TV, so I just rented the first season DVD and then went to Best Buy and bought it.

Not to sound like some tree-hugging, bunny-kissing, VW van-driving environmentalist wacko or anything, but it WOULD be nice if we strarted pursuing alternative forms of energy. Removing the gross over-dependency on oil would largely de-claw the OPEC monopoly.

I just installed it for the first time last night. My thoughts: 1) The ship lighting effects were the first noticeable enhancement that I could see. The way the ships glimmer in the light given off by the Nebulae and suns gives them a distinct shiny metallic look. I like it. 2) The planets (viewed from space) have a noticeable cloud cover. A very nice effect, but on my machine the cloud cover gives the impression that it is rotating very rapidly. Not sure if this is a graphical glitch with my PC or not, but it's no big deal. 3) The hyperspace and planetfall animations are spectacular. 4) The planet terrain is a MAJOR improvement. The planets finally feel like living breathing ecosystems, and add tremendously to the level of immersion. 5) The FPS controls are improved but the contol/movement still feels a tad clumsy (this is comparing a game that does virtually EVERYTHING to a game like Doom or HL that only need to focus on the FPS control scheme, so I'm not surprised.) Being a very adaptable gamer, I'm sure I will get the hang of it. All in all, I plan to be spending ALOT more time in First Person. So far, a very worthy upgrade, in my opinion.

The thing is, he is right about one thing. If you accuse him of things you have no proof of or make mean-spirted parodies about him to be insulting, it gives fuel to his case. I think the guy is a certifiable loon, but I think the best policy would be to let his own hysterical rantings speak for themselves, and not qualify any of his ridiculous accusations with an answer. Taking the high road is not only noble; it is often effective in illustrating the absurdity of something by not even deigning to answer it. Rational analysis of the man's arguments provides all of the rebuttal that is needed in this case.
